Tess-thanks for your review! I wonder why the Poly CL has such a lousy breakfast selection. Loved your photos! I'm glad I made the switch to BWI CL this summer. I don't love all the Greek offerings at night but they do have a very nice variety of breakfast offerings and very friendly CMs in the lounge. When I was there in May the lounge was empty. Will be itneresting to see what it is like in July.

Yeah, the breakfast offerings are minimal, but it is enough for us. I really don't even eat breakfast at home, but do grab a muffin or two or maybe a croissant or bagel, juice, milk, and coffee :( . I would enjoy the Greek offerings at BWI though.

The morning CMs in the Polynesian lounge are like family. Several have been around for years and know us on sight. The evening staff, since Chef Dick is now gone, has a lot of new faces. They were certainly cordial and some downright friendly. We make it a point to engage them in conversation and most seem to welcome the contact.

I hope your lounge is empty in July. I wouldn't count on it though--Disney was hopping all over this month. Hope your vacation is as wonderful as ours. :woohoo:

I don't need a lot at breakfast but do like a bit of variety. The Greek offerings at BWI were very nice but I would like a bit of variety rather than some philo stuffed thing every night. I do CL more for breakfast and quick/easy access to snacks/drinks than for the evening offerings anyways.

I didn't realize Chef Dick was gone til I read your review. I guess I haven't been keeping up with Poly news. He will be missed by so many guests!

I don't think the BWI CL lounge will be empty in July but hopefully not too crazy.;) The parks were no less crowded this May than last and last May the AKL lounge wasn't empty.

Thanks for the trip well wishes! I'm trying to get my head in the mind frame of a nice relaxing trip with a lot less park time. I'm having foot surgery the Monday after our trip so I know I won't be up for the usual park touring and DH won't be up for crowds. It will be a change of pace for me. Maybe DH will actually enjoy Disney on this trip.:rotfl:

When we stayed in SL, the turndown times were varied. There was seemingly no pattern. The first couple of nights it was between 5 and 6. One night later on however, it was around 9! Way too late if you are already in your room and settling down. This may have something to do with how many Mousekeepers are on duty to do the turndown....

So we had a Southwest airlines LUV coupon burning a hole in our pocket....and with the announcement of the fantastic AP rates....we just couldn't resist....

Booking our 2nd stay at the King Kamehameha Club for Sept 3rd - 10th!

:woohoo::woohoo::yay::yay::cheer2::cheer2:

We stayed in the Hawaii longhouse for the first time in Sept 2009 and fell in love. We had stayed at the Polynesian twice before and had always loved the look of the CL lounge and the location of the longhouse.

With 40% off and esentially *free* airfare, plus our annual passes, we just had to book!

Only 63 days to go! :thumbsup2

We just got back from our June 22-July 1 stay at BWI CL. It was WONDERFUL!!! Again, it must be said - the staff is fabulous. We were always greeted with a smile and kind word every time we entered the lounge. The breakfast offerings were perfect for us. We are not big breakfast eaters. There was oatmeal with the "fixins", 4 types of cereal, cantelope, green melon, beautiful strawberries, muffins (during our stay blueberry, chocolate chip and lemon poppyseed rotated), croissants, choc. filled pastries, cinnamon rolls, banana bread, (one morning cream cheese filled pastries), selection of bagels, yogurt, V8 juice, whole milk, skim milk, chocolate milk and orange juice, coffee with hazelnut, vanilla and one other flavoring as well as cream and sugar - sweeteners, plus a huge variety of teas.
The afternoon offerings were sodas, tea, lemonade, yogurt covered pretzels, gummy fish, potato chips.
The evening always had raw vegetables with dip, variety of cheese and crackers, several greek type salads, hummus with bread, and the hot offerings which changed every evening consisted of spinach filled phyllo triangles, lamb balls, meatballs, dumplings, egg rolls. They had yummy peanut butter and jelly rolls with powdered sugar on top that my girls loved as well as sliced apples with caramel sauce.
The desserts were usually cookies, lemon tarts, chocolate pastries, and a flan like custard dessert. We only saw chocolate covered strawberries one afternoon but did not get any. A family took the entire plate and there were not any more put out.
The only disappiontment of the stay was our room assignment. I had booked our trip last July and was told getting a boardwalk view would not be a problem since I was the 1st person to book. Unfortunately, in February I had to change our trip dates due to my daughters cheerleader camp being switched from July to June. I knew it would be a possibility that we would not have a boardwalk view. When we checked in it sounded as if we did have one. However, when we arrived at the room 4211, we realized we had one of those rooms at the end of the hall that looked towards epcot, the back of ESPN and in immediate view were 2 satellites and a service road to ESPN. It took me a couple of days to get past the view but what I soon realized was how incredibly quiet it was and that we could see the EPCOT fireworks perfectly and could even see Nightastic from our balcony as well. It was a very long walk to the room but we were at least on the CL lounge floor which was convenient.
I would definately stay at the BWI again. It was so beautiful and everyone who worked there was beyond friendly. It was our best trip yet.

Thanks for posting your trip report and it's great to read it before my families 1st Club Level stay at the Boardwalk.

I was also wondering did you happen to have a menu of the hot food offerings for each day? If not then one of their Club Level should have no problems printing one off for us right?

So today I come home from work and was surprised to see Disney Mail!:cutie:

We still have 79 days until our trip and I have already received my ME luggage tags and booklet

AND I had only contacted the Poly IPO on Wednesday afternoon with our flight info to setup our DME and 2 days later I already have the tags - what awesome service!

So far the Poly IPO has been amazing and totally living up to their great reputation for customer service!!

Thanks for the report---the CL staff is a special group of people, aren't they? I thought I would stay at BWI once, as a change of pace from my beloved Poly. Now I am hooked, been several more times, and hope to have many more in the future!

Thanks! We're looking forward to it. We want to take more time to really enjoy the amenities this year - we only sampled the evening lounge offerings twice during our Sept 2009 stay.
You're welcome and I agree that one great thing about staying Club Level is to enjoy the amenities which they offer.

Has anyone ever been able to have concierge staff have a park pass purchased for you? They told me they could not do it. We are checking in late and hope to get to beaches and Cream before it closes so I do not want to spend all night at the front desk getting checked in, but wanted to head to the park in the morning first thing-again without a long time at the desk.
My son and I have tickets, but we need a park hopper for his friend.
Also when should I expect a copy of itinerary-requested it twice and still did not get it emailed to me.

If we ever needed to purchase tickets we have never had any problems when getting them from the Club Level Cast Members. Also I think you might be confusing the Concierge Cast Members with the Club Level Cast Members, because in the lobby there is a Concierge desk where anyone can make ADR's and get tickets. Those guests staying Club Level deal with the Club Level Cast Members on their floors, plus on their floor/building is where they can check-in and purchase tickets. So they don't need to do all those things in the lobby.

Who is telling you "no" and when & where (date/approx time and resort) are you checking in?

You can save a few dollars, plus have the park hopper prior to your trip by ordering through one of the ticket brokers. Many of us have used Undercover Tourist - their customer service is great and shipping is free! :)

If IPO has made any reservations for you, they should have sent you an itinerary. In fact, I've had IPO's send a preliminary itinerary, showing the reservations I've requested which they will make at the 180-day mark.

Totally new to the Club level thing so have a few questions. DH and I are booked in a CL studio at AKL March 7-12. We are DVC and never thought we would be able to get a CL room but we got very very very lucky. So my first question is when do you contact the IPO people? Next DH is diabetic would they be able to have anything for him?

I am so enjoying reading this thread. I was showing DH it and he even wants to add another night at Poly in a CL room. So thanks for all you wonderful info!

Congrats on getting the CL room!! :woohoo: The easiest way is to send an email to the IPO (the address is in post 1 of this thread - you should be able to just click on it). You should get an auto-reply within minutes stating that someone will contact you within 24 hours. AKL's IPO is awesome. Give them all your requests, tell them about DH's diabetes and they will note it on the reservation. Likely, it is the Lounge staff who will work with your husband in accommodating his needs when you are there. (hope that makes sense!!)

I am not confusing the concierge in the lobby with CL.
We are staying at the YC CL. I asked via email and was told they could not do it.
We are arriving close to 11pm on Aug 20th- we are there for 4 nights-so no one will be at the desk on the club level when we arrive.
I spoke to someone who made the dining reservations -supposedly- from the
CL staff that takes care of you prearrival-even emailed them twice that we did not receive anything-suggestions?

Well I think who mentioned that you is wrong because like I said before my family and I have purchased tickets from the Club Level Cast Members at the Contemporary when staying Club Level there, so it should be the same for all the Club Level lounges.

When you emailed them, did you get the auto-reply that they received your email? (if so, there's absolutely no excuse for them not sending you the requested itinerary. :sad2:) If your emails are being ignored, I think you should call them during the week. You deserve better service than you're getting.

And I do think you'd be better off buying the park hopper from U-T. They have a "special" right now and I'll be happy to PM the link to you if you need it.
