Home already?

Sounds like a great trip!

Did cake come from BW Bakery? I need to order one for DH's bday in July. We arrive on the 18th and want to get the cake for the 22nd. I talked to the bakery in May and they said I could order it when I got there.

Yes, the cake came from the bakery. Zachary met with Chef Keith to design his cake 2 days before the party. It was so cute and exactly what he wanted.

I'd love to hear about what they put out for hors d'oeuvres each night. :thumbsup2

We were not in the lounge every night. The ones I remember were the scallops wrapped in bacon, my husband's favorite, grape leaves stuffed with rice, spinich in phyllo, spring rolls, a really good orzo salad, chopped greek salad and cheeses, crackers and veggies. The offerings have definetly been trimmed down, but we never made a meal of them anyway. Now it is just very nice appertizers. My grandchildren enjoyed many of the snacks provided.

AHHH need HELP! LOL

So I am using a bounceback at the POLY we really want a Club level has anyone done this? Ever gotten lucky to get a room? I am not sure I am hoping for something that will never happen.

Any advice would be great. Oh and I am going the 2nd week in December.

I have a question. We are booked for a weekend in August at AKL club level and are due to check out on Sunday. I haven't made a reservation yet for the Sunrise Safari since we haven't finalized all of our plans but I was wondering if they ever grant you a late check-out (maybe to 12 or 1 pm) so that we would have time to get back to the room after the safari and breakfast in the park.

It would be awfully difficult to get the whole gang up and moving and get bags down to the car at 6:30 am in the morning.

Any advice?

Just arrived home from my wonderful trip to the BWI! It was fantastic as usual. Zachary's birthday cake was amazing and we had his party in the lounge. It was wonderful being there with all my grandchildren.

We had several very nice conversations with Jeremy Bullouch, he played Boba Fett in the Star Wars movies. He and his wife were so nice. Zack shared his birthday cake with them.
That's great to know everything was fantastic.

Hi DJmommy, On our last visit to AKL CL we were able to arrange a late check out. However, you do not know if it is available until the evening before. At least that is what they told us, which is understandable due to level of arrivals for the next day. They let us stay until 1:00 PM which was perfect and as late as they would allow. They must get quite a few people requesting a late out and pushing it, as we were told "in a very nice way" that we had to be out of the room by 1:00 or they would charge our CC for an additional day.

The down side was that housekeeping started knocking on the door at 9:30 am (we were asleep) to see if we were gone yet. This kept up all morning until about 12:30 (we were packed and sitting waiting for Bell Services to arrive for our luggage) she got really pushy as she said she didn't have any record of us being given a late check out and her boss said the next party had already arrived and wanted their room. It was quite irritating. Make sure concierge informs housekeeping if you are given a late check out.

Yes, We did have the do not disturb sign on the door and explained each time that we had been given a late 1:00 check out. I love the AKL and this was (housekeeper) the only time in all our visits that we had less than stellar service and attitude.

Angel16,

Thanks for telling me about your experience and the tip about mousekeeping. That would have bugged me too.

I have an e-mail in to them to see if the safari is even available for the only Sunday during our stay and will ask them about it if I can get a reservation. However I expect them to say that it could not be determined until the evening before.

We could make it back to the hotel right after the breakfast I guess, but I was hoping for it to be a little less stressful. Or maybe I should just book another night at AKL and take all the stress out of it. We are scheduled to move over to the BWV on Sunday for the rest of our stay.

That sounds good! Thanks for the info. :) Sounds like Kouzzina sent up alot of that stuff. lol :rotfl:

It's great to hear that they have the Scallops wrapped in Bacon, because those are one of the items available at the Contemporary and it's great to know they have them at the Boardwalk. Do you happen to remember what specific days these items were offered?

All of the evening offerings now come from Kouzzina. I liked the variety, though I know some people complain about the food. It was just perfect for appetizers.

I really don't remember what days were what!!:confused3 My husband seems to think the scallops were Thursday night because we ate late that night in Epcot.

Thanks for your reply and thanks for the info that the food comes from Kouzzina, because I was also wondering about that.

So glad to hear that you had another magical stay at the BWI CL. :goodvibes I know how wonderful the cm's are. :lovestruc They're the ones that make BWI CL a cut above and top notch!:thumbsup2 I had a wonderful stay back in 2004 and 2005, so it's time for me to go back. :) We'll be returning on August 19 for 5 nights. I can't wait!! :goodvibes

It was just perfect for appetizers.

My daughter and I, eat like birds, so it will probably be enough for us, my husband and son can get some quick service in Epcot afterwards to fill their bottomless pits! :rotfl2:

I was wondering if someone can answer this for me (I tried to do a search but could not find the right words to narrow it down, LOL).

Do the Club lounges (Poly specifically) have the to-go cups for the coffee w/ lid? I was thinking it would be nice to grab a cup of coffee to drink on the way to the parks in the morning. I saw that Garden Grocer has them so I will add them to our order if the CL lounge doesn't. I just don't want to buy them if they are already provided.

TIA :-)

Awesome!! Thanks so much.

We are 50 days away from our first WDW vacation (Poly CL for 10 nights...woo hoo). Time to start thinking about the small details of the trip :-)
