Concierge/Club Level Information - Part II (Sept 2009)

OP here. I am a little distressed at what has been posted here the past several days. The intent of this thread is to provide information that will benefit all who are planning Club Level stays.

If your family brings non-CL guests to the Lounge and the CM's allow it, lucky you. Unfair to all of us who are paying to stay CL, but it's not really our business. However, please don't come on a public board and tell people it's OK to break the rules. It isn't. :sad2:

Thank you.

Were you bringing them into the lounge?

Okay this is my point - if everyone thinks it's okay to bring 3, 4 or 5 more people with them into the lounge (non CL guests) how much room do you think there is going to be for the paying CL guests? Also as another pp stated they base the amount of food they make on the number of paying CL guests.

See I would never do that. If my in-laws decide they want to join us I will be booking them a CL room. I would never think of just letting them tag along with us!

I have to agree with both of you - especially after hearing how upset some people get when club level guests take "too much food". If the cast members base the amount of food on the number of guests and guests bring in other people, I can see how they might run out of food. I understand different CM sometimes give different info too - I wish they would all be consistent and enforce "rules" when they have them.

I might let one of my relatives tag along, but bringing many people up to the lounge in addition to random people coming to the lounge is not what I would condone. Non-club level guests do not belong on our level.

I have Outer Building--CL booked at the GF. Am is guaranteed to be in the Sugar Loaf building????

Thanks in advance for help!

Wow. I would never even entertain the idea of bringing someone into the lounge that wasn't on concierge level. Seriously, that thought never would enter my mind. It amazes me how there are people out there that would do this...but then again, that's why my DH frequently tells me I am naive.

I'm looking forward to my first club level stay this July at the Polynesian. It's been great being able to book things through the concierge CM's and they have all been super friendly and helpful!

I agree with everything you said and I just wanted to clear something up about one of my previous responses. I was just saying what I saw in August 2009 when this person staying on the Atrium Club at the Contemporary brought 20 or more of their family or friends. It got really loud in the lounge that I couldn't enjoy myself so I went back to the room. Later that evening is when I saw the sign saying how the Atrium Club lounge was reserved for those guests staying up there, plus how one Cast Member said they could only tell this guest he was wrong if he brought all those people back a second time. Finally it was that same Cast Member who said they don't mind if guests brought 2 or 3 people into the lounge, because we never asked them that.

I agree -- especially since the cost of a CL room is so high -- this will only make it more expensive for those of us booking those rooms since the food and drink consumption will go up. :sad2: But beyond that, we've had trouble finding a place to sit at the BC and the Poly lounges, so any additional people in there will just make those places all the more crowded.

I agree also.

It has never even entered my mind to bring a non CL guest up to the CL floor, yet alone the lounge :confused3

What is the point of having an 'exclusive' area for which one is paying a hefty premium, if people are 'gatecrashing'?

When it comes to guests taking to much food I think that's just talk on here among other posters on here not liking it, because in my experience the Cast Members don't seem to mind how much people take and it's always replaced until it's time for them to break down everything. I mean are they going to say to their paying guests sorry you can not take anymore food? Plus one of my pin trading friends who works in the Contemporary kitchen making the food offerings for Atrium Club and Tower Club floors and I asked him about those rumours of the lounges putting out less food. Well he told me that when it comes to the Contemporary since that is where he works at, there are no plans to ever reduce the amount of food which they make. He also told me they make the same porition sizes of food 365 days a year, no matter how many guests are currently staying on their Club Level floors.

Folks.....stop the arguing. The FAQ threads are for sharing information, not debating Disney policy.

The club lounges are for registered guests of club level. In other words, those have paid for access to the lounge. Not assorted other friends and relatives that you'd like to share the free food with. Just because they don't have CMs asking for ID for everyone entering the lounge doesn't mean it's allowed, or OK.

A reminder: DIS policy does not permit sharing tips on getting around Disney policies.

Speaking of food in the lounge - I had a question. Last year at the Poly, I noticed that one guest had pre-ordered Rice Krispies to have instead of the "usual" cereal offerings. We are staying at the CR this summer - should I preorder that, and what about chocolate milk? The Poly had it in the back, you just had to ask for it or should I ask ahead of time. Do ask IPO about these things? Thanks in advance!

The Contemporary does have Chocolate Milk and here is another tip. They also have mini bottles of Quick Chocolate Milk by Nestle. however you need to ask a Cast Member for them since they are kept in the back. Finally here is a picture of the cereal offerings which they offerings and they didn't have Rice Krispies, so you should ask their IPO department to pre-order it.

Thanks, maybe I will ask about that for DD.
You're welcome and have a great time. Although the times when they did have Oatmeal it was pre-made in a huge bowl so it was already hot, which means they didn't have it pre-packaged that you make yourself. Plus there is no microwave in the lounge to make it like that. So if I had to guess I don't think they would have any, however if you don't ask you will never know.

Thank you! I was thinking they would have hot water for tea or something like that. It is no biggie. We make do with what they offer!
