PolynesianPrincessJes - I think I would book all your party in TPV non-CL rooms and see if TPV CL opens up. Even though IPO may be telling you it's okay to bring non CL guest to the CL lounge based on what CRFAN4LIFE wrote the non-CL guest at CR were not allowed in the lounge after the first night.

Nothing helpful to add but to say have a wONDERFUL time and please report back!I leave 91 days from today for YC CL and can't wait! Never stayed at YC, always a BWI girl so very anxious to try it.have a wonderful time!

I will be back before you go and I will report back! 7 weeks and one hour until we land in FLA. :cool1:

After a not so magical experience last weekend at the WL I think I'm done with Disney's non-CL rooms.

Between the rooms facing loading areas and trucks, brown water from the faucets (in 2 rooms), and the poor customer service from the manager I think I'm done.

Things took their turn when I requested a room change (I even offered to pay the difference for an upgrade) and the manager told me he couldn't do anything else for me because the occupancy of the hotel was low. He said twice that if I was visiting at a time that was more busy he might be able to do something more for me. I’m still not quite sure what that would have been.

The conversation felt completely counter-intuitive and un-Disney to me. I was basically told they could make me feel more special but that they weren’t making enough money to do that. Now this may actually be true but do you tell someone that??? At the place where dreams come true and where I’m spending thousands of dollars to vacation in 2010 with one trip completed, one reserved and two more in the planning stages???

If my upcoming 9 night club level stay had been booked at the Wilderness Lodge instead of elsewhere on property I would have cancelled.

I'll just stick to the Swan/Dolphin for my non CL stays. That way all my visits will stay "magical".:cool2:

Well, I think it may just be WL period. We had stayed CY view there several years back and DH always wanted to go back, we'd book it, then wind up changing to another Deluxe that had better transpo, more dining options, etc. Well, when we decided to do right befor Thanksgiving last year I booked BC, then DH reminded me of how we always wanted to try WL again during the holidays, so I changed over and booked CL. We just weren't that blown away, not to mention the small rooms (we'd forgotten just how small that they were!). THe lounge was okay but the CMs weren't that willing to put forth extra effort (if they were out of diet sodas, they were out, no going to the back to get you one). THe bellman we had was the best thing about that stay (we had him on arrival and checkout :)). Mousekeeping left a lot to be desired and the club floor was by no means full. One evening they didn't come till turndown to clean the room, by then I said just give me clean towels and trash bags :sad2:

Yeah. We just booked our annual trip BC CL. For the first time, we are going back to a resort. Last year, was out first CL stay (I upgraded as a surprise treat for my parents) and we are now hooked. I know BC CL doesn't get the best reviews but we had a fantastic trip last year. Our rooms although they overlooked the front of the hotel - had views of the fireworks and Spaceship Earth. I can't wait until Oct!!!

The EPCOT resort area is great, you cant beat the convenience for dining options. Have not stayed BC CL but the YC one was okay. I know what you mean about being hooked, we have a soon to be 13 year old DD and a soon to be 15 year old DD, the lounge is great for grabbing drinks, snacks and such. The younger one also likes breakfast, so the convenience of letting her run down and grab something is hard to beat.

Currently staying at YC CLthis June but BC CL keeps pulling at me. Balcony is important and I assume there is the balcony and view issue at either resort even if staying CL garden view...Is one lounge nicer than the other? Did YC lounge go thru a refurb last year? I can't find pics on it or the updated rooms..I have a tween daughter and BC seems chaotic to me but perhaps that is just my imagination...is one CL nicer than the other? Lounge larger?

We've stayed at both and to me, they are both equally nice.

I'm pretty sure the CL rooms at both resorts have balconies. We had nice gv CL room views at both BC and YC.

I think you will be happy at either one - remember they are sister resorts so almost everything is shared anyway!!

I would advise you to check with TeenaS on the YC/BC FAQ's to be sure, but I remember booking a WVCL at the BC last summer because they all had balconies and not all of the StCL rooms did...:confused3

All the rooms at the YC have balconies.

The 2 CLs are about the same, IMO. I've also heard that the food is the same (exactly) at each. YC is a bit quieter, IMO.

Many of the CL rooms at the BC are "dormer" rooms, where the walls slant inward -- IMO the one we had was quite a bit smaller than the ones we've had at the YC. And the WVCL rooms don't have the daybed (didn't matter to us).

We loved them both, but there are differences, mainly in the rooms.;)

Just because three of our members may not be able to join us, I'm not going to take away the perks from the six that are in the room, ya know? It's not as though we're spending our entire vacation in the lounge. We'll pop in for a snack here or there, grab a drink on the way to the pool or park and be on our way. If they have to hang out for a minute while we do that, they won't be upset. Besides, it's more logical to keep the CL room we have now and hope one more opens up than scrap it and hope for two. What will happen will happen, and we will make the best of any situation.

We had connecting rooms bc cl last year and the two rooms were different. My parents had a dormer room that had a smaller balcony (bigger than standing room had room for table and chairs but that is all) and we had a regular room with a regular balcony. My parents were fine with the dormer room but I could see that if there were 4 in there it might be tight.

At first I was dissapointed in our rooms as they were above the main entrance but we were never bothered by noise. We could see Spaceship Earth in the distance and could see the fireworks from EPCOT anf MK in the distance. We booked std cl.

My understanding is that all YC have balconies but not all BC but check out the BCYC thread to confirm.

Well everyone's different. We've done a Grand Gathering twice and I would have hated it if we couldn't have at least been in the same building! I would give up CL so we could all be together and used the extra money to do the deluxe dining plan or more room service meals!

Sounds to me like you know what you want and what you're doing. And that you have enough time to potentially get the other CL room. Keep trying, good luck and lots of pixie dust.:wizard:

Why is this so hard and please tell me if I am being silly.

I am simply so torn between BC and YC CL. I act like this is going to be my forever home...but for some reason a "perfect" hotel room is so very important to me but I don't want to break the bank either.

I can live with a standing balcony, but now the talk of "dormer" rooms has me worried!any picture on that? I just switched to BC CL today but I can switch back.

The only thing giving me a tiny bit of comfort in the whole room issue - but again it is only as good as the room available - I had a situation last year that was addressed so nicely by Disney, I ended up getting a phone number to call 10 daysbefore check in so I could describe the perfect room to this person. It is NOT the IPO office - but another number. So my"thought" is if I book Garden View - hopefully the person at this extension, pending availability, could give me dibs on the nicest garden view availalbe at the time. But nowI don't know HOW to describe to her WHAT I want: Great view, balcony, 2 queen beds for BC. Any other area to mention that would have the pretty view and be quiet - away from elevators, etc? Thanks. Just don't want to hit this person with a laundry list of requests....

2 of our rooms for our grand gathering seem to be exactly what you're describing - they were 2 queen beds, full balcony, nice view, away from the elevators. The were gv CL rooms that overlooked the back courtyard, when you looked to your left you could see the lagoon.

Good luck!

Honestly, they are both nice. IMO pretty much the same feeling, too. Same pool, restaurants, transportation, location, etc. I prefer the lobby of the YC -- much more elegant and much quieter than the BC since the BC has the character meal there. I honestly had the hardest time navigating through the lobby out to the fitness center one evening around dinner time -- there were so many families just waiting around Cape May for their dinners. We picked BC last summer because we'd never tried it and because YC was in the middle of renovations and we wanted an already renovated room (which the BC had).

To me, they just feel like 2 wings of the same hotel -- I usually just pick whichever one has the room type that I want available. Unless you're very, very picky, I would think either one would be ok. :)

I honestly don't think you'll have a problem. We've had my brother and his family (2A, 2C ) visit with us while staying at the Contemporary CL quite a few times. They usually stay at SSR. It's never been a problem. As a matter of fact no one has ever raised an eyebrow. Don't worry about it and just have a great time.

We couldn't decide between the YC and BC they reason we picked YC was the balconies. We really want to sit out at night while the kids settle down to sleep.

So glad I am not the only one who struggled with this! Both are so lovely, I mean honestly how can you go wrong? We went inJune 09 last year and stayed at BWI where the balconies and view are lovely on CL! I had grandiose plans of utilziing this balcony daily, hourly..you get the idea! Hmm..it was a heat wave and so hot when I stepped out you just couldn't breathe. So my balcony plans in mid june were gone! hence my giving in to standing balcony if necessary....I am all about a view, why I don't know. But I would be back at BWI in a flash if DD hadn't swam in SAB last summer and loved it...

Were you bringing them into the lounge?

Okay this is my point - if everyone thinks it's okay to bring 3, 4 or 5 more people with them into the lounge (non CL guests) how much room do you think there is going to be for the paying CL guests? Also as another pp stated they base the amount of food they make on the number of paying CL guests.

See I would never do that. If my in-laws decide they want to join us I will be booking them a CL room. I would never think of just letting them tag along with us!
