Thank you! I was thinking they would have hot water for tea or something like that. It is no biggie. We make do with what they offer!

We've just thrown a few of the little instant oatmeal bags in our suitcases in the past (and I pack really light, but they are tiny) and then used the hot water to make oatmeal...There is hot water for tea in all the lounges. :goodvibes

I have always found if you make a "reasonable" request they are happy to honor it. I just don't care for a breakfast that is a starch/sugar feast...That isn't breakfast to me. Provided they have a reasonable display of other fruit, I would be fine with no strawberries. However if the rest of the choices are bagels or fruit tarts (which they were last year) then I need to make a special request and it becomes obvious why I am making the request I am. It isn't like they have blueberries but I want strawberries type of deal.....

They actually do have hot water for making Tea, however I don't think they have Oatmeal packages.

Thanks - that will work!

That is a good idea - DD likes oatmeal - but she also likes all the pastries/donuts too!

I know, I love the fresh fruit myself! It makes up for the trip to Beaches and Cream later in the trip!:rotfl:

Thanks! I will do that! Do you know if they have oatmeal?

I just got back from a club level stay at AKL and they had oatmeal every day. They also had fresh fruit (cantelope, watermelon, strawberrie, pineapple, blueberries and grapes).

It's a special thing that's only at AKL CL.;) It's not offered at any other resort we've stayed at.

Wow, I truly did not mean to set off a firestorm.

Let me clarify what I meant when I said we had people up to CL with us. My brother and his family would join us to watch the fireworks one night per trip. It was cleared with the concierge staff before each time. They always said it was no problem. That is what I was trying to convey to the poster. In no way did I mean to imply that we had family with us constantly or that I condoned that. Once again I'm sorry for any confusion.

We just returned from our first CL stay - at the Beach Club. We had a wonderful time and loved the convenience of the CL lounge - in fact, we booked a bounceback for September for BC CL. :goodvibes We found the CMs to be very helpful and friendly, and the food offerings in the lounge to be great. The lounge did get crowded close to 9 am during breakfast, but tables always opened up after a few minutes of our waiting, and closer to 5 pm during the evening appetizer offerings - during this time, we often just grabbed some snacks and took them back to eat on our balcony. At other times of day, the lounge was basically empty. During breakfast, oatmeal was available each day, as well as pineapple, cantaloupe, and honeydew (no strawberries or blueberries). We loved our stay and can't wait to get back! I'm happy to answer any BC CL questions.

Every club level we've stayed has offered plenty of fresh fruit: mixed melons and pineapple as well as whole bananas, apples and oranges. I only remember berries at AKL?

Oatmeal seems to come and go. It used to be offered at the Polynesian. Quinoa was served at the AKL along with oatmeal. Is it still offered? It's been a year since we last stayed. I don't care for hot cereals but quinoa is supposed to be a great source of protein.

YC offered cold hard boiled eggs in December....loved the presentation. Very finely sliced and fanned out with a tiny sprig of dill.

Thanks Jen! Glad to hear you had a great trip! :goodvibes

I'm surprised (but pleased!) to hear they had oatmeal! :yay:

If you have any pictures to share, we'd love to see them. :)

I'm praying I can get strawberries from private dining.

I never thought in a million years I'd worry about eating healthy at Disney. LOL

You can certainly get them from the BC Marketplace. They serve a wonderful made to order fruit and yogurt parfait. Strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, plain yogurt and granola. I always order mine without the granola. I heard a guy order just berries. It's a snack credit if you happen to be on a DDP.

oooh! I thought they were premade. I didn't know you could order it.

So I can just ask for that and ask them to leave out the yogurt and granola?

They make them to order while you watch. Some people will request no blueberries, etc.. I always order mine without granola.

I did hear that one guy order only berries. The CM made it. I'm not sure if they would always be that accommodating if too many people started ordering that way. :confused3 Maybe they would go to premade then which would be so sad. But it is chock full of berries and the yogurt is not sweetened. It's good for you, too. :goodvibes I'm not a big fan of yogurt but love it in this.

UncleOrville - was BC CL awesome? As in you would do itagain? How was your room? Garden view or lagoon? Balcony? Bed situation? I just moved from YC CL to BC CL yesterday b/c I just liked the feel of the resort.....Did you find it noisy on your floor or lobby? thanks!

That's basically all the fruit they offer at the Contemporary another item they offer is also Strawberries.

In all of your stays there, have you seen strawberries regularly? The reason I ask is my 15 YO loves them, it's one of the few fruits that she will request. If they have strawberries she will truly be in heaven! I remember that WL seemed to push melon.

Yes I have seen them being offered regularly.

Yes, I took lots of pics! I'm sorting through them now and should have them all uploaded in the next couple of days. I'll post them in the CL pics thread when they're up and let you know here! :thumbsup2

It was awesome! And yes, we booked a bounceback for BC CL for September! :rotfl: We had been booked on a previous bounceback for a standard room at the GF with free dining, but the bounceback offer we got on this trip was for 40% off for deluxe resorts, so we jumped on that and switched over to the BC. This was our first CL stay, and I don't think we can ever go back! We had booked a garden view room - we had 3 adults and did not make any room requests - and were magically upgraded upon checkin to an amazing water view room. It was a dead on view of Stormalong Bay and the lagoon. :woohoo: It also had a full balcony with a small table and two chairs. We loved sitting out on the balcony and enjoying the view. :thumbsup2 Our room had 2 queen size beds, and seemed more spacious than what I had seen in pictures (our last two stays were at the Poly and GF, so I was worried the room would seem too small). Our room was not noisy at all, except for the couple of hours in the afternoon when music and games were played at Stormalong Bay (since we were directly above it, we heard all) - but we could never hear people talking or general noise from SAB. It was a bit of a walk from our room to the lounge/ elevators, but we didn't mind it, and there wasn't noise in the hallway outside of our room. We also loved the light, airy look of the rooms and of the resort in general. Hope you love it as much as we did! :goodvibes

very happy today....I was able to switch my room BACK to AKL CL from poly cl (had to change a few weeks ago) ! They did not have any more AKL CL room with my 40% discount but the cm put me on hold and asked GS to open one with my pin so we could switch back:cool1: We love AKL and we were sad that we were not going to be able to be there at christmas.

THanks Jen!!! Was your room near elevators? I want to request away from elevators but don't want to jinx anything in case I get a magical upgrade to water view!!!!
