Having a few issues with IPO at the Poly. I wanted to order a 10" specialty cake and I asked IPO if they could take care of it for me. Was told sure no problem. When I was given flavor choices I was told only frosting flavor available is vanilla butter cream. Well my DH detests vanilla butter cream. I knew from the cake threads in the restaurant board we should be able to have other choices. So I called the cake line directly and got the icing flavor I wanted, gave them my credit card # and ordered the cake. Next, my DH wanted to play golf at the Magnolia or Palm during our stay between 1/6/10 and 1/16/10. The Poly IPO told me they are closed during that entire time. In the meantime, a friend of ours called and said they are playing the Palm on 01/08. So, I called the wdwgolf number. I was told that neither the Palm nor the Magnolia is closed during our stay. So, okay I make the reservation at the Palm. While I was on the phone, I asked them to confirm the tee times at LBV and Osprey. Guess what, there was NO tee time made at LBV at all and Osprey was made for 12/12/09 instead of 01/12/10. I cancelled the Dec 12 tee time and make one fairly close to the time we wanted fror 01/12/10. So I call IPO and they can't find the LBV one either. Sure hope it isn't in the system someplace and we are charged for no shows. I guess I am going to spend the next 15 minutes or so verifying the dining reservations IPO made are for the correct dates. This is just a heads up that it may be smart to verify the accuracy of reservations made for you by the IPO. But one thing good I can say about IPO is everyone is very friendly and they have responded very promptly.

IPO was able to get all my reservations I requested for my Feb trip on 10/27. They sent me my pdf file last night.

They have been wonderful with other arrangements I've made including a surprise cake on our anniversary.

Just out of curiosity what flavor of cake and frosting? I too got a PDF from them with my DH's golf listed. It was only after I talked to Disney directly did I found out the info on the PDF they emailed me was incorrect and he did NOT have the tee times listed on the PDF the IPO emailed to me.

I'm getting a fondant covered cake. Chocolate cake w/ Peanut Butter Cup Mousse Filling. (Cost will be between $75 to $125) I told them exactly what I wanted and gave them an idea for the decoration and color and the prices I was willing to pay. We'll see how it turns out.

I guess it depends on who you talk to. I wanted chocolate cake with PB mousse filling and chocolate frosting. Amanda from the IPO send me an email telling me the following were my only options for a specialty cake -
Cake Flavors: Chocolate, Vanilla, Marble

Fillings: Butter cream, White Chocolate Mousse, Dark Chocolate Mousse, Fruit Mousse

Icing: White Butter cream

Anyone else still waiting for confirmation of their ADR bookings made on October 27?

I still haven't received my e-mail.

I still haven't received my e-mail.

I was talking to an IPO today as they called to tell me that The Crystal Palace was closed when we are there and they told me that they are really far behind getting out the email confirmations.

Probably just an oversight, but at this point I'd suggest you send the IPO an email and tell them you'd like to see your itinerary! ;)

I'm fairly patient, so if Leafsgirl heard they are behind with the e-mails then I will give it a couple of more days before I check in.

We did request a number of ADRs (10) but none of them should be too difficult or time sensitive. I do have a Kona breakfast and Cali Grill dinner, but if the times move from what we picked, we'll be okay with it. We are trying to keep this trip as relaxed as possible, so that means I should try to get into that relaxed mode now and not go too crazy waiting for my confirmation.

That said....I hope my e-mail comes soon!!! :surfweb:

Just for peace of mind it wouldn't hurt to at least call them and make sure that they did get your ADRs then they can email you your itinerary at any time. :)

Just out of curiosity when are you going?

While I do like a good chocolate fudgey cake, I am definitely a pie person. I don't suppose they can arrange for a FABULOUS pie??? Not just a store bought one but something that rivals my homeade apple pie...(OK, that is a lot to ask :rotfl: but you know what I mean!)

Just out of curiosity when are you going?

We are going on March 13, to the CR. I'm very excited. We've always been a loyal Wilderness Lodge family, so it feels like we are going to an entirely new place, since the Contemporary looks so different.

Thinking about booking AKL CL for a quick Jan trip:banana::banana: Does anyone know what the "Offerings" are in the CL?? epecially breakfast?? & Hors D'oeuvres.

Thanks:)

This is the first I've heard about IPO and I am staying in Sugar Loaf in May...very exciting that I found this thread!

Do you suggest emailing the list of ADRs I want? Is that better than doing them online myself?

Also if I want to do the Photopass at the GF is this who I would contact?

Never knew, this is why I heart the Disboards:love:

I don't know if the IPO can set up the Photopass portrait session, but just wanted to let you know that we did a GF portrait session in Dec. 2007, and we got some really good shots. I highly recommend it! :)

I finally received my e-mail! :cheer2:

They managed to get all my ADR requests except for one. For some reason they didn't book the Big River Grill. When I went to look it up online it doesn't have the option to reserve so there must be something odd with that. It gives me something to figure out while I continue to count down my days!

I was just going to pick up the phone to call IPO when the e-mail arrived. :)

Thanks for giving me a place to check in over the last few days!

I am so glad you received your email....have a great trip!!!

Janetmom, Big River Grill is not somewhere that you can make an ADR for. However, you can call directly to the establishment and they will give you preferred seating. Just let them know the time you would like to be there and they will have you on a list. We did this for our last trip. They were very nice over the phone and when my plans changed, I did make sure to call them back and cancel my request for preferred seating. I understood preferred seating to mean that if there are several parties arriving at any given time, people on the preferred seating list would be accomodated first.

Let's see what I can remember. Just did AKL CL for 8 nights in september.

Breakfast was different types of cereals, muffins (plain, blueberry, chocolate), different danishes, fresh fruit, yoghurt etc. Juices would be out; pineapple, orange and a mix I forgot the name off :lmao: (specific to AKL CL).

During breakfast there would be milk etc. in the fridge. During the day there would be soda's for grabs, including coke, diet coke, diet sprite, sprite, fanta  etc. Glass bottles of water are out all the time.

Around 11 the first snacks would be out. Kettle chips, gummy bears, yoghurt covered pretzels, nuts with an afritude (VERY good), arusha trailmix (also good), a forth type of something I forgot :confused3. And of course chocolate chip cookies.

Around 3 tea stuff would be out. Tea cookies and alikes.

Around 5; finger foods. The veggies would more or less be the same each day. Carrots, bellpepers (very good) and two other types I forgot yet again. They were trying out some new stuff when we were there including chilled tomato soup. Hot stuff varied daily. Didn't have them each day, but there were some very good things up for grabs. If you like Boma's you'll like it, if you ask me. Cordials; haven't got a clue as I don't drink alcohol.

All in all, I'm not much of a help. :rotfl2::rotfl: After booking, just ask IPO though. They'll supply you with a general overview of when what is served, allthough it will not mention the specific items. If you are looking for a certain thing; ask. If it is not scheduled to be there, they'll be happy to try and help you out. For instance, we had them get us a 24 case of 16.9 oz water bottles. Needed them for medication and didn't want to run the risk of being without water outside or getting back late at night and the last water being used. No problem to have them help out. Within like 2 hours it was in the room, very reasonable priced. Couldn't have gotten it cheaper myself by far.

Has anyone out there ever checked in to a club level room at the Poly after the concierge desk in the Hawaii building has closed? How does it work?

I'd read that you went into the main lobby and told them you were staying club level, and that a valet with a golf cart took you over to the Hawaii building to check in. But that desk will be closed when we arrive. Do we just check in at the regular check-in desk? Is there some kind of a shorter line still? Do we still get a ride or escort of some kind over to the building? Or do we just end up fending for ourselves? :confused3 Anyone know?
