Concierge/Club Level Information - Part II (Sept 2009)

I prefer the Sunrise (which I've done 5 times!), but that's because: 1) I'm a morning person; 2) I don't have little kids; and 3) I love the awesome breakfast buffet! :laughing:

The SS is only $15 more than the WDE. I think both are great values for the money! :thumbsup2

teacher5 and RachelTori -- thanks for responding.:goodvibes We've taken the SS twice and loved it so much that I signed up for it again!:rotfl: But, like RachelTori, we like getting to park early (and I like how it's not hot then) and then getting the wonderful breakfast. I'll keep what I booked.;) Thanks for your input!

I just did the Wildlife Discovery Excursion 2 weeks ago. There's a morning one (10?), and an early afternoon one. I did the afternoon (1pm). It was about an hour and I found it very worthwhile. I would say it depends on how old your DS is and how interested he is in the animals, but I give it a definite thumbs up!! ;)

The morning WDE is at 10:00 a.m. I just booked it yesterday for my my trip in2 weeks.:cheer2:
 
I was so frustrated today! My 180 day window opened up today for my August 21-26 vacation. As of 6pm tonight after work, still no dining itinerary had been e-mailed to me. I called and the IPO office was closed.

I contacted 407-WDW-DINE myself and asked if any dining plans had been made under my reservation number. They look and the awnser is NO....Only JIKO (our first night) I am told, has been made.

YIKES!!! I have Hard-to-get requests I need to guarantee!!! I don't want to wait another day!!! So....I have the CM look for me to see what I can get for Fantasmic MM dinner package. He found me a 4:35 slot at MM, and told me I could grab it and cancel if IPO has managed to find something more suitable.

I also took the time to book our lunch at Le Cellier before it was completely unnatainable as well. I was so worried that I would be stuck with those 2 reservations completely unavailable.

I even mentioned this to the CM helping me that I was worried that there could be a chance of a double booking. He reassured me that all I need to do is call and cancel one if this happens, and he promised me nothing would happen to my reservations, they would not be cancelled on me in the event of double booking.

Hopefully tomorrow I will hear from AKL IPO and know if they managed to book anything at all.....

I am now anxious to hear what they where able to book me! I must say that it has been stressful today not knowing what was going on, but I feel better now that I have somewhat of a backup plan! I am confused though as to why they did not book my ADR's today :scared1:

Try to calm down and relax. You're going to Disney World! :)

Why not try to make the ADRs tonight online? Use a different phone number? If you find out they were all booked for you already, you can cancel them..but if it'll make you feel better, just do that.

You do NOT need them hooked to your reservation number.

For what it's worth, I'm going the end of March and just booked my trip. We got every single difficult to get ressie...CRT, Coral Reef, Chef Mickey's, California Grill, Le Cellier, Crystal Palace, 1900 Park Fare and more..that was with only 6 weeks notice.

Don't panic. I'm sure it'll work out. I would do it myself online right now and then cancel if you have to.

I'm sorry you had such a stressful day. :hug: I hope there is a very simple explanation from AKL-IPO and you'll soon learn that all is well. pixiedust:

I'm assuming you and the IPO had communicated back and forth so you know they had your requests and would be booking them for you?

Please let us know what happens. I've never known them to totally miss making the ADRs on time and I'm hopeful this wasn't the case for your ADRs. :flower3:
 
This is partly the reason why I just called today and had them change my LV-CL to a GV-CL..We had a great LV room(3rd floor with balcony) in the Hawaii building last year, but would have had to pay more for the same view..it was already wicked expensive. Oh well, glad I did it once anyway.

Still excited about my trip in September. I wasn't quite ready to give up Club Level.:laughing:

We switched from LV CL to GV CL last year as we wanted two rooms. Honestly, I thought I would be regretful. Not at all. Yeah, it is really cool to look out and see the castle, but it really wasn't a big deal to walk to the lounge :) .
I'm glad we did it when the kids were younger though. Climbing out of bed already in PJ's to look out and watch firewooks...ahhh....sweet Disney memories.
Now, they are grumpy teems. ;) Having the separate room was much better.
 
chimo2u -- Please let us know what happened when you find out! I will be very surprised and disappointed if it turns out that the IPO totally dropped the ball here and didn't book your ADRs... I hope it turns out well...:confused3

Really strange!! The Poly IPO emailed me at 7:05am at my 180 mark with all of my ressies. I can't imagine what happened to yours! Of course this will be my first CL stay, so I'm not sure how early they email your ressies out. Hope all works out for you.
 
3 of the last 5 times we've stayed club level we didn't hear from them until it was so close to our trip we wouldn't have been able to get reservations for anywhere... less than 2 weeks before our arrival date. bwi was the worst/latest but i'd already been burned before so i made all my reservations myself online.

Well, as those who've utilized AKL, Don and his team's services know....I need not have worried!! I don't know what happened for the dining line booking CM to say he saw NO reservations for my name. But, at 6:30pm last night, Don e-mailed me and apologized for keeping me in suspense all day. He said they had been swamped with phone-ins and they had not had time to call in my reservations. I don't know how it is done, perhaps they had requested them already earlier in the day, but had not formally input them in the system?? In any event, they where all made and decent times too. I managed to get both the MM Fantasmic Dining pkg and Le Cellier Lunch, the two I was most worried about!!

IMO I think that poster was referring to initial contact from an IPO office, not the service received after contact was made. If I'm wrong, please correct me. If that's the case, then yes, it does seem that they are not making contact much of the time. That is why many of us here on the boards encourage people to contact the IPO office if they haven't heard from them a few weeks before their ADR booking dates. Once I've made contact with IPO (many different resorts here) I've always had good, prompt service (with maybe a little glitch here and there).;)

Thank you for the update!:thumbsup2 I really didn't think that Don would let you down. He works late on those busy days -- you can't call him, but he can call or email you after hours when he's catching up. Glad it all worked out. I really would have been shocked if he had let you down!:goodvibes

I just booked BC CL for May 19th. I already emailed and received my dining ADR's! We love the BC and we are very excited to try CL. :cool1:

Just wondering if you all think the Safari tour is worth the extra money?

We've always had fantastic service with the BC/YC/BWI IPO. They've even done personal shopping to have things in the room when we arrived, ordered a special birthday cake through BC/YC private dining, booked our Illuminations cruise, GF Spa appointments - everything. We've always heard back from within 24 hours of contacting them. In fact last time it was within 2 hours!
 
Okay, so I received the initial email from the Poly IPO with the link to the questionnaire (that has the place to request child care, ADRs, spa services, etc). I completed it and clicked "Submit." I didn't get any kind of receipt saying they received it. Was I supposed to? What kind of turnaround time should I give before I contact them to ask if they received it? Mind you, I just submitted it this morning, but my ADR window opens next weekend and I'd like to make sure I'm "in the system" by then, kwim?

Hmmm - when you send an email, you get an immediate auto-response; not sure about the form since I've never used it. :confused3 I always list all my requests in an email and ask for confirmation that they've received it and we're good to go on the booking date! They always call me if they need a CC # for guarantee or pre-payment.

I would send them an email and ask if they did receive it. Better to be on the safe side. :thumbsup2
