Hey everyone!! My 180 day mark is tomorrow, I did email the IPO about 2 weeks ago my ADR's. I only had 2 of them, anyway do you think I should also try to make them myself or should I just wait to receive my confirmation from the IPO? I am trying for Le Cellier for dinner and LTT for dinner. I just wasn't sure of what to expect being it is a Sunday. This is also our first CL stay. Any info would be great. Thanks!

I wouldn't necessarily freak about it either way, unless you're going during free dining. We leave in 5 and a half weeks (!!!), and I had no problem making reservations at places like Bistro de Paris and Flying Fish just this week.

That said, I like the ability to change my reservations right away online whenever the mood strikes me.

Hey everyone,

We just got back from our AKL trip and it was fabulous. We did purposely keep a close eye on the offerings in the lounge as we had heard all the cutbacks talk as well.

We noticed NONE. Breakfast still had dry cereals, oatmeal, quinoa, and all the hot cereal toppings, fresh fruits, bagels, croisants, pastries, yogurts, milks, juices, coffee, cappicino machine, teas etc.

After that was an assortment of cookies and rice crispies squares, and sodas etc. That is also when they put out the african smoothy! YUMMMMO

After that was tea and they had scones, and cookies and teas.

Not sure if it was during tea or the morning snacks they had kettle chips, african spice nuts, yogurt covered pretzels, and gummy bears too.

Evening offerings still included marinated olives, black olives, roasted red peppers, carrots, 2 types of hot offerings, 3 types of hummus and bread, pb&Js and gummy bears. We saw things like grilled vegetable and goat cheese tarts, lamb & fig tarts, spinich and cheese pockets, and chilled tomato soup with olive chutney. During this time there was beer (4 types) and wine (3 types) out.

The late night offerings were desserts and cordials (3 or 4 out each night). The late night desserts were varied as well and included zebra domes, some other liquer desert with amurela sp?, pineapple upside down, berry tarts, along with cookies and brownies, and rice crispy treats etc. During this time I also asked for a glass of wine a couple of nights as I missed the earlier offerings. It was brought right out to us. We also asked for Avian water and also Perrier water for our room and a bottle was brought out each time.

The food was refilled usually before the last one was taken out of the pan or tray. There was a food attendant at all times during the high volume times, breakfast and evening hours.

Thanks so much for your review...sounds perfect. Can i ask how was the bus service? I had no complaints when we stayed there in 07 but i have been reading alot of complaints lately.

thanks

I emailed IPO at the Yacht Club and had a response in about an hour with our Disney reservation number - excellent customer service, it has possibly got me more excited about staying concierge at the Yacht Club!:thumbsup2

I'm so glad it worked out for you!!!:goodvibes Thanks for letting us know!

Thanks for the great review!!! Sounds just like what was offered when we were there last spring and last summer. I hope it stays the same -- IMO AKL is one of the best CLs at WDW!!!:goodvibes

Like PolyAddict, I'd love to hear how you found the busses!;)

Thanks for posting that and I just wanted to say last month I noticed the exact same thing about the food offerings at the Contemporary, because none of their food offerings were being reduced and all their foods kept getting replaced when it was running low within a few minutes.

We were of course at Jambo house so 2nd stop for all the buses. We had no more than a 15 minute wait and that was during early hours with everyone trying to get to rope drops. There was an attendant there with clip board and walkie talkie and was communicating needs. After one full MK bus that came from Kidani with standing room only, a 2nd MK bus arrived within 5-7 minutes to get the rest of us. Now, the buses from Downtown Disney to parks and resorts seemed to be way off schedule with often times two of the same buses following one another which means some people were waiting a long while. Twice we had the bus all to ourselves, once going to Epcot and once going to Animal Kingdom.

They also had a van transporting people from Kidani to Jambo and vice versa during 10-5 due to the pool refurbishing. That was a nice touch and appreciated. That would be a nice thing to keep going... maybe in the morning and evening for meal conveniences.

I thought they did a great job and thought that maybe some of the worries of them cutting back in an extreme way was either already conveyed and dealt with, or perhaps an overreaction to something said.

I would call that another example of some Cast Members hearing a false rumour. Now when it came to the Contemporary food offerings I also asked my friend about them and he works in the Contemporary kitchen making the food for their Club Level lounges and he told me there were never any plans to reduce the food offerings, at least for the Contemporary. So I trusted what he told me because I don't think you can get any better then someone who works making the food for the lounges.

When we were at BWI I got friendly with one of the CM's there and was told that they aren't going to be cutting back the food offerings, but will be homogenizing them. That way instead of the food offerings coming from the restaurants at the resorts that offer CL, they will all be coming from a central kitchen that will provide the offerings to all of the CL resorts.

I guess we'll have to wait to see if any of the rumors are true. :)

Well if the food for the lounges is coming from the Contemporary kitchen, then I guess that might be true for all the other Club Level lounges since their food will come from the kitchens of their resorts.

The CM was talking specifically about the hot offerings in the evenings. At BWI they come from Kat Kouzzina's and Flying Fish, and those are the ones he was saying would come from a central kitchen. I hope he's wrong, the food was wonderful at BWI. :goodvibes

There was one dish that came from the BWI kitchen though - I just remembered it - the best chicken quessadilla I've ever had!

Actually I think the hot food for the Contemporary comes from the California Grill and The Wave and other items like breads, cheese and etc come from their kitchen where my friend works.

Does it make sense to use online check-in when staying CL? Seems like it wouldn't make a difference one way or the other since club level guests have separate check-in areas. Does anyone staying CL do online check-in?

No, it really doesn't make sense to do on-line check-in. You'll have everything ready for you when you check in CL.
Have fun!

On the two trips my family and I have stayed Club Level since WDW has started the online check-in we did not end up using it.

From what I've read so far the GF SL club lounge is in the lobby. I was just curious how close the food and tables were to the entry doors. I'm picturing walking into the lounge still wet from the pool and dripping on some one's food. Is there a wide walkway to get to our room? Does anyone have pictures of it?

Thanks!

Just curious if anyone has stayed at the 2BR Princess Suite at the Poly. I am trying to figure out the location. It looks like it is in the Hawaii building...but not sure if it has a MK view at all. It states the marina view? Can the kids go straight out to the beach at all.

My understanding is that the suites at the Poly are located in Tonga, which is right at the marina. Straight out from there is a view of the castle. It is set back a bit but a good view anyway.:goodvibes

The Lounge area in GF SL is in the Center Atrium Area of the Building. There are entry doors and their hallways that approach this center area from both sides (Front & Back)of the building. The Front leading to the pool and the back leading to the Marina.

These entryways have a short hallway of about 30-50 ft before opening into the Center Atrium area of the building.

There are walkways "around" the Lounge area that lead to the elevators and room hallways. These surrounding walkways are divided from the Lounge area by a 3' tall wall that is taken higher with see-through glass.

Half the Lounge area is taken up by the concierges' desks & chairs. The other half by the food area and tables.

The area for children with TV and "mini-furniture" is in the hallway leading to the Marina exit.

It's all very open and light, but there's ample area surrounding the Lounge for guests to come & go without impacting those in the Lounge.
