jackemail-Welcome home-well, you know what I mean. I would still rather be in Disney as I am sure you would. It was great getting to meet you. Let the next countdown begin and I am glad you enjoyed your trip:thumbsup2

Know EXACTLY what you mean---leaving the sun and warmth of Disney to come home to rain and gray and clouds and chilly weather---it all just matched my "leaving Disney" mood.

Going to have to start thinking about my next BWI trip soon! I was planning on leaving the grandkids behind on the next one-but they fell in love with the Boardwalk. My family were diehard Poly fans--still are, but they rank Boardwalk a tiny bit ahead of Poly!!

Glad I figured out who you and nascar girl were (not too hard since I saw you teasing Lorenzo) , and worked up the nerve to say something to you!

I LOVE BOARDWALK INN!!!

My son called to let me know they were at the BWI and loving their room. My grandaughter is disappointed neither Janice or Jackie were there, but she got to see Pete and Scott. Sheis anxious to see Lorenzo tomorrow morning

Just back from a wonderful stay at the Innkeepers Club at BWI. Pete, Lorenzo, Jackie and others helped make our visit special....and I met nascargirl and sfbank!

Boardwalk Inn is truly amazing.

Oh thanks so much for posting.

I just booked a last minute trip at the BWI, club level over Thanksgiving and so far the two CM's I have emailed/spoken with have been terrific. I was flexible with times and days and got all my 1st choice ADR's and they are helping me with in room surprises for my daughters. This is a surprise trip for them and I think booking the club level was a good choice.

Looking forward to Thanksgiving at the world and getting a preview of the Christmas decorations and even the Holidays around the world at Epcot - a family favorite.

Great to hear...we arrive one week from today!!:cool1:

Is there anything you wish you knew about before you arrived...I mean any advice to pass on to one who has never stayed there? We are familiar with the villa side and Boardwalk in general...just not the Inn side and we have never stayed CL.

Thanks, in advance, for sharing! :goodvibes

I would love to hear back from you after your stay---

Take some time when you first arrive to check out the place. The layout can be a bit confusing. It can be tricky finding the best way to the clown pool, and the quiet pool.

I hope your stay is as wonderful as ours was. I think this CL is one of the best on property!

This is our first time doing Club Level. I still do not know if it's a great deal for us, but seeing I got a great deal on it, I thought we would stick with it and give it a try. It's only $330 more than staying in a regular room.

So, my question is if I call IPO, will they get the Birthday Pins for us and put them in our room prior to our arrival??

Also, there are few specific things I would like to have in the room upon our arrival, autograph books, pens, halloween dress stuffed animals and a tinker bell costume for my DD's Minnie Mouse that she brought on our last trip. Are they able to fullfil those specific requests?

I want to utilize their services as I made all our ADR's myself so I feel like I am wasting money getting CL. If they are able to do some of these things, It may be worth it. We won't be using much of the lounge as we have the Deluxe Dining Plan.

Thanks!

We will be enjoying our first and probably last stay at the Poly in January and received a great rate of about $250/nt for a standard room. It is $100 more per night for a concierge level room. My husband will be attending a coference and I will be on my own with the kiddos (10, 8, 4 abd 2) who are really excited about staying at the Poly ever since we visited it last year when we were staying at GF. We have annual passes so can visit the parks as little or much as we want. If the weather is nice enough though, I expect to spend quite a bit of time at the Poly pool/beach and some time in the room with the 2 year old napping since next time we visit we will have to get two rooms and there is no way we can afford that! Do you think the extra $100/night for the easy access to the snacks will be worth it for us? I don't anticipate using any of the planning services.

TIA,
Holly

I was just at Poly in August. We had been to Poly CL 4 times between 10/02 and 10/05 starting when I was pregnant with #3 and oldest was 3 1/2. I honestly found the service wasn't what it was the first time I went BUT it was still SOOOOOOO very convenient! Only you can say if the $100 if worth it for you. You won't be able to say $100 in food/night but what it worth to be able to grab milk, juice, cookies down the hall vs going to Captain Cooks and standing in line to pay? I do like knowing exactly what building I'll be in, do like being in a secure building (but when I was Poly with just oldest in January non CL room I never felt unsafe). I do like turndown service.

I think either way you'll really enjoy the Poly!

If you stick with a "standard" room you might want to request one of the "newer" longhouses like Tahiti or Tokelau because the rooms are bit bigger. I like the location of Tokelau but the bathrooms in Tahiti have 2 sinks.

I just had to post to give props to the entire IPO team at the Poly.

This is my first time staying CL and I have been extremely concerned about giving up control, but they have far exceeded my expectations!

I have a feeling I am going to be a CL addict after this trip :scared1:

Can I ask what they did for you? we are staying CL on Friday. I don't think I utilized them like I should have. :confused3 They did get me Wonderland Tea party though for DD6. Other than that, I did everything myself. I do have to say they are very nice and prompt.

Well, for starters they didn't strangle me for changing my entire itinerary at least 4 times :rotfl:

Seriously though, they got me every ADR I asked for within minutes including Le Cellier, first seating at CRT and O'hana for wishes. They were also able to get me an ADR at LTT breakfast before the MK opens and accd to the thread on the Restaurants board, the regular dining CM's have not been able to do so for anyone yet.

They also agreed to do some personal shopping for my DS2's birthday as well as some "Very Merry Unbirthday" surprises for my DS5 and DS6.

Oh, and they set up my ME for me as I forgot to add it when I booked.

They added my room requests for bed rails and a PNP, as well as for 1st or 3rd floor (not guaranteed, I know).

I think that's it, but again they have been absolutely wonderful to deal with. Prompt, professional, and very helpful.

Oh, one more thing. I have heard many complaints about IPO's not really giving enough info as to what their services are. Not so in this case. When I first introduced myself, I asked for some info and they were very detailed and helpful.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. I may have forgotten something.

I was wondering about the personal shopping. Someone said they weren't allowed to do that anymore - I read on here somewhere. I wanted to have a few things waiting in the room for my DD's but didn't think they would. What were you able to do as far as the "personal shopping"???

So far, all I have requested is some plushes to go with the Ears to You packages from Disney Florist, but we are working on more.

They definitely offered to shop for me and have not placed any restrictions on what I could get. I suppose that could happen if I went crazy with requests :confused3

Perhaps it also depends on who you get when you ask?

I am trying to plan a return trip to Disney, and am considering staying AKL Club level or staying at GF in a standard room, since they are approx. the same price. Anyone have any thoughts for me to help me decide??? If I stay AKL, we will rent a car. Why would you choose club level at AKL over the GF? Thanks!

There have been reports that AKL has significnatly reduced the food offering in the club lounge, if that makes a difference to you
