Concierge Breakfast. What to do

I've never seen anything in the lounge for breakfast that could get us all going for a nice day. (Apart from the espresso machine which I use bc it's included but don't particularly like) Loads of carbs and questionable ones, ingredient-wise, at that.

We only book category V which doesn't get hot room service for breakfast. We went to Enchanted Garden once but it was a buffet and that wasn't what I was expecting. So cabanas is it. Go to the station with the eggs Benedict and request some poached eggs. While waiting grab some other real foods, pick up the eggs (or like last time the cm there was our dinner server and he insisted on bringing them to us), start the day off right.

That's our choice.

If you don't eat meat, yes, the lounge is probably not going to do it. We did salmon, prosciutto, cheese, muesli, nuts and fruit. That was plenty for us, but if I didn't eat the meat, I wouldn't be happy.

We have enjoy eating in our Suite (Cat R) every morning of our cruises for breakfast. We arrange with the Concierge at the beginning of the cruise what food is requested and at what time that we would like for it to be delivered to the room. The staff is very accommodating and it is a lot less stressful for the children as they can stay in their pajamas and eat breakfast as opposed to fighting thru crowds.

Tell me about the coffee machine!
Is the coffee machine available at all times?
What brand of champagne is available at the Lounge?

When the lounge is open, the machine is "open". It's self-serve.

I don't know the brand, but you only get free (eh hem, included in concierge price) drinks during the embarkation meeting and at the cocktail hours before each dinner seating.

The sweet champagne is a rose. Not sure of the brand.

The dry is Fairy Tale.

The third option (lounge, cabanas as the first two) is the Main Dining Room (MDR)... that is by far my favorite. Waiter service, good coffee, hot breakfast made to your liking... we always do a different b'fast routine every day, but find that to be the most "civilized." My family's fave is when we order room service (we sail non-concierge) for our coffees, juices, cereals, fruits, etc. and then I run up to cabanas/buffet and grab the eggs, bacon, mickey waffles, etc and we make a b'fast buffet in our room, all sharing and enjoying and planning our day while still in our pj's...

My 2 cents. We always eat in Cabanas for the choice of hot food. We are early risers so there are not that many people there and they have sitting outside and right on the glass.

The CL is open 7 am to 10 pm the good reflects the time of day. So there is breakfast lunch then afternoon snacks and evening snacks.

How have you gotten table service? Twice we've been to the MDR for breakfast (Enchanted Garden both times) and it's been a buffet. We've only been on Dream; is it different elsewhere?

A 'please' would have been nice

Lounge all the way. Totally your pace, eat there or your veranda, quiet, no crowd, atmosphere, etc., etc.

I would equate the breakfast in the lounge to the breakfast they serve in european hotels. Lots of breads, pastries, cheeses, cured meats, smoked salmon, muesli, fruit, cereals. In addition you can order oatmeal or toasted bagel by request. If you want to eat a heavier breakfast (ie. eggs, bacon, pancakes, then head down to cabanas or MDR).

We always ask our servers where they are serving the next morning. If they are in the MDR we will dine there and request the host to seat us in their section. This way we can keep hanging out with them. But ordering in for breakfast is a great idea and a good use of the verandah! You can always pop by the lounge if it is convenient and you want to pick up a few things.

There is a table service in one MDR each day as advertised in the Navigator. This is normally Royal court/ Palace. Limited hours. ( older ships Lumieries and Tritons)

The fruits, meats and breads would be what we in the UK call a Continental Breakfast. The second option with sausage, bacon, eggs etc would fall into Full English category :)
