Im trying to decide what the heck Im going to do.

Should I stay at a disney hotel or stay at another hotel.

IF I stay at the PPH I will buy a AP pass to get the AP4 rate. I have a room booked there but do not know if I want to spend that much.

Also whats the deal with this concierge stuff is it really worth it do, you get a lot of food do you actually save money in the long run buy not paying as much for in park food. Or does it really just even out in the long run.

You guys and gals have helped me out so much and I wanted to say thanks.

SO is the PPH with concierge really worth 169.00 a night that is the only hotel I can get an AP4 rate the days Im going dec 8-12.

well I am going in 2 weeks, staying at GC and getting the annual pass so I can get the AP rate of 289 for atheme park concierge room. the room without AP is over $600.00 but with the ap it is $500 something so when I figured out the numbers and buying the AP and getting the AP4 rate for 4 nights it is well worth it and the perk with be little added things that I would not get in a regular room I am going to be saving quite a bit and lets face it, gives me another reason to go back within the yr. I f money isn't type and you can do and AP I think it is well worth it. :thumbsup2

We are going Dec 11-16 and have AP4 rate at PP concierge. From all I have heard at that price it is worth it, so we are going to try it.....

BlueGrizzlies- "Is it worth it?" is such a subjective question.... Everyone has different opinions about it. We love it, we have young kids and it is nice to be able to grab milk, juice, bottled water, fruit, veggies, etc. for them. They have a continental breakfast in the morning with cereals, fruit, pastries, bagels, yogurt, that sort of thing. In the afternoon, they have hot appetizers and beer and wine. They always have sodas, bottled water, juice, chips, cookies, that sort of thing. We usually grab drinks to take with us to the park. It makes our vacation easier and we always spend less money on food when we stay concierge. Hope that helps. :goodvibes

I think that's a great price- concierge or not. We are staying in a standard room there next month for $205 per night.

People have differnt tasts in what choices they make.

I find a hotel just a place to sleep because I like to spend all day in the park.

Last time I stayed in fullerton at the crown plaza 75.00 a night and drove and paid parking everyday 11 bucks a day for 4 days. Then you add food because they did not have a cont. breakfast.

What Im getting at is did I really save a bunch of money in the long run well proably not.

With the AP4 rate of 169.00 a night at the PPH everything seems to even out, but I will save on time by not driving to the park finding breakfest and anything else I have to do to make it to the park.

If you'll only be using your hotel to sleep and get ready for the day, then I'm not sure concicerge may be worth it. You should be able to find hotels across the street on harbor that have a continental breakfast and within a 5-10 minute walk to the park for cheaper than $169/night.

We've stayed PPH concierge before and we thoroughly enjoyed it. But we're the type of people who will head back to the hotel for an afternoon swim/nap even when the park has shortened hours (10-8). So we definitely took advantage of the their snacks throughout the day. The difference in overall budget (hotel & food) was slightly higher staying concierge than staying across the street. Although our food expenses were the lowest ever amongst all our trips.

Is the 169.00 for the room and concicerge or just the room? And you then pay extra for the concicege? When I standed in concicerge they charged one price and then another couple of hundred for the room.

I'm not bluegrizzly, but the $169 is the special AP4 rate and it includes concierge. It's an unbelievable deal. We paid the 10% off AP rate when we stayed PPH concierge and it was totally worth it for us. At the AP4 rate, it's an unbelievable deal.

what do they serve for lunch/ dinner/ snacks ect.

Breakfast is a no brainer but I wanted to know what else they had.
thanks

For lunch they had uncrustable pb&j, chips, fruits, assorted cookies. For dinner (wine/cheese hour) they had chicken skewers, pasta salad(i think), fruits, chips, salsa, assorted cookies, wine and beer.

Here's a couple of threads concerning concierge:

Here are a couple of pro reasons for staying onsite:1) multiple early entries, 2)use of vacation planning to setup extras, 3) Pinocchio's workshop if you have kids between 5-12, 4)pool with slides.
