Concierge at AKL?

Currently have a savannag view reserved for Aug. Where are the concierge rooms located? Are they all savannag view? That's what we really want and DS 9 and DD 7 are looking forward to the bunk beds. Do they offer these?

When you have concierge...the view is not guaranteed. You must make a note in your reservation requesting savannah view and they will do what they can to accomodate you.

The concierge rooms are located on floor 5 and 6.

I don't think you will have any trouble getting the savannah view...we were worried as well...but we had a great room, 5th floor...saw plenty of animals and had a great vacation.

Concierge guests at AKl are treated like royalty. Enjoy!

I stayed in concierge last August and I'm booked again this August... the hotel was not busy at all. Concierge guests get top priority for room assignments.

If you request a savanna view with bunks and am positive they will look after your needs.

Concierge rooms can be anywhere, there is a designated concierge floor (6) with rooms that are pool view and savanna view but I have heard that guests have wanted the 2nd floor and recieved it, the 3rd floor and received it and more often then not the 5th floor which has the majority of deluxe rooms.

The hotel also told me to guarantee a savanna view you can request a non smoking room for medical needs - that will assure that you willl not be placed on the 6th floor where the smoking optional rooms are located.

They really go out their way to make sure you are happy with your room!

Does anyone know if concerge rooms are larger than standard rooms or all the rooms in the lodge the same square footage(excluding suites)?

If you requested smoking you will NOT get a savannah view. If you requested non-smoking you will definitely get a savannah view. If you made no request either way you might get savanah or pool view.

Have a wonderful stay at the AKL, we are looking forward to it. Especially my DD 7, she is an animal lover. When are you going?

When I was on the phone with CRO they told me that non-smoking is a request only, no matter what. I told her that I would be travelling with someone with asthma who shouldn't be in a smoking room and she gave me the same answer-- Non-smoking rooms are not guaranteed. Strange Maybe I should call back and speak to someone else.

my son has severe asthma--a night in a room someone had smoked in guarantees a trip to the ER and steroids. I request a nonsmoking room for medical reasons and have always been guaranteed one. I make them read it back to me and make sure it is in writing on the confirmation. to be on the safe side I fax a letter from our doc right after making the reservation and again 3 days before arrival.

I didn't find that the regular rooms were any bigger than the deluxe (concierge) rooms.

Hi there.. definately call and tell them you have a medical reason for a non smoking room - they will guarantee it. You must have had a reservationist who did not know that.

Deluxe rooms are just slightly larger... something like 50 square feet... not a big difference, but I believe they are more centrally located and have upgraded ammenities.

We are there the end of August for 4 days of rest after 6 days at beach club and 6 days at universal... we will need to rest.
