DH and I went to see Pat Benatar and Neil Geraldo last night at the Toledo Zoo amphitheatre. It was a really good show!
We hadn't been to a concert since 97--and we were amazed that shirts are $30-$40!!! TANK TOPS were $30!
Needless to say we passed on the merchandise. But people who go to a lot of concerts must go broke!

I know exactly what you mean.
Even ticket prices have gotten insane. I just paid $75 per ticket plus handling for Springsteen.
On a whim I decided to get tickets for the Iron Maiden/Motorhead/Dio show in Boston last week. (A dream concert lineup for my inner 16-year-old) but they were $45. That's not TOO much, but still... $45 for nostalgia didn't cut it.
But MAN did I love Iron Maiden. Ah well, you can never go back.

I took my 2 oldest to see Staind back on the 14th--I might add a most awesome concert!! They were great!
I paid $28 for my oldest ds tee and $25 for the other ds tee--which he had autographed by the band!!
Your right the prices are really high. Im taking them to see Metallica next weekend--4 bands playing. I told them I will buy them 1 shirt each then if they want another one from one of the other bands they haveto pay for it.

We just saw the Eagles last week at the Fleet Center in Boston and paid $175.00 per ticket not including the handling charges etc. These were decent seats but by no means front row. We try to see one concert a year but the prices are getting totally outrageous. On the bright side, all 6 of us that went, agreed that the show was great and the Eagles were worth the $$.

You must be READING MY MIND!!!

DH and I saw Heart, REO Speedwagon and STYX on Saturday in Chicago. The concerts started at 3:00 p.m. and ended at 11:00 p.m. - that's 8 hours at the mercy of the venue. A beer was $7.00, a Mike's Hard Lemonade was $7.00 and a tub of popcorn was $5.00. The ticket prices were $40 each, which was actually a bargain for 8 hours of concert - and all the groups were AWESOME!!!! It was the concession prices that blew me away!

Oh....and as you entered the Tweeter Center, they announced "no cameras, no lawn chairs, etc." But....when you got inside, they were renting lawn chair for the grassy areas.

We saw the Eagles Monday night at the Verizon Arena in Manchester NH.........tickets ranged from $56 to almost $200. Very high for NH market...it was not sold quite sold out. We had $96 seats...front row of the balcony, which IMHO were excellent and I definitely feel I got my money's worth...they played from 8:15 til 11:30 with one 15 minute intermission and the few minutes between each of the two encores. Excellent show!
But DH and I were also shcoked at teh t-shirts and hats...$35 dollars ! tank tops $30.. We didn't buy anything ;)

I saw Paul McCartney twice last year. Tickets were $275 each. First show it was me and DW, second time me, DW, and DD. The seats were GREAT, and it was worth every penny. Merch prices were outrageous too, so I only got a few things.

I am a HUGE Aerosmith fan, and they will be in Atlanta on Sept. 14, which is the day before my birthday. My sister lives there, so all I would have to do is buy my dh's ticket, as she offered mine for my birthday present. But, can't do it, the tickets were $150!!! And now they're sold out!:(

We paid $55 each for Bon Jovi Bounce T-shirts. Canadian $$$, still completely outrageous :(
