How many of you leave your computers at home when you are at Disney ? Last year, we took ours, mainly because my dad (in England) was sick, and I needed to be in contact. This year, there's really no reason that we would need it, other than checking the disboards ! :) One of the things we enjoyed about Disney was leaving the outside world behind, so having no computer would definitely help with that. Then again, it would be nice to upload photos at the end of the day - but, I usually buy a few memory cards for the camera, so not a problem there, either ! What do you all do ?

I only bring my laptop when we travel without my husband. Then, I bring it because my son video messages with Daddy every night. Otherwise, no laptops. But we do use iPhones, so we are always connected and sending messages and photos any way.

I don't take my computer on vacation. A vacation is to get away from every day life. I vote to leave the computer home. :thumbsup2

We are borrowing my brother's laptop for our first disney trip. I want to be able to download our photos to a hard drive, AND back them up to a USB drive or two. Yes, I have lost photos before... :sad1:

Plus I would like to quickly do some journaling on how our day was before climbing into bed each night.

And most importantly - our kids (ages 11 and 6) want to Skype to their grandparents! As well as send e-mail and photos.

We bring a laptop, but only to download pics. We usually stay at the value's and only buy internet for one day mid trip just so we can check our photopass pics to make sure they are there and to see if we need to retake any. We don't do anything else with it while on vacation.

No computer for us! It is vacation and the rare time that we can just focus on being a family and enjoying each other w/out any interruptions. I leave my cell in the room during the day too.

Considering I don't have a laptop, bringing my desktop would be a major inconvenience, so I never bring my computer on vacation with us :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

We left ours at home nad the only thing we missed was check in online (resort did not have our airline as thier check ins) to go home, we were all over the plane since we could not pick out seats. It SUCKED!!!

I'll be in Orlando for several days at a conference before my family flies in to join me for our vacation, so I'll have my laptop with me. I imagine I'll use it to download photos from our cameras and maybe check email, but I don't see myself using it a lot while we're on vacation. I think it will be nice to have to do the online airline check-in. Heck, I may even post a few updates here :-)

I'm self-employed so I always travel with my laptop. Most of my clients won't call, but a few do. I tend to check on them after my son goes to sleep for the night.
Although last year, i got a call and had to leave Epcot to work for a couple of hours. I did tell them that I was in line for Soarin and would call them back when I got back to the room.

No hand-held video games, no gaming systems, no computer, no MP3 players, not even a cell phone. I take a cell phone on the trip, but leave it in the safe in the room.

Vacation, baby! The world needs to shut up, go away, and let me enjoy!!!

I brought my laptop and my cell phone last year, what a waste. Never used them. The laptop got very heavy in the backpack at the airport. I thought I would use the cell phone to keep in touch with my neighbours who were also at WDW-never did.

I'm not bringing them this year-just the camera and camcorder.

I am bringing mine with the aircard. I will be able to download and send the grandparents pics at night for them to keep up with the trip. They are not going to be able to make it due to health, so it is the best I can do.

I will carry my iphone though in the park, if for nothing else I have the disboard app loaded on it for the maps and all that.

God forbid I have a kid wander off and someone has to call me to come get them......No Flaming on that statement, just saying it can happen. " Hey look a balloon":lmao:.

I always bring my laptop with us. I upload pictures every night to make sure I have room on my camera and to post comments on the pictures (otherwise I wouldn't remember when I finally got back to them when we get home). I also use the laptop to work dining reservations while we are down there. Sometimes things change and it is a lot easier for me to adjust our reservations online rather than having to get on the phone.

If we had a laptop I think we'd be tempted to bring it along. But we don't bring our desktop with us. That's just crazy.

Besides, we aren't in our room long enough for it to be worth it. I think the only reason we'd bring a laptop would be to post a live trip report.

No computers. I know I brought it to download pictures but I never ended up doing it there.

I do bring my laptop when we travel. I like being able to check in with my e-mails...although I rarely respond to them, but would like to know if something important had happened with my business or family. I mainly use it to download my photos and instantly see our photopass pictures (to be sure I don't need to redo any). It is also very nice for me to check in updated show times/park hours while at Disney as we think our our plans for the following morning.

I definitely do not spend much time, at all, on the computer.

we took our laptop last year to upload pics to and to watch movies on the plane. We had no internet

This year DH HAS to bring the laptop because his grad school classes start halfway through our vacation and he may need to access school postings while we are at Disney and his blackberry won't do everything he needs to do.

I beg my husband NOT to bring the laptop every time we travel. He always brings it with us, and then he NEVER opens it. We both have iPhones, so we can get email, etc. if we need to, but I prefer to be out of touch with everyone but my immediate family when I'm at WDW.
