Compromise is a Disney word: Taking one for the team over Thanksgiving 2016* August PTR link! 5/28

Finally caught up! Great TR/PTR! Reading about your last day actually made me sad…I know that feeling all too well! Lucky you, you have many (2? 3?) more trips planned very soon. That definitely takes the edge off leaving.

I have to leave in a minute for work so I can't go back and quote everything, but...Night Ranger! OMG  Don't Tell Me You Love Me…the song of middle school! I would love to see them in concert!

I love that Chris was sitting there playing in the dirt with a stick while you waited in line

You'll have to let us all know how you liked MTMK. Mike actually just said to me last week, "didn't you say you always wanted to do a tour?" Um, YES! So I think we are going to try to do KTTK in November, but may switch if you think MTMK is better.

So happy Ricky is feeling better and back to doing what he loves!

Looking forward to reading your wrap-up/PTR soon!

I can't tell you how thankful we are for how he's healed. I still ask him like 5x how it feels every day he comes home from weight conditioning, but so far things are looking really, really good :goodvibes
I would be living in a fantasy world if I thought of myself as anything OTHER than technology challenged :rotfl2:
OMG........THAT GUY :dancer:

I am the same way with my daughter and her ankle. Today will be her first day she is allowed to participate again in her dance class since her surgery Dec. 27th and she has FOUR WEEKS to get back in shape and re-learn all 4 of her dances. She's been attending dance each week and watching...but it's different when you have to DO it.

Yeah as a technical person it's quite humbling when your kids know more than you! :)

And you did guess correctly and as soon as I get time to copy the final day pictures to PB I'll update. For you, you'll have to settle for this gem which was taken in Sept. 2014...this is my father-in-law after the show!

Umm.....this is embarrassing..........I do have an Instagram account. I do have some followers. I started it so I could follow Ricky and monitor his account :cool1: However as @Raeven and @fallonkendra have since learned I don't post on there and the main reason I don't is because......I have no idea how. I'm old!!! But maybe I should have Ricky show me how lol. I'm adevizio on Instagram :)
I pretty much laughed out loud at this! This is exactly why my girlfriend created Instagram and Snapchat accounts. I follow her daughter! Such a parent thing, I guess. My gals thankfully haven't gotten to that phase yet!

I just followed both of you on Instagram, if you both don't mind! I am Saucier_Ariella... Pretty original, huh?

I see you don't even have a profile pic set up for it! I didn't use it much as I just had more peps on Facebook than Instagram. But I have started to split my time. With all the political stuff (both sides, I am not getting into which side I am on, there is just too much of it sometimes!) completely filling my feed with it, I started to enjoy just happy pictures more of Instagram.

I know we've been messaging on FB but because little things like this excite me I have to say it here for everyone to see, Fishkill is minutes away from me and since StarwarsMomofGirls comes to visit her friend quite often, we may very well get to meet at some point :cheer2::banana: Now if more if more of you could just find your way to Dutchess County, NY, all would be right in the world..................
YEAH!!!!! I have to admit, that I told DH about it, and he kind of looked at me like I was crazy. But I don't care... :chat::rainbow:

have Instagram and Twitter figured out but I'm on Snapchat too because of my daughter...and I can NEVER figure that one out. She has to show me every single time she sends me something. I don't like to think I'm technology challenged since I work in the technology field...but that one eludes me!
I DO NOT Understand SnapChat. I spent way more time than I should have trying to figure out how to use it on our drive to Myrtle Beach last summer. I gave up. I knew two people using it, so it was pretty much a waste. Guess just means I am old...

Finally catching up! As you know I have had a lot going on lately:cool1:. Can't wait to read the rest! Maybe I will eventually finish mine up soon.

So did any of you guys catch "The View" this week? They were broadcasting from AK and on Thursday, James Cameron was on and he gave Whoopi a tour of Avatar! They rode the Na'vi River ride too, it looks amazing! I haven't watched The View in years but when I heard they'd be at AK I made an exception and I'm glad I did. I'm more excited than ever to see it in August as long as that trip happens, but I'd love for their to be a soft opening when we're there in May.
I never watch The View but I did tune in for the previews! After finally watching Avatar I am pretty pumped about Pandora opening!

When we got off I asked him why he liked it so much and he said "I don't, but I know how much it means to you." Sometimes even teenagers are ok :lovestruc
Bless him! That was soon sweet!

Yup, Steve was THAT GUY :rotfl2: The kids thought this was hysterical!!! So did I actually. Being that this was the last attraction we were doing it was SUCH a great way to end. Oh, and here's my proud man with the sticker you get for being a good "THAT GUY" sport:
:rotfl:I LOVE this show!!! Miranda was picked but I can't remember exactly what hers said.

Haha....but yeh...I most definitely swear!
This is good to know lol! A benefit to our friendship - I won't have to watch my potty mouth!

I bought a few new tanks this time but not too many as I have all mine from last year. Not sure how I'm going to wear them all!
I haven't bought any new Hot Topic tanks in a couple years except for the Jungle Book one last summer. I have a Peter Pan one and an Alice one I need to pull out and wear instead of the Maleficent one, I just love that one!

My stupid jokes are making me miss the Country Bears. I think that's going to be a must-do on my upcoming trip :goodvibes
Haha! We are definitely doing it in June!
Ha! I'm going to end up making Country Bears have long waits by sending everyone there :rotfl:

Finally caught up! Great TR/PTR! Reading about your last day actually made me sad…I know that feeling all too well! Lucky you, you have many (2? 3?) more trips planned very soon. That definitely takes the edge off leaving.
It's always sad leaving but MUCH less so when you know you'll be returning. We have 2 trips planned and one I'm gunning for lol. This Sat :goodvibes May, and I'm hoping to get an Aug. trip on the books soon. If not you know I'll be pushing for an early 2018 return!

.Night Ranger! OMG  Don't Tell Me You Love Me…the song of middle school! I would love to see them in concert!
I'm so happy we get to see them!

You'll have to let us all know how you liked MTMK. Mike actually just said to me last week, "didn't you say you always wanted to do a tour?" Um, YES! So I think we are going to try to do KTTK in November, but may switch if you think MTMK is better.
I'll definitely report back on MTMK. We did KTTK, it was our first tour, and loved it, I hope you do it. I've heard MTMK is like KTTK lite, like an introductory version of KTTK but also different in that MTMK goes more in depth into Walt's life and doesn't overlap too much with KTTK. I've read that many times here on the Dis from people that have done both, so I'm excited!

I am the same way with my daughter and her ankle. She's been attending dance each week and watching...but it's different when you have to DO it
How did she do? I understand the nerves about her getting back into it and then to have 4 weeks to learn it all? Whew! Best of luck to her; I'm sure she'll do fine :goodvibes

I just followed both of you on Instagram, if you both don't mind! I am Saucier_Ariella... Pretty original, huh?
I don't mind at all! I will follow you back since I figured it out now lol

I see you don't even have a profile pic set up for it! I didn't use it much as I just had more peps on Facebook than Instagram.
Nope. No idea how to even put my profile pic on there. I really seriously need to have Ricky help me with it all :sad2: I actually have a lot of friends on Instagram too plus tons of my fellow agents use it to advertise, so it would benefit me all around to open myself up to learn a little more.........

YEAH!!!!! I have to admit, that I told DH about it, and he kind of looked at me like I was crazy. But I don't care... :chat::rainbow:
When I tell Steve he'll do the same! The first time I had a Dis meet was back in Jan. of 2015 and he thought I was absolutely nuts. Completely. He couldn't understand why anyone would want to meet someone they met on a message board. Well unless it was a dating site :rotfl2: My kids figured I'd be killed and they still say that when I say we're meeting someone I met on the Dis. However by our 2nd Dis meet with the always fabulous Kari @kastoney, her hubby Jason and SO adorable little Casey he realized that yup, you CAN meet crazy people in Disney :P No seriously he's cool now with it and when I tell him my Dis friend has a friend in Fishkill and is coming up this way, he'll shake his head but also smile.

Finally catching up! As you know I have had a lot going on lately:cool1:
Of course I do and as YOU know, I'm so totally happy for you pixiedust:

I never watch The View but I did tune in for the previews! After finally watching Avatar I am pretty pumped about Pandora opening!
I never watch it either but I made an exception that week. Made me so excited! I'm crossing my fingers for a soft opening when we're there in May.......

You met the Tweedles! And my face would have looked exactly the same so no judgment. My friends made fun of me when they say my face in my pics with the Evil Queen. Non-Disney folk just don't get it. Also I loved Chris playing in the dirt with a stick. Those little moments when they don't know we're watching can be so great.

You made the most of the crowded time! We really enjoy both CoP and Country Bears. At any given time there's a better than decent chance someone in my house will break into singing "Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow." Of course, I lose it every time DH starts up with "Buh-lood on the saddle!"

Why I Wish We Could Go For Thanksgiving Again This Year

If you read my TR from our Thanksgiving 2015 trip, you know that while overall our trip was good, we had our share of :sad2:. Sewage seeping through the floor, crappy room location with our move, stomach bug on Thanksgiving day......so our 2016 trip was better in every way possible. It was hectic with the basketball related changes but in the end it was worth it and it all worked out.
First stay at the Beach Club: can't beat the location! Steve's favorite area to stay in is the Epcot area. I do love it for the location but like BWV, BCV just doesn't scream "home" for me. I know some of you disagree! The pool is great and I see why many love it for that reason; we aren't a big pool family except for Chris so that's not a big factor. And I do think that the sheer size of it is kind of a pain since if you need/want to watch your kids you can't really sit with a drink and chill unless you tell them they have to stay in one spot. On the other hand I was extremely pleased with the Marketplace and of course, the view from our room!
Crowds: bigger than last year but still very managable. Unlike last year when I gave in to the kids and only did like one RD, I stuck to my guns and we got to the parks earlier on more days and it made a huge difference.
Jingle Bell Jingle BAM show and dessert party: I thought the show was so good! So nice to have a holiday event at HS even though it was no replacement for Osborne Lights. I do wish there were a few more fireworks though. As for the dessert party I enjoyed it more than the Wishes dessert party we did in 2012 but, I think I'm good on dessert parties for awhile again.

Going back for Thanksgiving: I would do it in a heartbeat! Just today Steve was saying he wishes we could go this year. Unfortunately that won't be happening this year, and probably not for a couple years :( Why?
BASKETBALL o_O ::yes::
Ricky will most likely have a tournament over Thanksgiving break this year so no way can we plan anything. To make it worse, one of our very good friends whose boys are the same ages as ours told me today that they might go down for Thanksgiving this year. Oh well, what can you do? I love watching him play basketball and he loves it, so we'll have to come up with another plan for our family trips. For now I'll concentrate on our trip in 3 days and our other trip in May!!!!
Thank you all once again for following along. If you're interested, I'm going to add my TR to this on my Feb. Universal TA training but I most likely won't start that until I get back next week. For now I'll leave you with this:

You met the Tweedles! And my face would have looked exactly the same so no judgment. My friends made fun of me when they say my face in my pics with the Evil Queen. Non-Disney folk just don't get it
My friends make fun of me every time they see that I've met a character  The bolded is SO the truth!!

We really enjoy both CoP and Country Bears. At any given time there's a better than decent chance someone in my house will break into singing "Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow." Of course, I lose it every time DH starts up with "Buh-lood on the saddle!"
I want to live in your house! If I break into any Disney song the kids roll their eyes and tell me to stop or run away lol. Steve just looks at me and laughs :)

Ah, Andi and I are thinking about doing a Thanksgiving trip this year because I want to see some Christmas decorations and make use of renewing the annual passes. I was thinking the Wednesday to Monday, I know it will be really crowded but I just can't find another time where she is off of school that I can be off work. Christmas time doesn't work because the boys will be home. My husband and son do a pheasant hunting trip over Thanksgiving so it wouldn't be a big deal, Andi and I are usually alone on this day and Andi's Birthday is 11/26 so we would be there for that as well. I am so glad to read your reviews and realize you can have fun even when really crowded. We have been at Easter time and it was busy. Any pointers or tips about Thanksgiving time let me know. Thanks!

Have an awesome couples trip, I am jealous you are going so many times this year! Sorry to ramble above!

Nice wrap up! Don't sports just get in the way of everything!!? But good that Ricky has something he loves to do. I hope you have an amazing trip!! I can't wait to hear all about it, as well as the Universal trip, and everything else you've got coming up! Enjoy your adults-only stay, and keep us in the loop :)

Lovely wrap-up! Your final picture is wonderful and has me aching to be there now. I have to ask where you feel like home is - I'm going to guess WL. While I love BCV, BLT feels like home for me.

I want to live in your house! If I break into any Disney song the kids roll their eyes and tell me to stop or run away lol. Steve just looks at me and laughs :)

Oh, you might get sick of us pretty quickly, as it's a daily occurrence over here. My kids see me as a Disney princess jukebox and attempt to make me sing on demand lol.

What a GREAT TR! I'm so sad its over!!

Umm.....this is embarrassing..........I do have an Instagram account. I do have some followers. I started it so I could follow Ricky and monitor his account :cool1: However as @Raeven and @fallonkendra have since learned I don't post on there and the main reason I don't is because......I have no idea how. hahaha you're too funny! I just requested to follow you... now that pressures on to follow me back! haha! Yes definitely have Ricky show you! I LVOE to follow all the Disney themed accounts, its much less 'cluttered' than facebook thats why I like it <3

Well if you've NEVER ridden it you really should! It's far from my favorite attraction but it is a classic. I prefer when the do the Jingle Cruise overlay for the holiday but it's a cute ride, and so much better if you get a good skipper so if you ride it more than once the experience can be different.

It's on the list!!

If you read my TR from our Thanksgiving 2015 trip, you know that while overall our trip was good, we had our share of :sad2:.

Ok I need to back and re read this TR!

Unfortunately that won't be happening this year, and probably not for a couple years

BUMMER! But I'm sure it'll be worth it, what a fun time in the kids' lives!

to make it worse, one of our very good friends whose boys are the same ages as ours told me today that they might go down for Thanksgiving this year.

THE WORSE. The only advice I have is.... WINE! pixiedust:

I hope you have the best time on your upcoming trip ! Plus, your May trip is almost here too!! yipee!!

How did she do? I understand the nerves about her getting back into it and then to have 4 weeks to learn it all? Whew! Best of luck to her; I'm sure she'll do fine

THANKS!! So for having NOT danced since December, and keeping in mind she did still attend most of the classes just to observe, she said her dance teacher made the whole class APPLAUD her for doing so well, she knew every dance and had no problems! She was a little sore afterwards, but she iced it and relaxed at home that evening. She has a few more weeks until her recital, with one dance class a week and then TWO 4-hour FULL recital rehearsals as well. I'm sure she'll be great.

Love your wrap-up of the trip. I'd love to try another dessert party in the future, but that cost...ugh. Even meals don't appeal to me as much any more because of the cost, though we've gotten better about learning to split things to save some money and my "kids" at 12 and 14 still enjoy the kids meals and Disney never balks at them ordering them. We never do the dining plan so we try to limit our food spending when possible.

I'm definitely looking forward to Beach Club again myself!

Well, at least we have husbands who humor us!

Sewage seeping through the floor, crappy room location with our move, stomach bug on Thanksgiving day.
OMG! I need to go back and read THAT trip report!

I said it on the other report. Have a great trip!

Oh no, no Thanksgiving trip this year???? Maybe you should just go a few weeks earlier, like maybe the same time as your favorite diser :-)

Hope you and Steve are having a blast and drinking lots for me :drinking1

Saw this after i typed the first message. On my way to murder you now :P

Yay! Great TR and wrap up! And I know you are already enjoying your trip! Can't wait to read all about it!

Nice wrap up :thumbsup2
Love the last pic of the family :goodvibes
Looking forward to hearing about your current trip and future ones.
Kathy says hi too
