I am heading to WDW next week (YEA!!). So today i received an email that noted WDW resorts provides complimentary insect repellent. I am just wondering is this something which is provided to you in the room or is available at front desk or a shop?

I was going to pack some, but if it will be there it is one less things to worry about.

I'm not DVC, but saw this pop up in the New Posts...in December at Boardwalk, it was on the sink counter of the restroom with a card propped up next to it explaining why it was there.

Hopefully someone will chime in to confirm or deny that this is still the case, or is the same/different in a DVC room.

I hope you have a wonderful trip!!

We had it in December (on the counter in the bathroom) but it was not in our room last week.

We were in WDW in February. Stayed at AKV jambo, and Bwv. It was not in either room. I figured they stopped offering it. I did see a table with it in the parks.

I was in 3 different resorts in Dec. AKV and Poly did not have it in the rooms, and I did not ask for it. WLV had it in the room, next to the TV, but I never used it. I have not had mosquito problems at the parks and resorts, and am past child-bearing years, so not worried about Zika virus. I have had terrible mosquito swarms and bites at both mini-golf, just terrible. So I just don't go there anymore. That must not be too common at the mini-golf, they would have rectified it somehow, or close or move them. But it was bad enough to choose to never repeat the experience, (and pay to do it to boot). We have good mini-golf where we live.

Just an aside, but since they took out the clocks and CD players, I wouldn't count on mosquito repellent. That was offered in the height of the Zika virus problem in the Miami area, and resulting bad publicity for Florida tourism. Pregnant women and women trying to become pregnant were advised not to travel to Florida, etc. That seems to have been resolved, as you never hear anything about Zika in the news anymore.

It is still available at the parks. We saw it in Jan and again at the end of march. However what they had was huge containers of a lotion repellent you had to put on your hands and apply like sunscreen (no spray). In Oct in addition to those tables our studio had a spray can of repellant when we checked in-there was none in our room in Jan or March nor any note saying we could request it. My point is if you don't want to use some lotion type I wouldn't count on them supplying the spray anymore. Perhaps they do on request or will again if Zika becomes front page news again but recently it doesn't seem the rooms are stocked with it anymore.

We just got back, 4/1-4/8, the insect repellant was on the vanity of our sink in the BWV 1BR. We actually had a 2BR, the second insect repellant was in the sink area of the studio.

We stayed at SSR and BWV (both 1-BR )mid-March and had the repellent on the bathroom counter at both. I believe it was Cutter Deep Woods. I used it the first day and was pleased that it was scent-free. Discovered I didn't need it and didn't use it the rest of our stay. Never saw a mosquito and I am a magnet for them.

We just got back from a week in a 2 bedroom at BLT. Insect repellent was in a closet in each of the bedrooms. We also saw it available for use in stores in the parks.

I figured they stopped offering it.
It's still here and there, but not as prominent as it once was. For our Feb/Mar trip, it was in the POFQ room we tacked on to the beginning of our week, but was not in our SSR 1BR. There were a few places in the Parks (notably, AK) that had it.

As others have mentioned, Zika is no longer in the news. That may or may not mean it's no longer a problem; I don't know.

It was on the bathroom counter when I stayed in a 1 bedroom at BWV at the end of March.

People asked this question in another thread and the results were mixed - some people had it in their rooms at different resorts, and others did not.

If you want it and you don't see it, call Housekeeping and see if they can bring it to your room.

I figured because it was cool outside, it wasn't a current issue.

The aerosol can with the printed noticed underneath it was on the bathroom vanity when we stayed at BRV @ WL, 3/27-4/6/17.

We didn't end up having any insect repellant in our room, but we didn't really encounter any misquotes. I did see some in the park in a large pump dispenser.

Just got back from a VGF studio and the insect repellent was on top of the murphy bed furniture. Just after seeing it I walked over to the patio door and guess what - a mosquito was flying around the curtains!

We were in an OKW GV the first week of April, and there was a can in the master bathroom vanity. I didn't see any in the other bedrooms or bathrooms.

We stayed at AKL two weeks ago, and it was in the form of a large packet of insect repellent wipes on the bathroom sink counter. It wasn't there the first night fyi, but was there from the 2nd night onward (we never used it). If you can't find it, I recommend stopping by the front desk & asking for some. More convenient than buying & bringing your own.

We had it on the bathroom counter at BWV in February. I didn't notice it at first because it was in the corner behind the tissue box holder.
