Completely frustrated with FP+

I guess it's my fault for trying to plan a last minute Christmas vacation but it seems like everything is unavailable. I tentatively scheduled a trip for 2 days/3 nites at Disney. Dec. 29-Jan1. I am trying to pick FP+ but if I want the Mine Train, it has to be between 10:35-11:35pm. And apparently, I can't get any more fastpasses until all 3 are used so I would have to wait that late to get more???? Should I do standby for the mine train? do they even allow that? or should I not pick the mine train, pick something else and hope that after I used my 3 fastpasses up, I can still get one for the mine train that night. How can all the fastpasses for that ride almost be all gone already??

Getting any FP+ for mine train is a luxury now.

Agreed. I had difficulty at 60 days out. I would definitely do standby, either at rope drop or later at night. Book other FPs earlier so you can book a 4th (and beyond) in the park later.

Do not beat yourself up for booking a last minute trip. The truth is, you probably would have had trouble at 60 days out, especially on those dates. Try not to focus too much on it.

I would definitely keep trying for the FPs, because openings do happen.

You could actually get Mine Train? Lucky.

I planned my August trip 14 days out. I got everything except Mine Train.

I understand your disappointment on not getting a 7DMT FP+ but it is just one ride. Surely it's not true that "everything is unavailable"

My sister couldn't get a FP+ for the mine train or anna/elsa at 61 days out for the first week of December, which is a much less crowded time.

I would count my blessings that you found anything for that time of year past the 60 day mark.

I would not bank on getting a fourth fast pass for anything decent that time of year. Book the mine train.

Book it, see if you can change it as dates get closer...I'm there 10 day before you, and a 7DMT was available this morning when there hadn't been any open since my 60 days (had one then lost it to a glitch).

So book that one, and just check back and see if you can change the time every couple of days...people are shuffling times around alot between now and then, you should luck out.

I wouldn't feel frustrated. I would feel grateful that there was any time available for this coveted fast pass. I would work my other times around it;)

That's the busiest time of the whole year. Get there super early, go there first and ride standby.

Staying offsite and going to Magic Kingdom for the first time since the MagicBand/FastPass + version. Didn't get up at midnight or stayed awake for it either. Logged on for my Magic Kingdom FastPasses for the Sunday after Thanksgiving, which I knew would be a busy time. All FastPasses gone. Oh well, we are doing Jungle Cruise instead.

BUT - we will do Magic Kingdom in style. Why? Because we are on vacation and away from work and home. One attraction we don't get to do doesn't mean the world will stop revolving.

Quit chastising her and taking her quotes out of context. She said "seems" very clearly.

For my part, I hope you get something good to open up for you.

You forgot to quote her fully. She said "SEEMS like everything is unavailable."

Ok-

seems like everything is unavailable

By this, do you mean you can't get sdmt for the time you want?

Like it better? I was interested in knowing if that was her only problem or perhaps she was having issues with other rides. Not sure what it is you're objecting to, but I don't see a lot of chastising going except for your posts.

OP....if that late time doesn't work for you or your plans, I would try to choose something else. If you don't mind riding late, then go for it. :goodvibes I really wouldn't bank on getting a fourth FP that time of year anyways.

The misquoting gets to me too. I thought it was clear that OP couldn't get SDMT at an acceptable time. I gathered she felt frustrated in the moment.

I did not take it to mean that, literally, nothing was available.

Keep trying to score it for one person, then copy your plans to your whole party. That occasionally works. If not search each person 1 at a time, then try to change the time. I booked 39 days out and there were none for 3, but was able to get 3 individual ones at

2:15-3:15
2:45-3:45
3:00-4:00

Giving us a 15 minute window to ride together.
