I've been lurking for awhile now but thought I would check on how you were doing? It's been awhile now since you last posted and im kinda wondering if Baby Ava is here already
Well either way get lots of rest.....i have a three year old and am 6 and a half months pregnant now so I know what I'm talking about!!!
I'm sorry I haven't check in lately!! I went into labor 2 more times and they stopped it yet again. Miss Ava is still baking away and I've been doing great for the last few days! I believe she's settled down now. I am now 2cm dilated and 80% effaced. My OB is hopeful that I'll make it to the 30th which is my scheduled induction date. We are having to keep an eye on me though and I have apts every 3-4 days because I'm extremely swollen, my blood pressure is going up, and I'm spilling protein in my urine - so they are watching me for pre-ecclampsia. Bus as of right now we are fine and hoping Ava holds on until our scheduled date of December 30th. Ava's definitely dropped and I've I though I would share a comparison pic from 33 weeks to 35 weeks!
Just wanted to pop in for an update! We had our beautiful little girl!! Friday December 19th I went in for a regular OB appointment and was sent for blood work for extremely elevated blood pressure and protein in my urine. That evening my blood pressure went up to 180/120 while I was at home, my vision was blurry, I was shaky, and had a terrible headache. I called my OB who told me to head on up the birthing center. They kept me overnight for some tests and at 8am diagnosed me with pre-eclampsia and started me on magnesium sulfate. They also decided since I was at 38 weeks it would be best to go ahead and deliver, so they gave me cervadil, then broke my water, then started my pitocin. My labor officially started at 8am. After 12 hours of labor my OB checked me and I was only at 6cm - and my blood pressure was starting to go up even with the mag sulfate. She said if I didn't show a good bit of progress within the next hour we would need to talk about a C-section. At 9:30 I was still 6cm - maybe 7cm so they decided a C-section was necessary.
Ava Brooklyn was born at 10:27pm on December 20th. She was 19.75" long and weighed 6lbs 13oz. She was absolutely perfect!
We were able to go home on December 23rd. My recovery is going good, but slow as expected. Ava is doing great!
Congratulaions from a long-time lurker! She's beautiful. Hope you had a lovely Christmas with little Ava, and that you and your DH are looking forward to a fantastic New Year with your new addition to the family!
She is so precious! Alexa got here a bit early too, on her Daddy's birthday, December 16th at 11:45am. We'll have to take the princesses to Disney at the same time one year!
Thanks so much everyone!!! Ava is such a great baby!! We've had a few rough nights, but she has slept through the night for the last 3 nights which is great. She's three week old today and finally over 7lbs - she's such an itty bitty!!
So, there's a *slight* chance we might splurge with our tax returns (since Miss Ava got us a few more deductions by coming early!) and head down to Disney for 7 nights for the buy 4 get 3 free deal!! I won't know for sure for another week or so, but it's in the thinking process!! I'm just not sure about taking Ava so young.... I'm sure she would be fine though!! We are looking at either the 3rd or 4th weeks in February or the 1st week in March. I'm leaning more towards March to avoid the President's Day crowds....
Well it's official!! We are going to Disney SOON!!! March 3-10 We are staying at POP Century, Dining plan, and basic tickets!! More info coming soon!! Booking TONIGHT!
I have just come across your PTR and just read through this whole thread
