I had typed up this entire review and then as I was finishing the last sentence my hand slipped and the page changed.. lost everything. So I had a glass of wine last night. Lol...
Round 2... We had a 6:30 reservation for Fulton's. I knew we would end up going earlier. We showed up around 4:45 to Fulton's for dinner.
We checked in and were given a beeper. They told us it might be awhile (even though NO ONE else was checking in at the time or waiting...) We took a seat and waited...
I had been here once before with my DD on our girls only trip. We had a great meal. My dad & I are huge seafood fans so I was hoping this would be a great meal again...
The kids started getting antsy... about 15 minutes after they gave us the beeper, it went off. I think they just were getting sick of listening to the kids goof off.. lol.
We were seated on the first floor right around the corner from where we checked in. We were next to a window so we could look outside. It began getting dark out and we saw the volcano go off at Rainforest Cafe. Very neat. The view out the windows:
We were given the yummy crackers with the crab dip. This stuff is ridiculously good. I could eat this the whole night and be happy. We were given 2 plates of it.. .the kids liked the crackers by themselves of course.
My dad ordered this drink:
I don't recall the name... it was something tropical. It was non alcoholic. I wish I had taken a picture of the beverages on the menu... DS ordered something with mango in it:
I tried a sip and it was luke warm. He seemed to like it though. I was glad I didn't have to drink it. DD got a strawberry daquiri (virgin).. now hers was YUMMY!
Appetizers..
The kids were told that they could order any of the appetizers, including anything off of the adult's menu. Yay! DD ordered the Lobster Corn Dogs - salsa verde, sweet chili aioli $14. She must have remembered that I ordered them on our last trip.
Well, once again, these were amazing! The aioli is fantastic!!! DD really enjoyed them... she was the envy of the rest of us. Here's a picture of her really enjoying it...
DS ordered fresh fruit.
My dad & sister both ordered the New England Clam Chowder - New England style, rich, white clam chowder - loaded with clams $8.
They really enjoyed it. I ordered the Crab Cake - Jumbo lump blue crab, roasted corn maque choux, fried green tomato, remoulade sauce $15.
I thought I was being pretty safe ordering the "crab cake" at the "crab house". It was good. Lots of crab. The tomato underneath gave it a good contrast. The corn was a little blah but I finished the rest of it with no problem.
Entrees..
DS ordered the Fish of the Day - Chef's daily selection grilled with cut corn $10 with french fries instead of the corn. He did not care for this because it was grilled... it had a very potent char flavor to it. Normally I would've loved something like this. It almost tasted like a steak.
DD ordered the Chicken Tenders - grilled or fried, with cut corn $8. She liked these.. almost ate a whole one so that was a good sign. It's your standard chicken tender dish at Disney..
My sister ordered first. We had all talked about wanting lobster here so I knew she would be getting lobster. She simply told the waiter lobster and he asked if she wanted the Narragansett to which she replied yup. I knew at that moment that she had no idea what she just ordered... again. Well, when it came to the table, she was surprised that hers didn't look anything like ours.
Narragansett, Rhode Island Lobster - One pound and a quarter lobster, shrimp, scallop, spinach and mushroom stuffing, toasted breadcrumbs $49.
I had that last time and LOVED it. Besides the yummy filling, you still have the claws and tail to enjoy all that lobster meat. My sister said it was okay. ???
Dad & I ordered the lobster boil. I can't recall how much it was but I want to say $51 each.
I thought it was great. My dad said the lobster was a little tough. Honestly, I'd probably order the Narragansett if I were to return.
After our entrees, the service seemed to slow down considerably. There was a family that was seated next to us. A younger child (probably 7 or 8 years old) ordered crab legs and she must have been having issues cracking them. Our waiter stood there and cracked all of her crab legs for her (which took about 10 minutes). Had I known this service was offered, I would've ordered crab legs. I hate cracking them!
Eventually he took our plates and brought out the dessert menus. We ordered quickly because we were already at 2 hours for this meal...
Desserts..
My sister got a crème brulee. It was your standard crème brulee.. nothing special so I didn't take a picture. She said it was good.
Dad passed on dessert.
DS ordered a root beer float which came with the bottle of root beer on the side. He loved it.
DD ordered the Make Your Own Sundae of course. She loved it...
I got the Key Lime Pie. It was good but not enough crust to cut the sour taste for me... Loved the topping though!
Then our waiter took forever to get the check. I actually stood up and then he brought us over the check... we were there for about 2 ½ hours which is much too long of a meal for us (especially with having the kids there). Everyone was getting antsy.
Overall, I would give Fulton's 6/10. It didn't blow me away this time... the food was good and the atmosphere was nice but the service just ruined it for us.
The meal would've costed us $302.99 without the dining plan! For that amount of money, I think you should be 110% satisfied.
