Ive looked and looked but have not found an answer to this question...Can anyone tell me the difference, other than size, between the swan and dolphin...and why you would prefer to stay at one over the other
Thanks:)

The Dolphin offers more area to enjoy. The Lobby is a lot bigger with more areas to sit, relax, maybe enjoy an adult beverage.
I believe the Dolphin also offers more dinning choices. Shulas offers delicious steaks. Of course you can still access these restaurants while staying at the Swan.
You will also find more rooms with balconies at the Dolphin.
Both are nice hotels but I think the Dolphin has a grander feel about it.

swan has queen beds dolphin has doubles (not all that much difference)
swan has 2 sinks dolphin has one

dolphin is more active & lively , swan is quieter, subdued

jillz,

Since I have never stayed at either resort, I’m probably not the best person to answer your question. I did recently face the same dilemma, though, and I chose the Swan for a visit in May. I know a lot of people prefer the Dolphin because it’s bigger and has more amenities, but most are things I don’t care about. Some of differences I noticed are that the Dolphin has a bigger lobby, laundry facilities, and Tubbi’s Buffeteria which is open 24 hours. The Grotto Pool may be more convenient to the Dolphin, but I’m not sure about that.

The Swan, however, has just undergone a major room refurbishment. The rooms now have “Heavenly Beds” that are supposed to be exceptionally comfortable and the whole room décor has been upgraded. Now that I care about -- a good night’s sleep after a day in the parks!

The Dolphin is just starting the same sort of refurbishment, and you didn’t say when your trip is. Maybe the Dolphin will have been upgraded by the time you get there. I’m not sure what their timetable is. You can see pictures of old and new rooms at http://wdwig.com/g_swan.htm

Thanks for all of your comments...i can see that swan is quieter and dolphin has more activity...my ressie is for easter week and it is for the dolphin ..probably better for dd 13...i did want swan because of those heavenly beds though...thanks for all of your feedback...really looking forward to my trip:)

We'll be at the Dolphin for part of that week also. I'll have to remember my lime green ribbon.

i'll be sure to look for you...have a ball:D

We checked out of the Swan on March 17th and our club level room had not be throught the renovation, it was nice, but didn't have the pretty white bedding.
