compare Everest to Thunder Mountain??

What are your thoughts on Everest compared to Thunder Mountain? We've done TMR and my kids love it, but have never been on Everest. Are they similar at all in intensity? My kids also do like Space Mountain if that helps. I'm not a fan of SM, think TMR is a lot more fun and not so shaky and awful! Is Everest like either of them?

And another thought: what about comparing it to Rock n Roller Coaster? Is Everest more or less intense/scary?

I've done Everest only once, BTMRR several times, and have never done Space Mountain.

Everest is "bigger" and more intense than BTMRR, but not jerky. Parts of EE are in the dark. The drops felt scary-STEEP to me (and I love Splash Mountain). EE also has the "backwards in the dark" part that makes you feel like you're going upside down even though you know you're not. I'd say EE is the "big brother" of BTMRR. If your kids love BTMRR and are game to "kick it up a notch," try EE.

I'd say Everest is definitely more intense than BTMRR. With that said my kids have rode rode Everest as soon as they were tall enough and didn't have any problems. I think it boils down to all kids are different as far as what they can handle or are scared of. If your kids do fine on BTMRR and Space Mountain, I wouldn't hesitate trying Everest.

I agree, EE is way more intense than BTMRR and Space Mountain. The backwards part is somewhat scary and I always feel like we are going to crash into another coaster!

Everest is definitely a few steps up the intensity ladder from BTMRR and (slightly less so) Space Mountain.

It's a very smooth coaster, but the backward segment packs a punch. I think it is AWESOME, but the sensation of going backwards up a big hill took me by surprise the first few times.

That said, if your kids like Space and BTMRR, I think they will love Everest. Ride it in the daylight hours first to ease in... I tried it for the first time at night a few days ago. The night ride is excellent but WAY scarier than riding in the day imo.

Big difference g forces and no g forces. BTMRR is a kids roller coaster EE is an actual roller coaster.

I love BTMRR. I've ridden EE twice and have gotten horribly nauseated both times. I can ride most anything -- love coasters. But there's something about the g forces on EE that really bothers me. No more attempts for me.

Yes, Everest is more intense than Thunder Mountain. However, if they can handle Space Mountain, they should be fine. The nice thing is that it is much more smooth than Space Mountain. It is basically a smoother, bigger, better, quieter, Thunder Mountain.

Everest is way more intense. DB and I both love roller coasters and have been on all sorts with no trouble, but were both very ill after riding Everest. We had to get some drinks and sit down for a while before we felt like we could enjoy doing anything else. No idea why.

We like both, but EE is way more intense. Just the going up the first big lift is intimidating. My girls have always enjoyed both. My 6 year old, however, loves BMTTR and there is no way I could get him on EE. No way. My DH also isn't a fan of EE. I love it, though!

Everest is definitely more intense than Space Mountain. DS rode it for the first time at 6. He said that he would never ride it again because of the yeti The yeti scared him more than the coaster. He rides it now though. The drop feels different to me, since it's backwards. I actually don't mind it, because I don't feel like I am going to fall out of my seat. Plus, you can't see how steep the drop is, since it's behind you. They should give it a try. The queue is really cool too, with lots of details. I only rode it for the first time in July, and we always were moving very quickly through the queue.

EE is not in the same class of coaster as Space and BTMRR, but it IS DD6's very favorite ride period. Only one way to find out how y'all will react, right?

BTMRR is a lot smoother. My son loved it from the very first time age 6

It's a bigger ride but if they're OK with SM they'll probably be fine on EE. It's pretty smooth as roller coasters go <--Yeti...portrayed by wookie.

As others have mentioned, Everest is more intense than Space or BTMRR. It's not only fast and goes backwards, but also there's a height factor element that needs to be noted for those potentially afraid of heights. When you are ascending the mountain, you see how very high up you are, and there is nothing to your side, just air. None of the kiddie coasters have that height.

I've been on Everest many times but never done BTMRR. I always though that Everest wouldn't be classed as intense because its one huge drop. I guess I should give BTMRR a try on my next trip.

There are two parts of Everest that I tell people about who are cautious about trying the ride for the first time:
1. Everest has a part of it that goes backwards in the dark for a few seconds. Because it's in the dark, it makes it feel like it's going faster and there is one part where you go uphill backwards. That part can seem intense for some people
2. The other part is the G-forces. After the big drop you go into a kind of circle a few times and the G-forces push you down and back in your seat for a little while.

It is more intense than BTM and SM

But it's tons of fun!!! My mom, who can do BTM but doesn't like SM, tried Everest once or twice. She was fine but she won't do it again lol
