I'm heading to Disneyland in January and I have a friend who works in entertainment who has offered to take me to the companyD store down from the parks, and also the character warehouse at fullerton? I'm pretty enthralled by the sound of companyD, has anyone been and could tell me what kind of stuff they have? I only get to the parks once every 3 or 4 years so love to shop BUT have to fly back to NZ afterwards and have a very strict baggage allowance :sad1: Also is it worth going over to the character warehouse or is this similar to the normal Disney stores?

Sorry for all the questions any help would be great! :thumbsup2

I can't answer about Company D (though I think I'd probably want to go just for the experience!).

But I would NOT personally go to the Character Warehouse if your luggage is so limited, unless it's on the way and/or you think it would be a nice way to spend time with your friend. I've only been once but they really didn't have anything that was worth the drive--I walked out with nothing and my friend bought a scrapbooking kit at an OK price. So when I went I was very disappointed--it's not that they have more things than a Disney Store, but different things. There may be some deals but I don't think I'd bother if I had to be selective in my purchases.

I have gotten to go to Company D a few times, and there is no way to tell you what's gonna be there. It's always totally different. One time I found like $150 worth of stuff to buy, another time I spent like $30. I'd say go if you can, it's well worth an hour or so of your time. I'm serious about the hour thing. You'll need at least that long to take a look at everything they have to offer.

Company D can have a lot of great items. The prices are very good (1/2 off park prices.) It really depends on what you are looking for.

Character Warehouse - Really hit or miss. Last few times, I haven't bought anything.

I agree. One time I went and bought sweatshirts shirts and alot of stuff and the last time I was there I bought pins for trading and that's all. Definately hit or miss.

Ok, thanks for all the advice everyone :) Think i'll definitely go down to companyD but will give the character warehouse a miss, thanks :goodvibes

The Offsite CoD is amazing, so if you have a chance to shop there, do it. Look around carefully, it is very large.

I went crazy there once, even bought a Princess Leia Minnie Mouse big fig. Lucky for me, the CMs there directed me to a UPS located a few blocks away! I shipped it right home to NJ, and another box of clothes and misc items.

I agree with what everyone has told you. I was going to suggest what PatMcDuck has offered. I would plan on mailing stuff home rather than pay the high penalties with the airlines.
I have found some wonderful treasures at the Fullerton outlet, but have left empty handed just as often.
The CoD store is amazing. I found so much there. I kept Christmas in mind and purchased quite a bit. :rolleyes1 When my Husband realized the savings and that I had held to my Christmas shopping (pretty much) he was excited as well. The merchandise is not old for the most part. I found so many things that were current in the parks. As stated before at 50% off. But I also found things that were marked down way more than that. Also, while you are looking around they are constantly bringing out new merchadise. You could very easily spend more than an hour shopping at CoD. :tink:

Ok, now I'm intrigued! Could someone tell me what Company D is? I haven't heard of it before this thread. :)

Thanks that might be a great idea for me to ship stuff home, last time I came to the US I bought an extra suitcase which was empty on my journey over, just to take my souvenirs home on the way back, don't get me wrong we have good shops here but shopping in the US is amazing, especially at Disney :goodvibes I'm moving out soon and am collecting homewares for my new place, I want lots of Disney stuff so may go nuts, think my $150 budget may have to go! :rotfl:

Hi :) CompanyD is a discount store down from the parks that offers park merchandise that is not in the parks anymore for sale, you need a castmemeber with an ID to sign you in (or out) :thumbsup2

We were thrilled with our trips to Co. D! We got pins for $2 a piece a couple years back. :)
