What should I expect from a resale broker? I emailed an offer in last night. Went to work today. No response all day. I finally had a chance to call the broker, and she claimed to have never received it. Took down my info and said she'd send a detailed email immediately and contact the seller. I've still heard nothing 4 hours later. I have a very busy job and am at a concert this evening, so I can't call 5 times a day. Is this typical? I went through dvcmagicresales.com

Seems a little weird, if made a few offers and usually heard back right away. At least an email that they received an offer. Different companies though. Not the one your talking about. If you see another contract that you like, I wouldn't hesitate to make another offer.

If they're not responding the way you like, I'd move on. give them one last chance and tell them you will move on to another broker if they don't follow through.

We bought resale with dvcresalemarket.com and they were very responsive with both emails and phone calls.

I am surprised to read this. Rachel and Sharon were great when they worked for Fidelity. Still, there is no reason to deal with poor service when there are other brokers who are excellent. I would definitely explore other sites.

Sometimes they are not able to reach a seller immediately. I've never had a broker call me just to let me know they haven't gotten in touch yet. I've only had communication back when they have a response.

Should I call again tomorrow? Or wait for her (Rachel) to contact me? I'll probably call again in the morning, but hoping that I won't have to keep calling every step of the way.

If you called the agent, they took down your information and offer, I would wait. Unless it is an amazing offer that cannot be matched, i would wait. I would also keep looking at what else is available. When we put in our offer, I heard back the next day with a counter offer. Not sure if that is typical or we got lucky.

Buyers are excited and expect instant responses as if the broker and seller are waiting for the phone calls, they aren't. The seller may check email once a week, may be on vacation, or is busy with life. If you don't like the wait, move on to another broker/seller.

Many here submit their offers with the stipulation that it is only good until (time frame you need for a response). If you do that, there's no need to wonder if you're obligated to wait, pester a broker or feel badly if the time passes without a response. You just move on to the next contract.

OP - Hope you hear back favorably very soon

That would have been a good idea! It's not the end of the world either way. It's my first try, and it won't be my last since it's a small contract anyways. Small enough that I can pay cash now though, and loaded with enough points for my next trip, so I do hope it comes through.

Well, let's hope you get good news. Post back to let us know. Good luck!

We made an offer with that site and had zero communication. Googled it and found others that said communication was slow / lacking as well.

Before buying my current DVC I also contacted dvcmagicresales and they responded to my offer with a standard mail, and then I heard nothing. I contacted them after a few days, and they promised to contact the seller. After 60 days I still hadn't heard anything and now I have stopped counting the days. I ofc just moved on, but will definitely not use dvcmagicresales.com as I don't consider them serious brokers.
