Communicating with your school about the CP?

So... I did this a little backwards. I applied for the Spring 2010 WDWCP and was accepted as FSFB, yay! :cool1: But I haven't discussed it with my school at ALL. :sad2: Silly of me, I know. So I have an advisor appointment next Wednesday and I'll probably stop by our Center for Career and Professional Development...

So my question is: what process did you go through/who did you talk to at your school about doing the program? I go to a small liberal arts school and we don't have any campus reps or anything... I know people have done the CP before, but I don't know them and I don't know how they went about this process.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I'm currently doing the same thing. I have my interview in 3 hours!:eek: And I haven't spoken to my school at all. I think if I do get accepted, even if my school isn't willing to help, I'll do it anyway because... it's DISNEY!

Congrats though!

I'm not sure who to talk to either. I wouldn't be doing the CP for another semester or two (after Spring 2010), but I want to talk to someone to see how credits will work, what it would do to my scholarship, etc. I've got an appointment on Tuesday to talk with an advisor about my schedule for next semester, so I'll bring it up then. Unfortunately, my school is so huge that people can be a bit clueless, and if she doesn't know anything then I have no clue who to talk to.

I'm having to talk to our career services department. The head of my major's department told me our school didn't allow paid internships for school credit, but he suggested for me to go to the guy in career services and I believe that guy said that people have done the CP here and have gotten credit for it. I still have to call to set up an official appointment. I think what we have to do is enroll in this business co-op education course that's like an official internship class. Or something like that.

I'm going through the same sort of thing with my school.

I'm the first ever to go from Wesley but I have time to try and get credit for my program.

I met with my advisor a while ago, and she didn't know anything about the program, at all! It was pointless... but oh well haha.

I went to talk to my advisor and career center already, and I dont apply for the Fall 2010 until February! I'm just very excited! haha

hahaa neither did mine! Mine looked at me like I was crazyyy!

I was so surprised that everyone at my school seems to know about the program! I didn't expect them to at all, but apparently students from my little community college have done this before! Cool!
