Does anyone have any advice to try and get rid of my DD cold, she has had it for approx 6 months.

Sometimes it clears for a day or two, then comes back.

The only symptons she has is a runny nose, (NOT GOING TO DESCRIBE THE COLOUR) lol :rotfl2:

I know they is not point taking her to the DR, as they will just kick us out of the door, and i'm a beliver in only going when a limb is hanging off, lol.

Is there any remedies i can give to her she is 4.

I would go to the Doctors even though you don't want to, there must be problem to have a runny nose this long.Insist something is done such as a referal to the hospital, there is probably something they can do quite easily to rectify the problem the poor little mite is suffering from. Other than that I suppose you have asked at your local pharmacy?

I would take her to see your GP, she could possibly have an infection in her nasal mucosa. She will need antibiotics to clear it up.

Hope so too.

She had a her school photos done couple of weeks ago and here's hoping the teachers wiped her nose before hand.

Last week she had her class photo taken outside just before she finished for the day, i sat and watched her, she was allowed straight home as i was waiting and yep her nose was caked, and i quizzed her about where she was sitting hoping she was at the back, cause in ten or so years what a memory that would be lol.

She could have allergies not a cold. I always have a runny nose and sneezing and when I went to the doctor they said it was Allergic Rhinitis. Basically allergies to dust, pollen etc. It's like having hayfever all year round

Hi

I would take her to the GP especially if the mucus is green. She could have an infection. Also speak to your GP I take eichencia (sorry cant remember how to spell it) its a herble remedy I take I used to get frequent colds either from patients, hubby or kids it wasnt nice and then another nurse recommended these and I have had only a couple since then.

Yep, just an hour to go before we leave for the docs.

Collected her photos, sigh of relief, nose is clear, :rotfl2:

I post with the outcome when i return.

Another vote for eachinacea here! I always take it whenever I feel like I am coming down with something and it clears it right up!

was going to suggest she could have something stuck up her nose! like a bit of bead, crayon etc.

emma, i also have this, had it for a few years now, it really is horrible, i am now having a nasal scan to see if they are infected. and i have a new nasal spray to try.. i was at the hospital yesterday over it!

Well she got a bottle of antibotics, for a infection, without the dr checking her over.
Took one look and the prescription was printed off.

If this does not work she will have to go on anti-histamines (sorry about the spelling).

She is not a child that sticks things in her mouth or up new nose thankfully :rotfl2:

I'm glad you got to the bottom of it. Anti histamines are always a good bet for this time of year too.

Netty, I tried the nasal sprays but they gave me nose bleeds. No I just take anti histamines and basically blow my nose a lot :lmao: When the pollen season is high the tablets don't do that much. I'm pleased to say everyone is used to my sneezing fits

Me 3 Netty & Emma!! I was told I had nasal polyps and that there is an operation to rectify it but there is a chance that they can break the thin bone at the top of the nose between the eyes which can cause a worse infection including menigicoccal septecemia......No thanks I've put up with it for over 30 yrs now think I can manage without a sense of smell (came in handy when I had to change the kids nappies!!) :lmao: !

Hope the antibiotics work for her, not a nice thing to have to put up with though
Sorry forgot to add my son & daughter went through a patch of pretty much the same, constant runny noses and we switched from cow's milk to goats milk. Some people dont realise they have an allergy to cow's milk, it tastes the same and they didn't notice the change but less snot now! Could be worth a try?

I also have it! It runs through my whole family. My dad has had the operation to improve it but it didnt work. I just use a nasal spray and lots of tissues!!

Tissues!! I think we keep kleenex in business :lmao: I recon if we save the money we spend on tissues we could probably afford to go to WDW every month!! and possibly my SIL would stop calling me typhoid Lil :rotfl2:
