I know that we had one going at the beginning of last year and have talked to a couple of people that thought it helped them. This is not one specific challenge thread. You set your own committment and post on how you are doing. For me I know that I am participating in a couple of challenges, but need to really work on eating more veg's right now. Then once I get that under control I'll change to what I really need to work on next. Let me know and if there is enough interest, I'll start the post on Monday and start that as week 1 of our committment.

This 1/2 marathon helped me get motivated and inspired to get in better shape and get myself back into my routine of exercising and taking time for myself. I'm ready to get healthy again and get moving. :moped:

Me please! I am really struggling on picking an eating plan. I think I would do best with SouthBeach once I get past Phase 1. I really have a self-control problem with cookies and desserts, I am thinking I would be better off if I just could not even have one. Once I get started I just can not seem to stop.

I am aslo committed to getting at least 1500 mins of exercise this month and every month. I have a lot of work to do to meet that goal this month, but I will do it!

Christy

Tammy~it was so nice to meet you and your family at the Boardwalk Bakery. I hope you had a great trip!

Hi Tammy,
You know I'm in!!! Woo hoo! I've been waiting for you to start and I'm ready!
I've done good since I have been back at home. Went from weighing 155.8 the morning after I got home to 150.8 this morning! WOO HOO! Last night was my first exercise since I was home. I did 60 minutes on the TM, I did an extra long cool down at a slower pace to get my legs back into moving! This morning I'm getting ready to do the FIRM Total Sculpt plus abs.

My commitment is to start working out regularly, drink enough water and stay OP.

Thanks again Tammy! I'm so glad we got to meet this weekend! This thread last year was a life changing moment for me! :grouphug:

Count me in too! I have the meal plan thing under control... My commitment is to a more serious exercise plan. I need to get up and get going... and after reading this post.. I am... getting off this computer.. and getting my butt in gear. Thanks for the motivation!

Kathy

Commit me to cutting down on caffeine and drinking more water. :drinking1
I'm not a big water fan, so I'm also using decaf iced teas.

And the usual...eating less, exercising more....

I'd be interested in this. I just weighed in for the Discovery Heatlh National Body Challenge and am committed to exercising regularily and drinking 64 oz water/day.

tammy -- i'm here! i haven't gotten back on track since returning from WDW and my committment is to recommit to 5 days a week exercising and eating within my points -- starting tomorrow :) he he he -- one last hurrah day for me and then sock it to me!

Woo hoo I just did the FIRM Total Sculpt!! I've exercised consistantly two days in a row!! It's like learning to walk. One foot in front of the other!

Looks like we have some takers on the committments. Keep up the pace if you have already started and I'll post the actual thread on Monday morning. I'm sad to say that we are on our drive home from Disney, so back to reality for me too. I actually didn't do too bad eating while at WDW, DH & I split any meal that we could and we still had plenty to eat. We are eating some fudge right now and drinking regular pepsi to stay awake.

Commit me to not eatting any fast food after today, as well as any sweets. I was doing really well until after the marathon. I got all sorts of weird cravings (someone is my office told me that is normal after a marathon run). Also commit me to running and cross training at least 5 times per week.

Commit me to staying OP. I use to give myself one cheat day and I don't want to do that this time. I think that, that cheat day was my downfall last time. I also want to commit to getting enough sleep so that when I go into work at night I am awake enough to go into the gym and get my 45 minutes of cardio in. Eventually, I am going to commit to lifting again, but I'm not ready for that yet.

Melissa

*Edited to add ~ I want to commit myself to stay off of the scale everyday!

I am restarting TODAY - I think I have to print a note for that reminder on my fridge today :earboy2:

I am signing a contract with myself today and it will be including counting WW points, journaling, no eating after 7 PM and no alcohol. Also, exercising just like I have been accustomed to tmilling and doing some strength training.

I have some folks at work who are holding me accountable as well as my buddies and I am going for the GOAL this time.

Grammy inspired me with the words..."Going for the Goal!" That's what I'm talking about! The "GiGi" girls..."GoalGrabbers"..."GoalGetters"...whatever you want to call it...LET'S DO IT!!! I lost over 50 pounds over a year ago with WISH...then I've been sidetracked by life and have lost that spark that got me down so far....I think I'm about 10 pounds more than I was a year ago but still fitting into my 14's...but I really need to fit into my 10's and 12's that have been waiting in my closet for over 8 months!

Life is just going to happen...and I might as well live it healthily than in this cycle of rewarding myself with homemade chocolate chip cookies whenever I feel like I need a lift. The bad part is I've needed a lift alot more lately...dh took a job in another state last MARCH! We've been unable to sell our house...all the new construction is selling in our neighborhood and ours is 3 years old...and now we're facing possibly losing our custom built house in the other state because it's nearly finished and we can't afford two houses. The kids are so sad without their Daddy here during the week and we've done this long enough...I'm just afraid committing to a diet or change will make the flood gates open up and I'll become a wad of jello.

But reading Grammy's note of Going for Goal sparked something in me and I want to get to the 150's...no looking back until I see that number on my scale...it can be 159.5 for all I care but I'll get there....I figure I've got 40 pounds to go so count me in and I'm committed or I'll be committed...

Tara

I love the words, "Going for the Goal". I think we may have a new motto as it could be for whatever goal you are setting for yourself. It doens't have to be a weight goal, just a personal goal. We'll start the thread tomorrow.

GOING FOR THE GOAL!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Count me in - I am always lurking about, popping up here and there. Basically I am disgusted with myself. There are so many issues I need to commit to that I don't know where to start but here goes

No eating after 7:30pm (does that count when we go out with friends? help me on that one)

Exercise program that will keep me and these arthritic knees interested!!

And until I can figure out an eating plan I am working on smaller portion sizes.....

I am READY to GO FOR THE GOAL!! :flower1: :flower1:

Thanks for letting me be a part of it.

Have a magical Disney Day!! :earboy2:
Linda

Hey there! I'm in! I have GOT TO commit myself to drinking more water! It's so important for my body - and my body is thirsty for Diet Coke!

Linda - IMO - you should always leave room for indulgences, just not HUGE indulgences. Go out with your friends and eat smaller portions while you're out. Then hop right back on program the very SECOND you step out of the restaurant!

We'll have to e-mail each other at 7:30 - me to ask if you're done with eaing and you to ask if I've drank my water! :earboy2:

ok GFG wishers! day one for me here -- did my 2 mile WATP and then some stretching, followed by 20 min stability ball with Denise. I felt a bit crinky and stiff from taking a few days off after the 1/2; but all that matters now is back on track. i have so many unfinished tasks/projects around my house I need to try to tackle one or two things a week and focus on THAT and not snack my afternoon/evening away!

ok --Tara I totally relate to the Life is going to happen and we have to make a conscious decision NOT to let those bumps in the road affet our big picture of overall health - our choices and actions we take to support our healthy lifestyle will bring the weight loss as an added bonus! we can do it!!!

Ann-

Will be checking up on you tonight!! Keep after me - tonight is a good TV night will be trying to keep my hands busy with counted cross stitch instead of chips:):)

Have a magical Disney Day!!:):)

I have been lurking since I fell off the wagon some months ago but would love to jump on this committment! You are all such an inspiration!

I am committing to:

64 oz. water daily
stay on eating plan
treadmill 6 days a week/30 minutes
NO SODAS

This body is under new management!

I'm in ~ I'm committing to regular exercise, drinking more water, staying op and drinking less soda.
