Let me honest about me. I am a cynic. Always have been, always will be. When we first booked our hotel reservations, I thought the price of $185 for length of stay was outrageous, as we only had 2 park days (8 people in our party.) This photo package got Pitched to me multiple times when I called customer service. It was pretty annoying.

At some point I realized I could buy just a 1-day photo pass ( $75 )which we did for the MNSSHP we went to. I was honestly beyond impressed at how many photographers there were readily available to take some photos. Literally-we walked up to the photographers, asked if we could get a picture of us with this or that. I was so impressed we bought the photo pass for our 2nd day (Epcot) as well.

Not sure when we will get to Disney again…but next time I would not hesitate to purchase this add-on again.

I'm with you. I had always believed that pictures I took would be just as good as Photo pass pictures. Well, we took a family vacation to Disney with the kids and grandkids this year, and I sprung for Photo pass (mostly because the grandkids were along). Best pictures ever. One of my daughters even made a Disney photo book for us. It was fantastic!!

The process of getting pictures taken was easy, and the scenes that were added were fabulous.

Now, my husband and I are doing a short trip to Disney next year, and I don't plan to buy Photo pass for the two of us, but if we ever do a family trip again- you bet!!!

Photopass is totally worth it to me. I buy it every single trip. I like the on ride photos, i like magic shots, and I like stopping and taking pictures with the random photogs as well. I have never not felt like I got my money's worth. It just makes it so much easier to get great group photos with the entire family.

The first time we bought it we rationalized the expense as a one time special treat. Ended up with up with over 100 photos per day! And by the end of the trip had dozens of ‘frame worthy’ professional quality photos of our kids and family at a very precious time (aren’t they all?). We’ve been hooked ever since.

PRO TIP: For whatever reason it’s common for a few photos to go missing. The good news is they will be recoverable 99% of the time though it requires your help to locate them.

I don’t keep track of time/date/location of all the photos we take, but recommend doing so for the ones you will regret most if they somehow got ‘lost’. I’ve gotten in the habit of using my phone to take a pic of my wrist/magicband to record time/date/location. It’s the easiest way to compare against my photopass account.

If you can tell them ‘we took a set of pictures leaving Haunted Mansion sometime between 7-10pm on Oct 3rd’, extremely high chance they find them. They look at your account and see what your family looks like, and then quickly go through all the possible photos to find yours. They’ve even been able to recover pics we took in front of the castle, when they needed to look through several different photographers worth of footage to find us. You need to be aware the photos are missing, and give them enough info to work with.
