Comments about AKV value studio

This was my next to last stay of my 29 night DVC stay, and I had DF's staying in another, nearby, also pool and roof view. I really enjoy some of the amenities in this type of villa.

There are 2 guest robes in the closet. Instead of the little bottles of shampoo, conditioner and shower gel, there are tubes of lotion, and the others. The tubes are the size I've gotten on the Disney cruises we've been on. There are 2 little bottles of mouthwash, 2 toothbrush kits. We've gotten the USA Today on both weekdays I've been here.

We've gotten these things before, but not every time, so it is hit or miss, but these things added to my enjoyment.

DF's didn't want to purchase tix to the parks, so we did resort things, ate mostly in the room. Joyce is an excellent cook and manages to bring casseroles,cookies and other surprises. They are on a two week road trip from their NC home.

We did have an excellent dinner at Cali Grill on Sunday, on a clear night with viewing of Wishes. The animal sightings at the resort, here and at Kidani have been excellent. The shuttle between the buildings runs frequently and is convenient. The hot tubs are hot, just right!

I have another 5 night solo value stay in June, between weekend visits with my family. I loveAKV so much! But I love all of the DVC resorts!

Final stay this month, BLT with my DCuz, who is flying in today!

We ate dinner at the Mara on Saturday. The chef prepared what Df's hubby needed because he has celiac disease. All of the adults enjoyed the special of the day, salmon with almond sauce with the sides that we each could have. The kids all enjoyed something, with Mac and cheese being the most popular. One DGD especially enjoys Mickey's Milk!

I'm confused. Your thread title is "Comments about AKV value studio" but the description (bath robes, lotion, etc.) were things we've only been given when we stayed in a Concierge Level room. Did you really get these amenities in a Value room or is there a typo in your title?

No typo! Yes, I was in a value studio, and my friends were as we'll, and had the same amenities.

Our DDiL had to work Saturday night, so my DS and our 3 DGC were in a Standard view Jambo. That was booked at 4 months out, so there was no value rooms available for them. They also had the lotions in the tubes. DGDs were so happy, they love those lotions!

What I want to know is did you still get the USA today outside your door in the morning? You can have the robe and tubes of toiletries, but I love the USA today so I can sit on the balcony in the morning and do my sudoku puzzle! I'm so glad you had a great trip. I also love the AKV value studios. If you haven't left yet, be sure to say "Hi" to Rose in Mara for me. And have some butternut squash soup for me! I'll add Rose's picture when I get home from work. She's about 65 yo, formerly from Wisconsin.

Is this a new thing? We own and have stayed at AKV 4 times and never got a robe, etc......

Glad you are having such a great trip Bobbi....I wish we could stay at WDW for 29 days!

You are right about hit or miss!!! We were at AKV Wed. and Thurs. nights but only got the paper on Friday morning (not on Thursday morning!) no robe, no tubes of toiletries, no toothbrush/mouthwash, just regular bottles of toiletries.

So glad you are having an awesome time! Enjoy your grand finale!

Is this an extra 'value' in the Values or is this an across resort thing at AKV? We had a week in a 2 bed at Kidani and never saw a robe or a newspaper and just had the regular toiletries. Sounds great anyway and 29 days there must be amazing!

We've stayed at AKV three times. Our first stay was AKV Concierge Level and there were robes and lotion in the room. We've stayed at Kidani twice (Standard View the first time, Savanna View the second time) and just got the standard toiletries and no robes. This is the first I've heard that the Values have bath robes and lotion.

Yes, we got the USA Today on the weekdays we were there.

I stayed in a value 2 bedroom in September and didn't have the extras. However all 3 studios that I had booked for this stay, 2 values and 1 standard had the toiletries I mentioned.

We're in a 1 bedroom BLT, LV, 5th floor, nice view of pool and lake. Enjoyed a meal at Trails End then drinks and Wishes at TTOTW. Parks day tomorrow!
