Awesome reveal! I bet they are ecstatic! I wish my DS was old enough for clues... Maybe when I take him for his 5th birthday, I will surprise him... I don't know if I can keep a secret for that long!

Thanks! DS hasn't been feeling too well--he was sick over the weekend so he's not quite as excited as normal, but they are both happy! DD is making up for it--she can't hardly stand it--especially because of staying at AKL.

Yes, our trips do overlap. I'm hoping to run into some people at MVMCP on the 14th. Can't WAIT for that! It's really been a lot of fun reading everyone else's plans and planning together on the Dec. trip thread.

I think I really like you! You are so good for my ego!! I get all my creativeness (such as it is) from my mom and dad. They were the king and queen of surprises! My very favorite story is this:
We had a wood-burning fireplace in our living room when I was growing up. And we would always open our gifts on Christmas Eve (I guess it's a German tradition from my dad's side). Anyway, we had finished opening all our gifts and Dad wanted my brother and I to go out and put wood in the woodbox. We whined and complained and could NOT understand why we had to go out so late at night. "Come on Daaaaaad! We're ready to go to bed now? Why do we have to put wood in the woodbox? Can't we do it in the mooooorrrrrning?" (hear that in totally whiny kid voices). They insisted and when we finally went outside we both found brand spanking new shiny bicycles. We felt really bad that we had been so whiny! It's been a total joke in our family ever since then. And that was a LONG time ago! Every year after that Dad would hide a gift for us somewhere on the farm and we would have to go hunt for it....in the snow and cold....in the dark....with flashlights....on Christmas eve. But we loved it!

Anyway....I finally finished our countdown calendars for our trip. I had so much fun making them! Here they are:

I created each one on the computer and added clip art and photos for each day. Then I made tiny Mickey heads using my Disney cartridge for my Cricut. I added adhesive with my Xyron and wala! Each day the kids can put a Mickey head on the day. DD has already started counting down. She likes to put a sticker on and then count how many days are left. I love that girl!

I know!
But once these accounting exams are out the way.. it'll be late November and only 2 weeks til we head off to NYC and WDW!

Thanks! Just copy my idea! It's not hard. Really! Cut and paste thumbnails from the web into a chart and wala! Countdown calendar! You should see some of the things on the Creative Disigns board! Whoa--THOSE folks are creative!

I did notice that they were way more stocked than the rest of thepaint chips though so i assume it's because people like me take a bunch at a time! I actually ended up with a few extras

Thanks! I can't remember where I first got that idea....I did it last time we went to Disney too. DD is having fun putting up the mickey head every day.

I remembered another story about my Dad's creativity/sense of humor. He was a dairy farmer when I was little. My parents lived in a trailer on the farm and Dad had installed an intercom system between the trailer and the barn because mom was pregnant with me and he wanted her to be able to get him if she went into labor. So he hides the speaker for the house in the hall CLOSET. Then he goes out to barn, pushes the butten and says, "HO HO HO MERRY CHRISTMAS....IT'S SANTY CLAUS." About scared my mom to death...this strange voice coming from the closet!
