Commando v. Casual - The Innate Planner Battles the Inner Pirate - 2-8 P22

Holy cow 10 HOURS later...and a 2 hour wait...no way I would have waited but I can't wait to see how you figured it out!!

Your kiddos are just so adorable!! Love the pics!!!

You have a practicing Houdini on your hands :lmao: Awww too cute!!!!

Another fabulous update!!!!

I would be happy to come to your Tiaras Tutus whatever you called it, and take your pictures. I don't run.
Unless I'm being chased.
By something big and mean.
That will kill me.

But I'd love to see you all dressed up and running! You need someone to take group shots right? Call me.

12 HOURS!!??!!?? :scared1: That's just ridiculous! Whatever did you do???

I feel it is my duty, nay, my right to take such photos. One never knows when future girlfriends / fiancées / wives may need to see such things.

It's like Squirt has his own type of yoga.
"And now, class, we're going to transition into the Frog pose."

The Brown Derby. One of my favorites.

I took a gander recently at the BD menu and was relieved to see my Sterling Pork Chop still on th menu...until I saw it was no longer smothered in smoked gouda!!! :sad1:
I hate it when they keep a dish on the menu but 'play' with it.

I can only hope they never do that with my beloved Pork Tenderloin with Goat Cheese Polenta at CG.

And every time we would arrive at a park, he would be asleep.

Much like every time I reach the Hub at MK I must "go left"? ;)

See that picture of Squirt sleeping in the stroller? I want you to pay attention to that. Hold it in your mind. Ponder it a bit.

See...THAT'S how you can get your boy to nap on a daily basis with no fuss! Put him in the stroller and take him to Disney! And if you need help with that, as his godmother, I'm happy to make the sacrifice and tag along. ;)

Star Tours was our priority on this day.

I REALLY want to experience the new Star Tours but I REALLY don't want to lose my lunch. I foresee an afternoon full of Dramamine, a quick ride on Star Tours, and then an afternoon nap on the beach of the BC/YC to sleep off said Dramamine.

And I am not joking when I tell you that the fast pass return time at 1050 in the morning was a full TWELVE HOURS LATER.

I’m sorry.

I know.

But forgive me for a moment.

It’s ridiculous.

Really?

Really?

You know what's worse? The near violence BF and I witnessed in the mad rush to get FPs for this ride. Sure, it was all sanity from Hollywood Blvd. to Pixar Place, but once you were within sight of those FP machines, forget it. Sure they had "lines" in place but that didn't stop some woman in an ECV from almost mowing down a little girl who was in line, in front of her, standing still and waiting her turn. And then the lady had the audacity to yell at the little girl, who she didn't know from Eve, and tell her to stop "running in front of handicapped people". :sad2: It made me want to spit. What is WRONG with people?

Because there was no way that we could keep the kids up that late. Right? Right?

Well, I'm not sure. I suppose that would be a question of sanity!

I don't run.

I think the motto of this trip is the more the merrier, run or no run.

Speaking of which, did you know that you can do the 5K at a fast walk. Can I convince you? What if we had some kind of motivation at the end? What's your poison? ;)

12 HOURS!!??!!?? :scared1: That's just ridiculous!
Whatever did you do???

Yup. ::yes::

It's like Squirt has his own type of yoga.
"And now, class, we're going to transition into the Frog pose."

I swear, when I look at that, especially with the green onesie, he does look like a little frog!

I took a gander recently at the BD menu and was relieved to see my Sterling Pork Chop still on th menu...until I saw it was no longer smothered in smoked gouda!!! :sad1:

They do that a lot at Disney. Sometimes it's a seasonal issue...as I learned firsthand. Remember that meal at CG? Man, that was awesome. :thumbsup2

Much like every time I reach the Hub at MK I must "go left"? ;)

Do you know how much it killed me that Nemo wanted to go to the right? :lmao:

See...THAT'S how you can get your boy to nap on a daily basis with no fuss! Put him in the stroller and take him to Disney! And if you need help with that, as his godmother, I'm happy to make the sacrifice and tag along. ;)

HA!!! I'm afraid this is some foreshadowing right here, and sadly, it was not this simple. :lmao:

I'm with you. I am contented to hear about it from MJS. :thumbsup2

What is WRONG with people?

I don't think we have enough room here for me to answer that question.

Well, I'm not sure. I suppose that would be a question of sanity!

:lmao:

I am a little curious myself as to how this all worked out? :confused3

I can't wait to do Star Tours in December! I am riding it 5 times in a row I tell you! Maybe more! :rotfl:

Happy birthday, Squirt! :cheer2: A tad early, but one can never have too many birthday wishes. Just ask DD, whose birthday is today. She's been celebrating for a month already!

Twelve hours for FP return?!?!?! Yikes! And two-hour standby? Ha! Double ha! No stinkin' way, with or without kids. But Nemo soooo wants to go .... Anxious to hear how you resolved this.

OK, the tutus and tiaras are calling me. I've always wanted to do a Disney 5K, and the allure of tutus seals it. Trouble is, I don't run. (My doc actually told me once that I'm too "delicately strung.") But I can support the team! Since there's already a photog on board, I volunteer to be Water Girl. Or rather, Water Princess. princess: Fingers crossed for the OK on the PTR.

It's an interesting conundrum.

I can't wait to do Star Tours in December! I am riding it 5 times in a row I tell you! Maybe more! :rotfl:

MJS managed to get out in twice in this trip. Have you read about it? Apparently there's 50+ different ride combinations, so you're sure to have a different experience every time. :thumbsup2

Thank you! And Happy Birthday to your DD! :goodvibes

Yikes is right. :thumbsup2

Do you power walk? The requirement for a 5K is a 16 minute mile, but Tink said they're pretty easy going on that, some people she felt (when she did her 5K in Feb) were actually a bit slower than that.

If you don't, it's okay. I'm sure we could use a water princess. :thumbsup2

There were people behind me who were easily closer to a 20 min./mile pace. If you want to know what that feels like, find a treadmill and set it to 3.0 mph. If you can do that, or a little better, you'd stand a good chance of finishing.

They were a bit lax about the pace requirement, but only for the 5K, not the 1/2 marathon. I think, as long as everyone's set to finish by the time they need everyone done to break down and have the park operating as normal, it's all good. That was my impression.

Still waiting on the OK for the PTR. I'll let you know. If I don't hear anything I'll guess that we're ok. Regardless, I'll post something here for sure!

I'm SO into it.
2013 - Royal Family 5K (assuming the name doesn't change) - all of us lovely ladies. I'm IN!

Hot holy carp, the World would never be the same!

I would, seriously, start a PTR for it. It would be neat because it would put feelers out there for anyone who would want to join us. And we could all contribute. It would be like a bunch of mini-PTRs all in one. I'm just not sure if it would get 'shut down' on the PTR board for being too early if we seriously started it now.

Before I comment on your update, I'd just like to invite myself and say I'm in, if that's ok! I really want to do a Disney 5K someday, and I think it would be much more fun with a group! And I think I could definitely run one by 2013! :rotfl: I'm going to restart the Couch to 5K in the Fall, when it's a little cooler out!

I would LOVE to go to Star Wars weekends one year! I know they're crazy, but I love Star Wars, I think it would be so cute to see all the Disney characters dressed as Star Wars characters!

12 hour return for FP's at TSM? :scared1: That's ridiculous. I mean, really. When is the craziness for this ride going to die down a little? It's awesome, but come on!!! :rotfl:

I can't wait to see how this all turns out! :thumbsup2

Toy Story Midway Mania sure is a frustrating ride. It is a lot of fun, but the lines are ridiculous. They need to just build another one and be done with it, or swap it with Buzz Lightyear, since there's so much more to do in the Magic Kingdom to detract the crowds.

I hope you figured it out, and little Nemo got his ride.

EDIT: Actually...if they simply reinstated Fast Pass on the shows at DHS, it would help control the return time at TSMM, because people would have elsewhere to get Fast Passes.

I'm going to take a minute to whine....WHY is Toy Story Mania still so popular? It's been open for three years, it's time for people to not ride it anymore and leave it open for me...and Nemo of course. :rotfl2:

So yeah...12 hours is ridiculous. I know you are smart so you figured out how to ride this without the two hour wait or the 12 hour fastpass return. That's my guess anyways.

I adore the sleeping pictures, so super cute. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the birthday wishes. She had a totally spoiled-tastic day with Grandma, starting with piles of bacon and ending with double dessert!

Ooh! Yes, I can power walk! What a relief. Last year, I got the notion to do a 1/2 marathon, to benefit the charity for the cancer DH had. You will recall that I do not run. So of course, I thought I'd do a 13.1 run. Right. First thing I did was throw out my back. Know how I did that? Sitting at the 1st info session. :sad2: Clearly not meant to be. Anywho, I can walk. It's been a while since there was a whole lot of power in it, but by 2013 I'm sure I can be back to my old 15-minute miles. Whoo-hoo! I'm going to start planning my tutu!

I'm in total agreement here. It's a great ride, but it's getting ridiculous.

I can't wait to see how this all turns out! :thumbsup2

Again, total agreement. I think at some point, it's got to die down, right? I'm afraid it won't until they create something else new that is the next big thing. It's so popular because it's Toy Story, it's essentially like a video game, and everyone really loves that. But still. You're right. It's been open for quite some time.

Now I know that Buzz in the MK isn't the same caliber, but the hype on that died down to manageable eventually and that was crazy when it first opened. Maybe not as crazy, but still.

Thanks for the birthday wishes. She had a totally spoiled-tastic day with Grandma, starting with piles of bacon and ending with double dessert!

That sounds awesome!

And makes me want double dessert for breakfast. :lmao:

Kat, love the update. I just "love" those pictures for future girlfriends, fiances, etc. I've done it...and it is such fun to show the baby pictures to the boys' "girlfriends." :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Can't wait to see how it turns out with Star Tours and Toy Story Mania.

Happy Birthday to Squirt, but sorry that you have been missing your mom more than usual lately, TK!

Twelve hours for TSM Fast Passes??? Seriously??? That is ridiculous! I like the ride and all, but I don't think it is all that. I guess it's because it is the only true family friendly ride at DHS these days. Still, it blows my mind! Interested to see how things transpire for this day.

Thank you on both counts!

How is school going?

You know, I am so glad that all my DIS friends are having this type of reaction. I was worried that maybe I was getting soft in my planning / commando-nature, and letting the pirate overrun, but I can see by all your reactions that the twelve hour return, is indeed, not normal. :lmao:

How is school going?

I am officially finished, as of this past Wednesday, with classes until August 22nd. Of course, I go back to work a week from today, but I am trying not to think about that. ;)

Well, it may be normal -- TSM is always crazy with Fast Passes -- but it is still ridiculous. I wouldn't wait around that long -- like you said, thank goodness you have Park Hoppers!
