Hi there! I'm new here. I've been lurking for some time but finally thought I'd post. I'm sorry if this has already been asked but I was wondering, with the DVC villas at the Grand Floridian being complete, is 'Commanders Terrace' available for Escape weddings now? If not, what has replaced it as a location for the cake cutting celebration? Thanks :goodvibes

Oh no, nobody knows?? :confused3

:sad1: Well, does anyone know who I can contact to find out?

I'm not planning anything yet, so I'm sure I can't email DFTW...

I suspect it's too new to know. It depends on how dvc is using the room. If it's reserved for dvc guests primarily, then the likelihood that it will be available decreases. If, on the other hand, it's a private space that groups can use, like the attic at the boardwalk, then you might be able to use it. Generally speaking, sites that are primarily for dvc guest use would not be available.

I asked the Disney wedding coordinator and this was his reply to the cake cutting location: "We still sometimes use Commander’s Terrace, but more often use locations within the Grand Floridian Convention Center since they can better accommodate a group of 20 people."
