The good news...those four reporters have provided us with 10 great updates!


So let's go ahead and get started with our First Update of the Day sent to us this morning by anniebean.


She and Geoff had dinner last night at Magic Kingdom's...

































Geoff started with the...




Castle Salad with Mixed Greens, Apples, Cucumbers, and Candied Walnuts topped with shaved Romano Cheese with a hint of Herb Vinaigrette



While anniebean had...



A Royal Tasting of Cheese - a trio of cheese with accompaniments



For his entree, Geoff chose the...



Beef Tenderloin with Garlic Scalloped Potatoes, Asparagus and Tomato Butter



And for her entree, anniebean had the...



Gnocchi with Roasted Vegetables - Eggplant, Mushrooms, Onions, and Squash tossed with Gnocchi, Arugula, Pesto, shaved Romano, and splash of Aged Balsamic



Geoff had for dessert the...



Chocolate Creme Brulee



And for anniebean the...



Chef's Dessert Trio


anniebean said, "We saw the fireworks from the windows. It was wonderful."

More good news this morning, as we received a couple of great updates from a 5th reporter after I went to bed last night so I now have a dozen updates from yesterday to post for your viewing pleasure today.


I've already posted the first update of the day from anniebean last night so now we will move on to the next received, which was sent to us by emmebear. This update picks up at DHS after their lunch at 50's Prime Time, which was the subject of her last update.







"After some walking around, we sought refuge from the heat at...

ABC Commissary



Here they had...

"We had a nice break in air conditioning. I enjoyed the cold beer and Emme liked the French fries."



Next stop was...














"Emme fell asleep while we were in line but I still got my picture taken."





"These guys are so cute but I bet it sucks being in these awkward costumes!"




Then it was on to...





Where emmebear got a...




Rum Runner - Myer's Platinum Rum, Blackberry Brandy, Creme de Banana, and Tropical Juices topped with a float of Myer's Original Dark Rum





"I had my heart set on a pina colada but the machine was broken. That's so my luck these days. The rum runner wasn't too sweet though and cooled me down on this very hot day."



Next was a ride update...


"We got to ride TSM three times. It was awesooooome!"






And a few more character meet & greets...





"Emme was afraid to meet Ralph but then said she would be brave and met him. I was proud of her."





"This is awesome because she showed the how to do the "Spider-Man pose".

emmebear then sent us another update from their dinner on Sunday night at AoA's...


Landscapes of Flavor


She said, "I originally had Jiko planned but I cancelled and decided to just go to AoA and have dinner. The sun was brutal and we were exhausted. Plus, I get great Ethiopian at home and I didn't want to be disappointed in any of the food ( I was going to get the Dorowat inspired dish) so I'm glad I passed."


So here is what they had...









Kids Pasta

"The pasta was really good. It was the most Emme at the entire trip."


"I asked if I could substitute the turkey meatballs for broccoli as Emme doesn't eat meat. The girl made a huge fuss about how she couldn't do that but then another CM can and added the broccoli. They put the meatballs on the side."

"Looking a hot mess but enjoying dinner."




"I ordered the butter chicken. It's only available during dinner."














"I think they probably smother leftover tandoori chicken thighs in the sauce. Butter sauce is normally spicy but this was not but it was packed with flavor. I enjoyed it as it was better than eating a burger and fries."




"Sadly, I didn't get any paneer cheese with my spinach. The cauliflower was crunchy and was yummy dipped in the coriander sauce I got on the side."







"Overall, this was one of the favorite meals of the trip. Not only that, it was very cheap since they accept TIW. $13 for all this yummy food! I was happy Emme ate something of substance and my tummy was happy for the flavorful meal.

She said, "Had a wonderful waiter, Kip from Australia. Not a lot of pics, and still full-ish from big dinner night before."

She said, "We both had the Reuben--mine without meat."





The Reuben - Corned Beef, Sauerkraut, Swiss, and Thousand Island Dressing on Marble Rye Bread served with Pickle Spear and French Fries

"We also ordered the spinach & artichoke dip...




Spinach and Artichoke Dip - A blend of Monterey Jack, Swiss, and Parmesan, Spinach, and Artichokes served with Corn Tortilla Chips



...and Geoff had an Oreo milkshake."







"Everything was yummy, however the chips with the appetizer were quite stale and I FROZE to death while sitting in the car. Picking icicles off of me now."

Next in yesterday were three updates from David (bigdave10000) & Colleen, the first one a quick snack update from DHS.


David said, "Yesterday we walked over to HS. After we rode the Great Movie Ride we had a jalapeno pretzel and a Sam Adams Octoberfest at the stand outside the ride."

He said, "Before dinner, we went to Il Mulino for a drink."











"I had an Old Fashioned and Colleen had a Jack Daniels straight up."





"The cheese crackers are also very good."

"We sat at the bar so we could get the burger and crab nachos that are only on the bar menu."
























"Colleen started with the best Manhattan ever...





...and I had a Bloody Mary."





"I ordered 6 oysters to start. Two were from British Columbia (pictured at 2 o'clock), two from Connecticut (6 o'clock), and two from South Carolina."




"The BC ones had a bit of metallic taste. The Conn oysters were good but small. The winners were the SC oysters. They were the biggest and were salty and rich. It was like taking a bite of the ocean."



"A cute little Tabasco bottle comes with them."





"We then ordered the crab nachos."




"The bartender Monique talked us into only having the half order. It was huge and for only $8 was a great deal."



"Then we split the Wagyu burger...









...and the broccoli stuffed potato."




"Both were very good. Wonderful meal." ​

She said, "We are home now, but here is our last day."

"DS, DH and I got the Breakfast Platter with eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, french toast and a biscuit."





"DD got a croissant and a banana."







"For lunch we stopped at the Yorkshire Fish place in the UK at Epcot again."



"We got the fish and chips and a sugar cookie."





"After that, we made our way back to the car and sadly made our way home." ​

Some great updates

I particularly enjoyed the reviews of the lounges/bars at Ill Mulino and Blue Zoo

The menus (for both food and drinks!) look excellent - must try and squeeze in a drink and some apps next trip

Our final updates in last night were sent to us by Maiky.


He said, "Today we woke up early for EMH and took some pictures of the resort."




"We spent the day at Animal Kingdom and tasted two snacks new to us; the Jalapeño Cheese Pretzel from Harambe Fruit Market and the Frozen Chai Tea from Royal Anandapur Tea Company."

"Both the pretzel and the tea were great and had a very unique flavor."



"And later we enjoyed one of my favorite snacks, the funnel cake with powdered sugar."



Not sure where the funnel cake was from. Is there still a kiosk in Camp Minnie Mickey? If so, perhaps it was from there? Anyone know where you can get a funnel cake at Animal Kingdom???

"For dessert we chose our favorites; Fried Wontons and the Mango Pie.....always perfect!"

"We started with some drinks, a margarita and the Victoria Falls Mist. Both were delicious."














"For our appetizers we chose Inguday Tibs in Brik and the tomato salad."










"We both chose the Spicy Botswana-style "Seswaa" Beef Short Rib. This was delicious!! Great combination of flavors and a little spicy (which we like)."










"For desserts we ordered the Kenyan Coffee Creme Brulee and the Chocolate and Tea Safari."

Of course, the only guess I eliminated. I thought the Yak Attack was a frozen drink and this one didn't look frozen. But then again, I've never had a Yak Attack so I don't really know why I thought it was frozen.
