Hi Kara!

Happy to have a live reporter from Disneyland! Thanks for volunteering! :)

I will be in WDW with my family from 11/10-11/19 and would love to supply some live updates! :)

Welcome to the November team! :cheer2:

We will be going October 22-30!

Yep, already have your trip on the schedule! :thumbsup2

Now for another update from DonaldDoleWhip.

He said, "On Monday, I grabbed my breakfast in France."

Sweet menu

"The brioche au chocolat was excellent, with thick chocolate chips scattered throughout. It was basically dessert!"

"For lunch, I walked up to Morocco's table service restaurant."

"This was my first time dining here in 5 years."

Menu

"A look inside the restaurant."

Bread

"Butter - is this Morocco's finest?"

"My choice was the lemon chicken. This dish tasted good and was very moist, although I would've liked even more olives and lemon zest."

"Marrakesh was okay, but I think the menu and restaurant interior could use an update. It was already one of Epcot's least popular restaurants, and the new (waterside) restaurant in Morocco will probably draw in people for the view alone. With Spice Road Table and Tangierine Cafe nearby, perhaps Marrakesh can get a refreshing soon (much like other Epcot restaurants have received)."

"Speaking of Spice Road Table, there it is."

"After Epcot, I walked over to DHS."

"Brown Derby is currently offering lunch specials."

Regular menu

"Starring Rolls is still offering summer cupcakes."

"It was time for one more ride on Tower of Terror."

"Then I left the park (without using my other FP+) to avoid the oncoming rain."

Here's one more update from DDW which was received yesterday...

He said, "After a nap in the room, I headed back to one of my favorite spots in Epcot."

Flavors

"I still hadn't tried their ice cream or sorbet in a martini glass, so I decided to check that off my list."

"The alcohol options are Grand Marnier, rum, and whipped cream-flavored vodka."

"I chose coconut white chocolate ice cream with pineapple sorbet and rum. It was an impromptu piña colada!"

"First impression - it's absolutely gorgeous. Second impression - wow, it's strong! They definitely poured a lot of alcohol in there. Third impression - combining all three flavors (mainly the pineapple and creamy coconut) is heaven."

"I don't know if I'll have this again, but I loved trying it once!"

DonaldDoleWhip is officially a genius I am soooo stealing this idea in Dec! Oh and also thank you for putting my mind at ease with the photos of kusafari bakery, the white chocolate elephant is still there YAY! I'm learning so much from mr.DDW this week!

Hi,

I've been reading this thread since it started and it's been filling a big Disney shaped hole as living in Britain we don't get there too often. My husband and I are heading to SSR Oct 8th to 19th on DDDP and I'd love to contribute to this thread, we eat at a lot of signatures and I'm a big cocktail fan, my hubs is a big sweet fan, just let me know what you need us to do and we'll get involved.

Thanks, Laura

Next in yesterday morning was Becky's (BlovesC) final update from her (way too) quick trip. :sad1:

Before leaving the Wilderness Lodge, she and Charlie had breakfast at...

First a menu pic...

"Charlie is not a morning person!"

"Our drinks!"

"We were in the left side of the restaurant, which was being served by two women who were tag teaming. They were both on crack! The other half of WCC was stone silent and our half was noisy and crazy. I don't know how it's possible to have as much energy as our server did!"

"Apparently my wet hair in a ponytail looked like it needed to be improved so Sidetracked Sue used drinking straws to turn me into a princess for much cheaper than BBB." :p

Now for their food...

"I ordered the Banana Bread French Toast..."

"I was worried this would be too cloyingly sweet but on its own it wasn't! :thumbsup2 The banana foster sauce definitely was! Charlie thinks my taste buds are broken because he thought the toast was SO sweet and he also thought my French ice cream yesterday was TOO coffee flavored. Weiiiird." :confused3

"I got a side of eggs instead of bacon or sausage..."

"Charlie ordered the Western Omelet with toast..."

"Two thumbs up!" :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

"He did wish he had ketchup for his hashbrowns though but refused to ask!" ;)

"Near the end of our meal, Sue asked if I wanted refills...since we were about done I asked for just a little more water. And that's what I got exactly." :p

"And a little more milk from a tiny cow!" :lmao:

"Our sides hurt from laughing so hard when we left. The food was better than at lunch and our server was just such a trip! Our side of the dining room was having way too much fun for early morning. We wound up doubling the TIW tip!"

"That was our last meal! Boooo! :( Even though we're used to the weekend stays, this felt like our shortest one yet! Probably because we slept so much...those WL beds are so so so so much better than BC or AKL beds!!"

5 August Game Points Earned + 5 Bonus Points for sign, menu, and funny pics of Charlie & Becky

And since that was Becky's final update, it's now time to say...

Thanks so much for being a Live Reporter...Great Job!!! :thanks:

BlovesC's (Two Day) Total Aug./Sept. Game Points Earned = 71

Donald Dole Whip, nice to see Brown Derby showing lunch specials - we gave up on this place once they went to the all day menu. Hope the specials stick around. With Tune-In-Lounge bar seats mobbed by kids these days, it would be nice to have a place to sit down and have an adult drink and something reasonably priced (by Disney standards) for lunch at DHS.

Hi Laura!

Thanks for volunteering, I'd be happy to have you! :thumbsup2 I'll be sending out a PM to all our October volunteers about one month from now. This should give you all the info you need for sending me your updates. Thanks again! :)

If you need another reporter, I'll gladly offer to share my experience. I'm staying at the Poly from October 27th-November 1st

Next in yesterday was Jeanette's (JintyB) update from her dinner on Saturday at...

"Sadly it was a disappointing visit." :(

"It was raining lightly when we arrived and we were told to wait on the bridge after checking in. The gatekeeper refused to let us through until our buzzers went off, so seven of us sheltered under two flimsy umbrellas while she glared at us from under her huge Disney one. Eventually she did let us into the entrance hall before it went off, but we were all rather damp at this point." :(

"The person who showed us to our seat was the best cast member of the night. Beauty and the Beast is one of my favourite films and as he briefly showed us each room we had a good chat about some of the details. The restaurant itself is breathtaking and truly feels like stepping into the film."

"We were seated in the West Wing, which thrilled my DD and I, but turned out to be problematic with our friend's son who isn't keen on thunder!"

"Rose napkin." :)

"Bread and butter."

"French onion soup - really cheesy, which equals good in my book." ;)

And for their entrees...

Thyme-scented Pork Rack Chop with Au Gratin Macaroni, Seasonal Vegetables, and Red Wine Jus

Sautéed Shrimp and Scallops with Seasonal Vegetables served in Puff Pastry with a Creamy Lobster Sauce

Pan-seared Salmon with Pommes Frites

Layered Ratatouille - Oven-baked Zucchini, Eggplant, Mushrooms, Tomatoes, and Caramelized Onions sliced and layered on Quinoa served with a Bell Pepper Sauce

And then desserts...

Chocolate Cream Puff filled with Chocolate Mousse topped with Whipped Cream.

Triple Chocolate Cupcake - Chocolate Sponge Cake, Chocolate Mousse Filling, and Chocolate Ganache.

Lemon Meringue Cupcake - Vanilla Sponge Cake, Lemon Custard Filling, and Flamed Meringue Icing.

Strawberry-Cream Cheese Cupcake - Vanilla Sponge Cake, Strawberry Mousse Filling, and Cream Cheese Icing.

"The food was OK, but we hoped to be wowed. The service was terrible - we didn't see our server during most of the meal, received no drink refills (even when requested), he didn't check how the meals were and when we did see him, he moaned about the card system. He also brought the bill before we could order coffees etc."

"Further issues were caused by other diners. I fully understand that everyone wants to view the rooms, but we were interrupted continually by other guests coming into our dining area to photograph and video. At one point a woman with a video camera with a blinding light walked the entire room (VERY slowly) seemingly oblivious to the increasing annoyance of everyone in the room."

"At the end of the meal we were given the opportunity to meet the beast. It will be a miracle if the photo pass photo is any good as I wasn't ready for either shot!!" :sad2:

"Whilst the physical beauty of this place couldn't disappoint, the food and service did. It was a rushed meal, made stressful by the continuous flash photography of other guests and our absent server. Disney really needs to find a way to balance guest's desires to take photos with those who would like to enjoy a normal meal."

"Sorry to be so down on it. I'm glad to have seen it." :)
