Coming from the Great White North in August WE'RE BACK.2nd DAY PTs1&2POSTED PAGE 23

Haha yeah I sometimes accidentally post as my mom :lmao:

January is a good time to go it should be nice having minor crowds

I plan on doing a ptr but I want to wait until march since that's when we can plan our ADRS

I don't want to start too far ahead because I usually run out of things to talk about :rotfl:

That was too funny, it doesn't take much to confuse me. ;) I am looking forward to going in January especially after the August heat and humidity, should be fun!!

Can't wait for your PTR...I cheated a bit this year...even before I booked our hotel and everything I went on and booked our ADR's, I would hate the thought of paying for the DDP and not getting the TS restaurants we love. We are actually trying a few new ones this time....

Us girls could never run out of things to talk about:rotfl2::lmao:

This brings us to Peg and families last day with us before they headed home. We tried to not focus on that aspect of it and just enjoy our last day all together. We had decided on DHS for their last morning at a park as the girls love the rides here and they wanted to see the characters from UP...so DHS here we come

611-1.jpg

Waiting for Peg to pick up MM's carriage for the day.
612-1.jpg

As soon as we had MM loaded into her carriage it was off to ToT and RnRC.
613-1.jpg

After that, Peg and family decided now was as good a time as any to see the UP characters so they went to do that and Jasmine and I headed over to the Streets Of NY...here is Jasmine with the Subway sign. The city we live in doesn't have a subway so she thought this was pretty cool. This is another $20 dress she purchases at Trend-D at DTD. With the August heat, she found them far cooler than wearing shorts and a t-shirt.

We headed over to Muppetvision 3D, but Jasmine decided she would like to sit for a tattoo instead since she hadn't gotten one this trip. I kept thinking thank goodness it's just a temp one she wants and not the real thing, although my girlfriends with older children tell me it's just a matter of time.

618-1.jpg

The fountain outside Muppetvision 3D...never did get to see the show this trip
619-1.jpg

We had decided to meet up at Star Tours as everyone but me loves this ride. It was perfect timing we came around the corner at the same time. The line up was quite long so I knew I was in for a bit of a wait so I found myself a nice bench in the sunshine and decided I would work on my tan...that lasted 10 minutes. Working on your tan when you can jump in the pool is one thing, this was not working so well. Just as I was getting up to go find a shady spot, Jasmine came and sat with me. She decided she wasn't up to standing in the long line so we found a covered table and say these guys on our way.
620-1.jpg

Just as we sat down, these lovely gentlemen walked by...I love them
621-1.jpg

Before long everyone was down their ride and we decided we would head to Min and Bill's Dockside Diner for a milkshake. MMMMM soooo yummy. Peg and SW went off to get a treat to eat I think and Geodoc and Jas went to get the milkshakes and I stayed at the tables with MM. Poor little thing had a mini meltdown so like the good auntie I am I tried to capture the moment on film. She turned so I couldn't get her face...let's just say she was none too happy with me at that moment, but got much better when she had her milkshake.
622.jpg

Since MM was no longer speaking to me, I decided to take a shot from where we were sitting.
624-1.jpg

With our bellies full of delectable milkshakes we decided to head back to AKL for a swim and a rest. We had ADR's this evening at O'Hana's and wanted to make sure we were up to going to MK after considering the last night with all of our family together. Here is Jasmine outside our room in Dress #3...that's the last one...exactly how many dresses can you buy on one trip??

626-1.jpg

We took the bus to the MK then the monorail to the Poly. Poor MM never did get a nap that afternoon so she was out like a light as soon as the monorail started moving. I was a little concerned she might have a moment when she woke up, but she did great!!!

627-1.jpg

MM and Jas waiting to be called for dinner
629-1.jpg

I asked MM to go stand by this and Geodoc said to Jas go stand with your cousin so your mother can take a picture...turns out he only wanted her seat as they were few and far between....don't you love the look on her face when she realized this.
630-1.jpg

Mmmmmm pina colada, I could have had 10 of these and no dinner, but I was good and stuck to one only.
631-1.jpg

Welcome Bread they serve at the beginning of the meal, it's kinda sweet, but I stuck to only one piece. I do love my bread, but I always fill up on it and then can never eat my meal.

CONT'D IN NEXT POST

632-1.jpg

MM and Jasmine all seated and ready to eat.
633-1.jpg

View outside of the Poly from our table, last year when we ate here it was the day TS Fay hit, let's just say we couldn't get any pics of outside cause it was raining so hard, so this was great for the girls to be able to see across the lake to the MK
634.jpg

View of the inside of the restaurant
635.jpg

As I was downloading the pictures, I laughed when I realized I only took pictures of the salad and the dessert....forgot the actualy meal photos so I apologize...but here's the salad
636.jpg

Dessert....so yummy, I think this rivals the bread pudding at Raglan Road
637.jpg

They called all the children up to learn how to do the hula so I asked SW and MM if they wanted to go and SW said No we don't want to go...she gets shy infront of people to do things...well no sooner had she said it MM said well I want to do it...so she looked up at Jas with her big beautiful eyes and of course Jas melts and off they went to do the hula
638.jpg

I was howling....Jasmine was actually having a ball with her cousin
639.jpg

640.jpg

641.jpg

Not really sure what Jasmine did to make MM laugh so hard, but they sure were having fun
642.jpg

643.jpg

644.jpg

I couldn't resist texting Jasmine's boyfriend at home and telling him his girlfriend was up with a bunch of little kids learning the hula...he text back....please take lots of pictures, I'm so happy she's having so much fun...he seriously is an absolute doll. Jasmine with her lay
645.jpg

Took this one on our way out
646.jpg

We had every intention of going to MK for Wishes, but everyone was exhausted, especially SW and MM....MM was fast asleep on Jasmine's knee on the bus and I took this shot of SW fast asleep on some ladies shoulder on the bus...poor thing passed right out.

We had a wonderful last day all together...I was looking forward to our last nine days alone with my wonderful daughter, but I knew I was going to miss everyone....both Peg and I said it was the best holiday we'd ever had...we had a perfect blend of parks, pool, rest, not running around like chickens with well you know....it was wonderful. I was sad they were leaving and I was hoping I wouldn't cry in the morning.....

What ADRS did you get?!
Are you doing a PTR?

True haha maybe I will move up the PTR date and start it once my mom is done with her's and my dad's solo trip report I will need to something to help me through Christmas we went last year and I will miss it :rotfl:

Love the update Jasmine's dresses are so cute! I loved Tren D I could definitely spend a lot of money in there!

Love Jasmine's dresses. WCC and Ohana look fabulous. It's sad to say goodbye to family at Disney. I always get a chance to hang out with my brother when we go and I hate to tell him goodbye. I need to be like him and just move down there. :cool1:

I love the dresses too!

Hope the photo session pics turned out nicely. I see they have changed some of the regulations with the photopass CD and photo session prices.

Poor SW must have been mortified to realize she slept on a strangers shoulder.

We arrive on Jan 10 but don't land in Orlando until 745pm so figure we'll just grab something at the hotel. I have booked The Plaza, Le Cellier, Kouzzina, Kona Cafe, Wolfgang Puck (are you surprised lol) and California Grill...I think I may try and get a lunchtime TS on the 17th as we don't depart until 8pm that day. I didn't get hopper tickets this time so I tried to book some resort restaurants so we can go to whichever park strikes our fancy that day. I just realized I don't have Tutto Italia....Jasmine would die if we didn't go to her fav...maybe for lunch on our last day.

I think I may just do a PTR at the very last minute if at all. I am now finding crunch time is hitting with Christmas around the corner. I did get quite a bit of shopping done in Fargo ND this past weekend though.

Jasmine shares your love of Trend D....you girls would have a hey day together.

For $20 how could I say no. I want to move there too, I got all excited last weekend when the lottery was $50million and the ticket was sold in our province, unfortunately it wasn't us...or clearly we would be there already lol

I love the dresses too!

They turned out so well, I was really impressed. When I figure out how much money I spend on Sears pictures for Christmas cards I was further ahead with the session.

SW was a tad embarrassed but we didn't make a big deal out of it....I know Hypermommy will be shocked that we didn't torment the poor child.

Friday August 21, 2009

This post brings us to the morning Peg and family departed for home. Peg got a little choked up when we were saying good bye but I did ok,,,maybe cause I was saying for another 9 days? We both, once again, declared it the best holiday we had ever had. I have a girlfriend whose hubby works for Disney so she was kind enough to come and pick us up from AKL and drive us to ASMu to check in. We all had one last hug and kiss and we were off. I kept in contact with Peg that day through text so I knew they were on time etc and not sitting in Orlando or Toronto waiting for connections.

647.jpg

Jasmine decided to grab the camera and get a couple of last minute shots from the balcony, we already had these shots, but hey, she lived on that balcony when we were in our room. I knew this was what she was going to miss the most of staying in deluxe and moving to value. I was sad in a way to be leaving AKL, but on the other hand, it felt like we were going home to ASMu...this has been our resort of choice most of our visits so we knew it like the back of our hand.
648.jpg

649.jpg

650.jpg

651.jpg

Denice picked us up right on time, we loaded up the Suburban and we were off to our new home for 9 days. Here is the McDonald's on the way...it's changed since our last visit.
652.jpg

653.jpg

Through the security gates and we were here. Entranceway to ASMu. Denice dropped me off at the front doors so I could just run in, check in while they stayed in the car so then we would just drive to whichever building we were in. The gentleman that helped was as nice as pie, but I think maybe new to his role. At first he said your room isn't ready yet, but there is one in Country Fair that is, which you like that one. I knew this was the farthest building from the front, but I said sure because I really wanted to get in and settled so we could have our whole day in front of us. This took forever only for him to say....oh sorry, there actually isn't a room available. By this point, Jasmine sends me a text and asks me what's taking so long. He tells me we will be in the Jazz Building #9...great love it, closer to the front and in between both pools. They take my cell number to text me with our room number when it's ready. I go back out to the car, unload all of our luggage, store it with guest services and Jasmine and I head to the piano pool. We no sooner get our towels on our chairs...I get the text saying our room is ready!! We didn't have our luggage but at least I could go and lock up our passports and everything so we didn't have so much stuff at the pool. Our luggage actually made it up within the hour so we were all settled and ready for DTD by 1pm.
654.jpg

Jasmine enjoying the pool right before I received the text about the room
656.jpg

Room 9544 in Jazz Building....I loved the location of the room..it was right when the hotel goes into a T and we were steps from the stairs and elevators.

661.jpg

662.jpg

Jasmine and I decided before long that we had enough pool time and we should head to DTD. We were going to try and get into T-Rex for a late lunch/early dinner. I was shocked that we actually got in. I had heard and read so many reports but I think we hit it at the right time...it was approximately 245pm
663.jpg

664.jpg

665.jpg

We wandered around for a little while and decided we would just head back and have an early evening. All this packing and unpacking from resort to resort was tiring.

Next post....MK

We woke once again to a beautiful morning, not a cloud in the sky. The weird part this particular morning was we actually had to go to the main building for breakfast...no more kitchen in the room. We decided we would split the waffle and bacon, I had coffee and Jasmine had lemonade. Once we were through, we headed out to the bus, which just happened to be waiting. Perfect timing. I love when your day begins like this and you just have a feeling everything will fall into place.

668.jpg

Arriving at MK...something about this park....I love being there and never get sick of it.
669.jpg

The train arrives and the magic begins...not gonna lie to you...I sing that song at the top of my lungs!! Here's a close up of Snow White
670.jpg

The family who was lucky enough to be chosen to open the park...what an experience that must be!!
671.jpg

We decided we would head to the left, ride Pirates, SM, and BTMRR and from there we would figure out what was next.
672.jpg

On our way to SM...I love how you know exactly when you pass between lands at this park
673.jpg

One of our very favorite rides...it's at this point that we realize how much we miss the girls...and also that this was the day my friend and her daughter were to have arrived to spend our last week with us, but it wasn't meant to be
674.jpg

Love this sign
675.jpg

After BTMRR, we decided we would head to Fantasyland and ride PPF....this is the line up...before this we couldn't get near it everytime we tried. The crowds were minimal this particular day.

From PPF we wandered through Fantasyland...had to take a back shot of the castle
683.jpg

I asked Jasmine if she wanted to ride Dumbo, but she was ok with just a picture
684.jpg

We did however decide to ride Pooh...
685.jpg

I think we had that exact same table at Ohana for our breakfast.

Love those last pics from AKL.

My goodness you've been busy posting!!

The face painting designs were very cool, I may have to do it along with the girls next time :)

Jasmine's dresses are very pretty...seriously only $20 each?! How did she resist buying more?

So sad that Peg and her family had to leave. It is wonderful that you all had such a fun time together and the girls seem to adore their older cousin!

I was trying to get as much done while I am home on holidays, but I do go back to work on Monday. Whatever's not done by then will take a little longer.

Face painting is always fun....it was a little more difficult though with the high temps and humidity as opposed to when we used to go in Nov....it would stay on all day no trouble at all.

She bought all the designs except one and it was really similar to the leopard one she did buy so she thought she could fore go it.

Yes, they sure do love their cousin, however, like all other siblings/cousins, they do have their moments!!!

Sounds like some good adrs I really want to try out Kouzzina the next time we go I just love the Boardwalk
Yay for Wolfgang Puck :thumbsup2

Where are you staying?

I really enjoy resort hopping and it's nice to just take it easy at Disney

Tutto Italia yum I really enjoyed that last time I think this time we are hitting up Tonys for our italian fix

If you don't do a PTR be sure to keep updating on your trip on here please I love living vicariously through other disers excitment for their trips :)

Yeah I keep looking at the pics of Jasmine and thinking hmm I hope they have that when I go there next year haha. My mom read my post about me spending money there and said as I remember it you did spend a ton of money there :rotfl:

When I was little I used to get a princess dress when I went I guess I never grew out of wanting disney dresses:lmao:

That must be the Canadian table. :lmao:

:lmao::rotfl2: I'll request "the Canadian table" and see what I get:thumbsup2

I'm so happy to hear that about The Boardwalk..only ever pulled up in the boat on the way to or from Epcot...never got out....I'm excited.

I just booked yesterday...Port Orleans Riverside...it's a first for us, we have never stayed there before.

I think Jasmine is torn between the food and the eye candy at Tutto:lmao:

It isn't hard to spend $$ at Disney...I manage to leave a wad everytime, even when I think "Really, what more do I need"

Our first trip was when Jasmine was 6...we went to CRT for breakfast with the princesses and I still feel bad that I never thought to get her a princess dress....she's making up for it now:confused3

Boardwalk is beautiful it would definitely be my first choice if I got the chance to stay at a delux

Port Orleans Riverside is really nice my family and I have stayed there 2 times and loved it

It's hard not to spend money at disney especially since there aren't many disney stores nowadays :(

October 30 was Jasmine's 17th birthday so along with a couple of her girlfriends we had a surprise party for her. I left work at 3pm, picked up her 3 friends and headed to our place. The girls were adamant they had to decorate so we stopped off at the Dollar Store first then headed home to decorate. Thomas was in on the surprise too, but unfortunately he had to work 4 - 7 that day so I arranged with Peg and my parents for them all to go out for dinner and I would meet them after work. I sent Jas a text around 6pm and said the fire alarms were going off in the branch and that I couldn't leave. She said "oh that sucks" I said well on the bright side the firefighters are really hot. She was not happy with me....she thought how can you say that when you're missing my birthday dinner. The whole time I was sitting on the couch at home letting all her friends in.

Thomas had decided on Thursday while Jas was at cheer practice that he wanted to give her her gifts that night, not the next night when everyone was here. I thought that was a nice idea so off he went to the florist to pick up roses and returned to wrap her jacket he had bought her through mail order from Abercrombie and Fitch as we don't have a store in our city. Poor kid paid a fortune to have it shipped but he said she was more than worth it. Sweetest kid ever I'm telling you.

Her friend Michelle bought her this cake and got super excited putting the candles on before she realized she put the 7 backwards....we laughed so hard

She had a wonderful time and I just wanted to share a little of what's going on in our lives right now. Hope you enjoyed.

I actually priced out Boardwalk with the buy 4 get 3 but it was still more than I wanted to spend so I decided on Riverside. Glad to hear you loved it. I am looking forward to staying at another new resort.

I would agree, we still have one in our city, but it's about 40 minutes from where we live so we rarely go to that mall, but every now and then we venture for our fix.

You will have a good time and if you find time walk over to French Quarter to check out that area we stayed there and enjoyed it as well :)

Oh and take full advantage of the boat rides to dtd there really isn't anything better than disney boat rides :lmao:

Lucky! We used to have 2 relatively close to us but they both got shut down :sad1:

Happy belated to Jasmine!
Her party looks like a lot of fun!
