How often does Disney wash their comforter/blankets? Can I request a clean set upon arrival? Am I being too pickey?

:welcome: to the boards-- good question---I don't think I want to know the answer;) We never lay down on top of the bedspread or even put clothes on top (we live out of the suitcase), of couse I wipe down the phones & remotes too...............

Wouldn't they be washed every time a guest checked out? I'm not sure and now I'm scared but I would hope that all hotels would wash the blankets every time they washed the sheets

I'm not sure about blankets, but bedspreads aren't.........

My cousin works for Marriott and she told me awhile ago that they do not wash the comforters every time. She said maybe once a week. I pull them off as soon as we get into a hotel I dont care if its even a nice one. She even told me to never use the glasses in the bathroom always request plastic cups.

I was told that the blanket gets washed monthly and the comforters changed out every 3 months. I have requested new linen when we have checked in and they have changed the bedding while I was there. I don't think it is picky at all.

I actually think it is gross not to change everything out after each guest leaves.

I have worked in housekeeping at a five star hotel, though not at Disney, and the bedspreads and blankets were washed - at best - once a month. They take a really long time to dry, and if the hotel is busy, like most Disney ones are, you don't have enough spares to do them any more often than that.:scared:

Reallly though. An unwashed bedspread is not half as germ ridden as the door-handles and money that you touch every day.

I believe that, but there are some things that are on bed covers that would not normally get on door handles or money...at least not where I am from they do not! :scared1:

I think I should not have read this thread! Of course, the first thing I do is take the comforters off the bed and try to keep the room warm enough that I don't even need a blanket. I have a relative who worked a hotel and she gave me that advice a few years ago. Blankets and comforters are definitely not washed after each guest checks out.

We bring our own blankets (me and the kids, DH thinks we are nuts) and pillow cases. I am a total germaphob when it comes to hotels. I request they change the linens and then I put our own pillowcases over the new clean ones housekeeping puts on and we ALWAYs bring our own blankets. I bring lysol wipes and spray to clean the door handles, remote, phone, toilet seat, handle, faucet handles, etc...you get the picture.

DH thinks I am NUTS, and with us flying to Disney, he had concerns of packing our blankets, he actually said this to me the other day, You know, you cannot bring your blanket to Disney, right. And I was like, Heck yeah, I am bringing it and I am bringing the boys blankets too. Of course he is concerned with having too much luggage. I told him I will make it work.
