I was wondering if anyone knows of any comfortable wedge shoes. I normally wear my Reefs or Teva flip flops in WDW. We are going to Paris in Sept so I wanted some sort of shoes that would go better with dresses. If I could find I good pair I may even wear them in WDW on our trips from time to time.

I can't suggest any specific shoes per say, but I know there are a number of higher level brands out there which are comfortable and are somewhat more stylish that flip flops. Many have a bit of a theraputic look, so you might have to compromise a little. Also, expect to pay a little more. That's the reason I haven't tried too many)

Nordstrom is one plce to look.

I like Ecco brand. I tend to go with the 3-strap sandals, but they have wedges. Supposedly that is the brand Samantha Brown (several travel channel shows, including episodes on WDW) likes. They have more stylish shoes/sandals than the three strap ones, but I find really like that they are adjustable.

There are also quite a few really great German brands. I can't name any off the top of my head, but they exist. A small store local to me carries lots of very comfy shoes, they are all just a bit $$$. Some names are aetrx, rieker, naot, hartjes...Try "the walking Company" maybe for a list of more brands.(Maybe follow up witha Zappos.com for lower prices?)

One option you might seriously want to consider- go shopping in Paris! Paris has some AMAZING department stores! I can't begin to describe the kind of excellent shopping experiences I've had there. Even the in-house dining options are quite good. Some of the stores are very expensive obviously, but not all of them.

I have a black American Eagle pair that I got from Payless that I LOVE. They are very comfortable for walking and for being on your feet all day. I am a substitute teacher, and these are my favorite shoes to wear to work.

I haven't tried the other mentioned, but do have several pairs of Naots that are really comfortable. These are the ones I have:

http://www.zappos.com/naot-footwear-kate-white-patent-leather?zfcTest=fw:1
http://www.zappos.com/naot-footwear-ashley-cherry-patent-leather?zfcTest=fw:1

Of the three, I prefer the Kates for comfort, but the Marissa for looks.

Naots are some of the most comfortable shoes out there. Sometimes you can find them at a good price on 6pm.com

Oooh I'm so jealous, I was in Paris last May and would love to go back especially in the Fall.

anyway, I took 2 brands with me that were absolutely great for walking.

Clarks.

and Born. (the "O" is a funny scandanivian O)

I got a pair of these that were heels and they still felt great.

Have a great time in Paris.

I second going to The Walking Company to try on shoes. They have a lot of higher end, comfortable shoes. And even if they look a little klunky, remember that a lot of them are European brands, so they'll fit right in. Well, except Dansko clogs. When we lived in the Netherlands only the Americans wore Dansko.

Personally, I love wearing wedges to Disney, and I can get away with almost any pair, but one thing to remember is to get ones that strap on securely so your foot doesn't slip and turn your ankle :)

Great suggestion! and an important point to consider when traveling to Europe.

If you plan to wear them for specific events, you'll be fine. But if you plan to wear them all day for sight seeing, then keep in mind Europe has lots of cobblestone streets and uneven pavement.

It's been quite a few years since I was there, but I sort of recall cobblestone even near Paris, like maybe in Versailles. (We traveled around a bit, but I rmember finding lots of uneven surfaces.)

www.crocs.com!!!! They have very stylish looking shoes, and the inside is croc material. Noone can tell and they are SUPER comfy!!!

Born is a comfortable brand, and maybe because I am used to wearing heels, but I generally find that nine west has some really fun and comfortable wedges.

I bought some J-41 wedges from Zappos.com and have absolutely loved them. Wore them all over New York City and never had sore or tired feet. :cheer2:

:thumbsup2 Crocs FTW.

I'm not much for their clog-type shoes, but I have several pairs of their dress shoes and wedges and they are very comfortable. Bonus - easy to clean too!

~Great thread! You received a lot of fabulous feedback from the previous posters, I loved all the choices above. :goodvibes

~I am never without a super fabulous pair of wedges, they are my quintessential "official" airport travel shoe. I've worn my wedges on "travel' days to the parks and I managed perfectly fine for 2-3 hours. I did feel a little awkward because I'm 5'7 without shoes and for some reason I felt uber tall in them, but I got lots of compliments and "where did you get those shoes?" I personally can't recommend them for "all day" in the parks, but for casual park touring for a few hours and a few rides they were no problem.

~And of course, your wedges transition seemlessly from day to night, as you can dress them down with jeans, shorts, a sleek pair of leggings, or dress them up elegantly in a fabulous dress!

~OMG! The colors this season are just delicious, like a bowl of fruit loops or something, but of course the natural cork styles will always remain universally stylish. Here are just a few of my favorite shoe havens, lol. --->~Neiman's~ ~Bluefly~, ~DSW~, ~Victoria's~ ~Saks~

~Good luck in finding the perfect most fabulous pair(s) of wedges for your trip to Paris!

Right now I am looking at Born shoes online and I am in love with so many of them! I just can't find a lot of reviews.
I also found a pair of Mia's on Zappos site I don't mind.
