Has anyone stayed at this resort? Not to be confused with the Comfort Suites Maingate East Resort as that one is all sold out for our dates. These are two separate hotels. I have done a search but can only find information on CS Maingate East and not on this one.

We are looking for something for 12/29 & 12/30 that is not too high before we check into ASM on 12/31. We are trying to save some money by staying offsite for a couple of nights but a lot are already sold out or they're more than we want to spend. Then I found this hotel on HotelKingdom.com for $61.90/night and was wondering if anyone could tell me if they were happy with this resort, how the transportation was, pool, room cleanliness, etc. I read that it was built in 1999 and didn't think that it could be run down yet since it is still fairly new, but you never know for sure.

TIA

We haven't stayed there so I can't tell you about condition, but I will tell you WHY we haven't stayed there. In my opinion, a "suite" isn't really a suite if the bedroom isn't seperated from the living room area by a door. I'm 99.9% sure that this is the case at that Comfort Suites. The reason we go to a suite hotel is so that my daughter can go to sleep in the bedroom, we can shut the door and stay in the living room with the lights and TV on. At places like SpringHill Suites and Comfort Suites, there is just an arch or half-wall seperating the sleeping area from the living area, so we couldn't do that without disturbing her.

If, on the other hand, you don't care about that, than the Comfort Suites is a good choice. It is relatively new and I think it would be a safe bet unless anyone else here knows otherwise.

Thanks, DisneySteve
I'm not concerned about it being 2 different rooms. I've stayed at other Comfort Suites and know that it is really not a true suite. My 2 DDs are 13 & 15, so we do not need a room for the kids to go to bed early. On the other hand, they always stay awake after we go to bed, so maybe a separate room might not be so bad for Mom & Dad! LOL!!

I just want to make sure that this is a decent, clean hotel.

I think this is the one we've stayed at - if it's the one right near Splendid China.

It was fine, except for two noteable points:

I seem to remember certain moveable objects (like the TV remote) being screwed right down to the furniture. No biggie, but just a little inconvenient and made us feel slightly criminal.

The beds had plastic mattress covers on them. At first we couldn't pin-point what exactly it was that was different about the beds, but, finally, we were saying "what's that crunching element about the mattress???". It was just a sheet straight on top of the plastic cover - no pad, nothing. Annoying, until we simply stripped the beds.

BTW, ITA with disneysteve on the point of what constitutes a "suite" and this is just one of those rooms with an arch and half wall.

Yes, that's the one. I looked on their web site and it is next to Splendid China.

I don't think I'd like plastic on my bed either. And the fact that the remote is screwed down to the furniture almost defeats the purpose of having a remote if you're not sitting right next to it. But like you said these are no biggies and we are only staying there 2 nights. So I guess I can put up with it as we won't be in the room that much anyways.

Thanks for the info.
