Come to the Dark Side...We Have Cookies...(updates 4/3)

JJ did not get a call back, but the young girl who helped us out when we went to the Orlando Science Center did! Hopefully she will do great tonight and get a part!

Poor JJ! But that's great that the person who's been a help to you did! I'm sure he did great but unfortunately things don't always work out. I'm sure other things are coming his way.

I'm sure that JJ is a bit disappointed that he didn't get a call back. Hopefully, at least one of his friends will get chosen and he'll enjoy watching them perform.

This morning wasn't a good one for JJ. He had a lot of myoclonic twitching. While it was happening he was aware and felt so tired. He was able to fall back to sleep, but it was amplified every time he went into REM. I'm keeping an eye on him today. School is out of the question because he isn't able to focus. He even had trouble focusing on his lunch. When he can't eat due to lack of focus we know something's happening. Food is important business to him, usually.

On Tuesday, he was in the news! A local news station featured his theatre troupe. There was a great close up shot of him dancing for his skit. He plays Rapunzel's prince. While this prince is not named in this play, he lets everyone know he is Flynn Ryder. The show is next week.

Tomorrow is Buddy Baseball. Hoping for overcast skies so it doesn't heat up too quickly. He has a birthday party to go to after.

There still is a possibility he will be in the general ensemble, though it is slim. He is handling this pretty well. I think it's because SWW is around the same time. He says he's going to try out for more plays.

It's definitely given us all an appreciation for his special needs theatre troupe. Everyone gets a part. No one is left behind.

He doesn't seem too disappointed. His friends have all told him about all the auditions they went out for and for some this was their first call back. These kids are all in their teens. He's only 9, and just turned 9. They have more experience and several are in performing art schools. Heck just 9 months ago he took his first step on the stage. He has come so far since then.

At first, he didn't take notice to the steps or edge of the stage. We were constantly reminding him he was at the edge. He had trouble pretending he was doing things he wasn't doing. Now they can tell him any scenario and he can pretend.

Ok, I'm on the same page as you. Tickets are optional. Someone is coming to look at his mustang on Monday. He's thinking of selling. He just doesn't have extra time to devote to it.

Which days are you staying? Can your son go too?

If I remember correctly, your DH has a model Jonas wants. Can't afford another right now, nor do we have anyplace to store it. And my DH doesn't devote much time to his either, too many other hobbies. :rolleyes2

Right now I am booked for Thursday, Aug 29 - Sunday. Still waiting on my BFF to see if she can make it, but my MIL also thought about going. If the BFF can't make it, I will probably take my son. Did I tell you DH is deploying to Afghanistan in August.

Oops, sorry for the double post, I missed that last post of yours. Hope JJ is doing better now and can enjoy his day tomorrow. pixiedust: for cooler temps!

Woohoo!!! JJ got a part in the play! He's part of the general ensemble, a dog. He's so happy and excited. So far, all his friends got parts too. We're just waiting to hear if his friend that helps him did.

He has a 1965 red one with 2 white pin stripes down the middle. I don't know specifics beyond that.

I just thought of it, you are at POR, we are at CSR.

No! You didn't tell me. How long will he be over there? Will be sure to keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

He has been tire today and it's been hard for him to focus. He couldn't focus on eating lunch today and food is usually pretty serious business for him. Tonight is going much better. He's feeling more like himself!

Thank you! He is so excited. Can't believe we are in day 2 of his Fabulously Funny Fairtytales play, and Monday starts Aristocats practice!

My tooth is doing great. I have no pain. No sensitivity to hot or cold. :cool1: I think what all he did, was just what it needed. I believe prayer helped too!

:thumbsup2 That's great for her!!!

Glad he seems to be on the mend.

They officially announced the cast this week. There are several of his homeschool players and several of his special needs troupe in it. He will go in there knowing many people. Plus he knows the director and stage manager very well. He should be right in his element.

Hi! Welcome back! I hope your husband's recovery is coming along nicely.

Things are going very well, thanks!

Haven't talked about Grumpy in a while. I have great news to report. While it's all a little confusing to me, he applied for an internship with Disney's Culinary Program. On the computer, it said the job listing was posted in January for employment before Sept 2013. He got an email thanking him for applying and it said they are not filling those positions until AFTER Sept 2013. So I take it the posititions they are advertising for online were filled already and this is for the next go of it? Anyway, he got an email yesterday to set up a Skype interview with them!!! It's all set up. He is sooooo excited. I mean he will be counting the hours, minutes and seconds until then. But he has to wait. It's set up for June. We have our fingers and toes crossed that all goes well. He would love a summer internship, whether it's this summer or next. If that doesn't work out, he hopes he can get either seasonal or part time culinary or baking work at WDW while he is in school!

Last night was JJ's first performance of Fabulously Funny Fairytales. They all did a great job. It was such a fun play to watch. Here is a picture I took during a dress rehearsal.
