Come Share Your Southwest Release Rates

It looks like all the October flights from DSM to MCO and back are $169 each way. I'm assuming that will carry over into November.

I booked 2 trips. Philly to John Wayne Airport (SNA) $474 each round trip for my granddaughter and me. 8/13-8/20. A second trip Philly to Orlando for a quick 4 night trip 9/24-9/28 $283 round trip. I could have saved $30 by leaving Philly at 6:00 am but I don't want to have to get up that early.

BWI to MCO for the first week of October - $150 down and $100 back, could have easily gotten $100 down too if I was willing to do either an earlier or later flight. Booked everything with points and the prices didn't jump while I juggled all my points into the right accounts! Ended up transferring and buying the last few thousand and still ended up cheaper that way than buying the fare in cash. All in all I'm pretty happy with it, easy to say so when it's almost nothing out of pocket. Now to put all our earnings towards Disney reward dollars for the trip!

IND - MCO
9/5 - 9/12

$123 each way
$246 round trip per person
$491 total (2 people/round trip)
Definitely more than what I was expecting but I got great times (early arrival/later departure) and both are nonstop. Hopefully they'll have some sales so I can at least get credit towards a future flight.

I booked 4 seats from Albany to Orlando yesterday at about 6:30 am for $125 each (so excited for that price since we paid $357. when we flew down last Feb break). I just checked and the seats down to Orlando now cost $215 each! So glad I got them right away!

Did you look at BUF? They have a scheduled 8am direct flight, but it has been changed to 6:30 in the past. We book that one so we can have lunch at the MK. (we live in Gananda)

No we booked out of Erie last time. Buf has better rates.

I am glad I booked when I did the flights to California are now $525 each. I know there will be sales between now and our trip but I like to get my flights booked and I am happy with the cost. Other airlines going from Philly to SNA were in the $500 range and I would have to pay additional for luggage.

I just sucked it up and bought our tickets. The return flight from Orlando had actually gone up $5, so I figured I better buy the tickets before they went up even more! Now I'm just going to keep checking and hoping they go down.

PVD-MCO

8/23-8/30/16

$100 each way pp. Non Stop flights each way.

I missed the release day prices completely, but got the flights I wanted ( non stops both ways over Columbus Day weekend from BDL). Prices are higher than what I would have liked, but lower than JetBlue. For two with EBCI both ways it was 733.

Anyone book a flight with a layover? Seems like most posting booked non stop flights. Is there a reason to avoid a layover on Southwest?

I like to book the non stops because we usually are doing quick trips. The non stop gets us down to Orlando early on arrival day, and the early evening non stop on departure day gives us the entire day without getting back home really late in the evening.

I don't think it's specific to Southwest..just layovers in general aren't ideal. I just like to get on and off the plane once. It's quicker and less stressful.

when i was checking for fare drops today (got one for May trip - yea!), noticed that our flight home on 10/8 increased from $123 to $215:eek:

:yay:I just checked what I paid in 2014 for the same flights - 1025.00 for two r/t flying out of BDL over the Columbus Day weekend, so I'm happy with what I paid!

My flights both have layovers, as they didn't offer any non stoop flights from my home airport. :(

Wow! That was crazy high! Definitely a better price this year!

Going 11/2-11/12/16, so could only book one way right now. For 11/2/16 from PVD-MCO non-stop it was $120.00 or 6,894 points. I booked for 3, using points and added on EBCI for all of us for. This is within the usual price point for this flight. However, there were only 3 non-stop flights that day, and fewer flights in general.
I'll expect return flight will be higher as it is a Saturday flight. I will have to keep working on earning points, so I am ready for June:smooth:.
