Come on AP Rates!!!

Maybe I can help...we stayed YC water view and loved it, watched the fireworks just about every single night right from our balcony, the room was awesome, just immaculate! and the staff were amazing. Excellent restaurants near by and we were at Epcot all the time. The quiet pool and spa was exellent, never used and we felt like we had it all to ourselves..the down side is the lack of CS options. The resort is super quiet, great for adults.

We have also stayed at AKL CL with a savanah view and the view was the highlight of the stay. The staff were not friendly, the room was so dirty and dusty (like it had not been used in a while and was not checked before we arrived) the noise level was gawd awful and unbearable at times, Boma breakfast was a huge plus but the resort is so far from the action it was horrible for us...the buses were a huge pain and to drive my car was another pain because we like to walk to a park or a short bus/monorail ride away.

I say go with YC and have a great vacation!

LOL well it is good to hear from folks for opinions but IMHO that is one bad experience.

We absolutely love Animal Kingdom. The CMs and mousekeepers were fantastic when we stayed and honestly never heard a peep from our room on any visit and we've stayed 6 times now. I'm sure both locations have quieter area and noisier ones. I would love to stay at the YC someday but I honestly don't think you can decide based on individual CMs or mousekeepers. See if the location/theming/pricing works out and decide based on those.

Good luck!

Just curious. If GP rates include weekends, and AP rates do not, can one get AP rates for the weekdays, then get GP rates for the weekends? Would you have to make completely separate ressies? Check out and check back in?

Is there anyone who could check to see if there is any discount at the contemporary MK view for 11/16-11/19 please?

We haven't got our APs yet as we are upgrading from old tickets and it will save me a call from the uk.

Thanks in advance :goodvibes

not sure how many are in your party, but only gardenview deluxe roo shows up for $243.60. I think max 4 people in that room

Soooo glad to get up today & see this thread! Funny thing is, I just spent the morning yesterday "shopping" off-site resorts & reading reviews on TripAdvisor for a November weekend (non-holiday) because no way was I going to buy tickets to get the dining plan with a room at the GP rates. Had just about reconciled staying at an off-site place for about $110 night...with no dining plan of course :sad2:

Then saw this, and went on-line. Took me about 5 tries to actually get in on the passholder site (quite the loop they have going there - felt like I was dancing with the website for awhile there the way it kept spinning me back to the page to enter passholder card info, doh-see-doh, spin your partner, back again:rotfl:)

Anyway, my preferred mod, POFQ, not available on AP rates (showing at $180 night:scared1:) but booked CSR for $120 night:woohoo: and got the regular dining plan. Looked at the regular price for CSR on that weekend, and it's $185 a night, so the AP saved me $130 total for the 2 nights...35% off:banana: And even more important...saved me from having to commit the crime of going OFF-SITE:dance3: And, making me try another moderate resort is not a bad alternative, either.

Now, I'm just hoping some of the Christmas decor is up while we're there...:santa:

Well, for now I called Disney myself and put a hold on YC water view. Had a wonderful CM named Cotton who helped me out. She said she wasn't even seeing any AKL rooms under the AP rate anymore. However, on the website I can still see rooms with that partial discount (weeknights only). Anyway, I feel better knowing I at least have one guaranteed AP rate reservation...it's an upgrade, but for only $50 a night more than what we were paying under the FD package! Normally, that upgrade would cost us $100/night. Plus, no extra 2-day tickets that we can't use!

Well, maybe not yelled at, but talked to strongly! LOL
I made a new AP plus deluxe dining ressie on-line and then called to cancel the package I had booked with 40% off and a one day base ticket with deluxe dining. And he got really upset and told me to not ever do that again because they could modify the exisiting package ressie.
I don't get why he was so mad? Do CM's get commission or something? :confused3

What if you purchased an annual pass but you don't have it yet can you still get the discount? I'm planning on picking up my passes at the will call window so I don't have a voucher either.

had to switch from POFQ to CB..to get AP discount+DDP..saved $420!
not bad...

i got a great CM when i called, he told me that they release rooms in blocks and although i was cancelling my POFQ ressie..to keep checking back online for availablity..it coudlbecome available!

so at least we have a room at a great rate..CB is a new resort for us..maybe it's great??!
:)

that's exactly what i did!!
but POFQ had no availability..boo...

now i have to check out all i can online about CB..something new! kind of getting excited about staying somewhere new!

We love the CBR! If you like the architecture of a Caribbean theme you will really like it there. Also, it's spread out enough that you can find a quiet space if you want to. And they have a great & cute themed food court.

Well, like everyone else, we are psyched!! :woohoo:

We got 5 nights at the Pop for 3 adults - $83/night. AND, we could add dining which was super important to me b/c I'd already made reservations. Our travel dates are Oct 24-29. SO excited that this trip is a reality now! Thanks to everyone who posted rate updates!!!! :cheer2:

Now I'll have to look at a quickie Dec trip!

I was working with someone named Thorton who was really nice and helpful. He was cancelling my current Room only ressie to get an AP package with dining. We got disconnected. I tried calling back and got someone not so helpful. Shouldn't the original person at least try to call me back? Now I don't know what I have out there.

Yes, just go pick up the passes before checking in. You probably could check in with the voucher, but I would just pick up the pass and then checkin.

Can someone check for WL 12/12-12/15 with the AP discount??

Well. After trying to access this via my blackberry. And one call where a CM said there was NO AP ... I've booked mine with a second call . Nov 2 to 10th.
