I love the budget board. I have found a ton of great deals here.
I think there are a lot of threads that don't interest me, so I don't read them. After hearing about them I looked into them, and I admit, a bit on the scary side.
I could never make it on the feed your family for $10 a day. Never. It is more like 20 to 40 for me, and we are only a family of 4. Some days closer to 40 (or even over), some days we could do $10, but those are pretty far between. Food and nutrition is something I just won't skimp on. Then again, come to think of it more nights then not we are hosting others to eat here (my brother and his kids, friends, or other family.) We also tend to "pick up the bill" a lot when out with friends. For the past 7 weeks we have had no kitchen, that means eating out most days a week (and even meals). We are spending a lot less at the grocery store though. Hopefully we are near the end of that and I can't wait to start cooking at home again in my new kitchen!
So we don't save money that way, we do in others.
I also agree, if you can't afford the important things, then vacations should be put on hold until you can save for them. DH and I do tend to save our entertainment dollar to be spent at WDW instead of other places closer to home, but that isn't the same thing.
