Combining 2 dining reservations?

Our trip is coming up next week - we secured all the ADRs we wanted when our window opened but given there are 11 in our group we had to split everyone up into two reservations each (6 in one, 5 in the other).

In every case, the two reservations are within 5 minutes of each other.

Obviously we'd prefer not to be seated at two tables in different parts of the restaurant. (Though if the grandkids are having a meltdown, I may rethink that... )

That said, does anyone have any suggestions on how to best assure we sit together? Call in advance? Wait until we get there and request it?

I think your best bet is to drop by the location to see if you can let them know. But since everything is in motion its going to be a bit of a challenge no matter how you go about it.

only problem is it can take longer to get tables together but we have done precovid with 14. had to wait at each place did not find a way to do ahead of getting there

While less than ideal, my two sons that we're travelling with are happy we got these ADRs at all; they said even if we split up (hopefully not TOO far from each other) it beats waiting for tables to open up that could accommodate all 11 of us. (given they have 4 kids total ranging from 2 to 7).

In other words, let's be happy we have places to eat where we wanted to get them and not push it!

Yes, we did that a few years ago-couldn't get our reservation for all, but split in 2 reservations 5 minutes apart. When one reservation was called, we all went up and asked the hostess if we could sit not far from each other since we were together. She clicked a couple buttons, and escorted everyone to the same table.

Not sure they can or will do anything but have you tried to call Disney and see if they can do anything? Maybe they can get creative and rebook it for the full party. It doesn't hurt to ask!

Our party of 9 had split ADRs in December. We made sure everyone was there 10-15 minutes before the earlier one and checked in with the CM, not via MDE. We told the CM we were together and would like to be seated as close together as possible. We were seated at the same table everywhere but Sci Fi, for obvious reasons, and didn’t wait very long anywhere. We ate at Mama Melrose, Homecomin’, Liberty Tree Tavern, Beaches & Cream and Biergarten. Good luck!

If you mentioned what restaurants you have ADR, I missed it. I would highly suggest going to the hostess stand in advance of your reservation time. Even 1-2 hours before your ADR if possible and let them know at that time that you wish to combine. If you wait until your ADR window you will likely find yourself with an even longer wait (again .. I have no clue which specific restaurants you have) but several restaurants have a limited number of large tables to accommodate and the sooner they know, the better.

For large parties in general they tell you they can't guarantee you'll all be seated together even on one reservation. That said, they do their best, and if you're willing to wait a little, that helps. I assume the same will be true in your situation with split reservations.

Good luck! You shouldn't have any problems being seated together at Biergarten - I specifically looked for large tables there in November, knowing we would have 9 in December, and I definitely saw tables that could seat 12 people. And it's been a while since we ate at BOG, but I think the tables there are movable, so they can put enough together to seat all of you. Just check in a little early, let the CM know, and they'll do their best!
