Hi everyone!

If you live near Columbus and have not been to the zoo since the new additions, you need to!!
We went today. It was quite crowded but a wonderful day.
They have new tigers, I believe they are called Amurs (siberian tigers), biggest cats.
Sun Bears and red pandas are cute too!

I was talking to a docent about the Tigers and the two that were out are sisters. They are only 20 months old. They were sleeping...hmmm..just like my cats!
At any rate, I told him how much it looked like WDW and he said it was designed by someone that use to work at WDW.
Ahh..it makes me feel like I am home!

Here's a link for the zoo if needed

I love the zoo; I haven't been to Asia Quest yet but I plan to! :teeth:

I haven't been able to go to the zoo for the last 2 summers. we are planning a trip to columbus very soon. can't wait

I had just read about the new additions and was planning to go sometime in July. I haven't been since we had our DIS meet there quite a few years ago.

Have you been to the Star Wars exhibit at COSI yet? It is really good!

No, but we have a family pass to Cosi as well as the zoo. Two great places in Columbus. We were just talking about Cosi while walking through the zoo.
Do they have a lot of photo ops? Just wondering if they will let us take photos at Cosi. Loved the Titanic exhibit! Wonder what's after Star Wars?

I went to COSI to see stars wars last week. very nice. extremely crowded inside the the hall where they have the stars wars stuff. we went on a wednesday and i couldn't believe all the people.

We went to the Star Wars exhit for the members preview and the kids had a blast b/c all the "characters" were there!!

We got pictures with everyone! I felt like I was at WDW!!

I don't know if it was a special thing for the grand opening or if they always have the character there, but it made the whole exhibit for us.

Chewy must have been 8 feet tall!!!

We're planning on renewing our zoo membership next weekend when Grandma and Grandpa come to visit from CA. I was wondering how the new stuff was, now I am sooo excited!

Maybe I'll take the kids during the week just so it won't be as busy as on the weekend :teeth:

I am originally from Ohio. Miss it alot. Anyone who lives in that area should enjoy what Columbus has to offer and visit frequently. I have to drive 3.5 hours (to Albuquerque) to go to a zoo that is about 1/4 the size of Columbus'. Actually we have to drive that far for a decent mall, too!

You can take pictures in the Star Wars exhibit. I was suprised because you couldn't at Titanic. I didn't see anything about next years exhibit. That was one reason we bought a membership last year, that and the 2+ hour line just to get tickets for Titanic. Membership line was only about 10 min. Will probably get a membership to the Works in Newark when this expires since we can go to Cosi with the mebership and it is about $20 less.

I saw a new comercial for the new zoo ehibit. Looks really nice. They are even giving a free kids admission with any coke product and purchase of an adult admission. May have to make a trip this week.

My DH and I both made commet that new Asia thing looked a lot like AK to us. Maybe we need to do a Dis meet at zoo again.

Thanks for the recommendation. I was wondering what the new section would be like. We loved the Orangutan/SE asia section. We'll go when it gets a little cooler-like October. All the animals are playful then. So much to do, so little time! lol!

Where and what is COSI? And how far is it from Columbus?

It is the Center of Science and Industry. It is in downtown Columbus.
It has a lot of learning experiences for kids. My guys just love to go and explore. They are older, though, and get a lot out of the interactive displays or the from the people working there doing special events.

You set one up and we're there!

This is NOT cheerchick but her Mom Bobcat. If this child ever remembers to log out I'll be pleasantly suprised!

You don't want me doing it as I haven't been to zoo since the dis meet and I couldn't tell you how to get there if my life depended on it.
