I am sneaking around to plan a SURPRISE WDW trip for my family in Oct. My kids will be out of school 10/13-14 anyway for a fall break of sorts, so I am thinking that would be an ideal time to go with them missing minimal school days.I did notice that this is Columbus Day weekend though......anything to be worried about crowd wise there??

We went this past Columbus Day weekend. I found my trip report, so I could refresh my memory!

This was a very spur of the moment trip for us- my DH came home from work on the friday to find our AC wasn't working. He gave me a half hour to plan and pack. I was able to get ASSp for $99-rack rate.

So.... first thing I would do is book early and then wait for those codes!

Sat morning we went to MK. We got there by 8:30am and were first in line at our turnstile. I would wait on the right hand side if you have to rent strollers.

We walked onto dumbo, Snow white, Pooh, Tea cups, Pan, treehouse and aladdin. My Ds started to get sick (his ear), so we left. That was about 10:30 am. On Veteran's day weekend, we also did MK on a sat and were able to get loads of stuff done, by getting there EARLY!!!!! We had an 8am priority seating at Tony's for breakfast, so we were done before the park opened. This strategy works every time. We always leave for a break around noon, so don't know what the afternoon crowds are like. I remember specifically walking onto Splash at 10am. We got a FP for Thunder right before, so we rode it after Splash

Anyway, Epcot that evening wasn't too bad. Sunday we went to MGM and had a blast. Got a lot done by (again) getting there very early. we had lunch at H&V and that was a lot fo fun!!!

I really appreciate your digging up your trip report for me ;-), that was sweet !!

We were at WDW last OCT, but it was the week before Columbus Day. I just was wondering if that is normally a big school holiday or anything.
Anyway-thanks again!!
(Also-I'm sorry that you had to move my post)

I was wondering this also, especially for Monday. The MK is usually crowded that day anyway, right? So it would probably be more so?

which park would you guess to have the lowest (relatively speaking) crowds for a holiday Monday?
