Hi!! We will be down from the 8th-15th which includes Columbus Day. I know the parks are busy, but how busy?? Are they summer busy and Christmas busy?? Is one park busier than the next?? Should we stay away from World Showcase that weekend with the holiday and F&W festival. Trying to plan if we will need ADR's because c/s will be packed. Any help is appreciated!! Thanks..... :cheer2:

We left around 1pm on the Sat. of Columbus wkend, and it was HOT and crowded. We had been there all week and went to MK to eat at CP, ride a few rides and head for home. We were so glad we didn't have to fight the crowd anymore. Stitch had a wait time of 45 min. around noon that day and we went in the FP line and waited about 15 to get into it. I would say to have your ADR's in place!

We were there 2 years ago at Columbus Day. We vowed to never again go at that time. I was told that the crowds at MK were "on par with the crowds at the 4th of July". It was so crowded that we literally could not push our stroller down Main Street to get to the buses to leave to try another park.

Last year was our first time going to Oct around the Columbus Day holiday...I won't be doing that again...it was more crowded than I have ever seen. You could still ride things but it had to be done early in the a.m. We saw ride waits of 90 or more minutes. To us thats not doable with 3 young kids. It was hot, humid, rainy & crowded...

Since we will be there from Oct 6-14, anyone remember what the crowds were like after the Columbus Day holiday? Is is busy for the whole week after the Monday holiday? I don't mind relaxing for a day or two at the beginning, but wasting 4 days because of huge crowds, we won't due. I guess we'll have to go early in the morning and back after dinner if we feel it is too crowded!

Any thoughts?

DH and I celebrated our 18th Anniversary at the Wilderness Lodge and we were there October 10th - 13th. It was crowded, humid and rainy for the most part . . .Epcot had the Food and Wine Festival going on and that was where most of the crowds were . . .MNSSHP on October 11th was also very crowded. I didn't think it would of been like that, but alas, it was . . .not too sure if we'll do it again for our Anniversary. The crowds weren't like huge summer crowds or Easter/Christmas crowds, just a lot of people . . .not shut down the park crowds . . .but it was the humidity that shocked me a bit, I didn't expect that for October . . .it was a little less than a July humidity, but still . . .ick . . .don't like having clothes sticking to me . . .

o.k. I am scared!!! My friend told me October is wonderful, and not that crowded. Who else has gone Columbus Day week? I love going in the summer cause the hours are longer and we can break in the afternoon for a swim. Christmas is beautiful but kinda cold for me. I am really worried about the crowds. My favorite park is Epcot, are the rides crazy or is it just World Showcase?? I'm getting worried....should I switch ressies for the summer????

We were there last year for the Monday through Friday of Columbus Day week. (Columbus Day being on the Monday). We went to MNSSHP two of the nights and to be honest, we didn't think it was that crowded! We were also there the week after July 4th last year and October was a breeze compared! While it did look like there were alot of people there, we never waited longer than 10-15 minutes for any rides. MNSSHP seemed a little crowded for the first couple of hours but then people started clearing out. It was much hotter than I had anticipated, not like July, but still sticky!

DH and I will be there on Oct. 9th and 10th this year. We are going for our 4 year anniversary!! It will just be the two of us so, we won't be upset if we don't get to ride much! We will just be happy being there!!!!!

I will tell you that of all of the times that I have been to Disney World, October trips are my favorite (and they always fall around Columbus Day).

I was there last year on the week before Columbus weekend - we left for home on the Sunday. The week was great until Friday when the crowds jumped considerably and then Saturday was nuts. We went to see Spectromagic on Sat. night and we intended to go back to the Poly to see the fireworks but it was so crowded it took 40 minutes to get from Frontierland to the top of Main St by the castle. I figured by the time I made it to the monorail, the fireworks would probably be over so we found a spot and stayed.

That was the 1st time I experienced crowds to that extent. I would probably go again but it will require alot more planning.

I was there last October during Columbus Day, and I didn't think it was bad at all. The weekend was kinda busy, but nothing like summer or christmas. The week following was great. Moderate to light crowds, and nice weather. :sunny:
