What is fun to do in Colorado Springs?

I personally wanted to go to The Stanley hotel...just to check it out...but its not in Colorado SPRINGS. :sad1:

I think my parents are planning to see something at The Red Rock amp...

but other then that...
it seems pretty dull...and RANDOM.

There we were...planning to go to Canada or take a CRUISE...when my parents said "Colorado...that sounds pretty!" and yeah, it ive seen pictures and they're all pretty...but...

is there anything fun to do there for a vacation?

Thanks :)

I'll try to have fun...
my parents are interested in seeing a rodeo....hooray...XD

Eeep.
Update :

My parents are considering going down to see the Stanley Hotel along with Estes Park (yipee) and staying there for a night!

*crosses fingers*

They're still in "CONSIDERING" mode because right now the plans we've made are kinda bad so we're trying to reorganize it....

The Stanley Hotel...

I cant HIDE my glee. Its just too much to contain!

Lets hope this works out! :D

The Stanley Hotel? Is that the one that's haunted? :lovestruc

I live like an hour away from estes park and the Stanley Hotel (which is awesome!!). We went hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park by Bear Lake near Estes. There was some amazing wildlife, there was this trio of elk with six-point horns(!) walking through the parking lot. We were like 5 feet away. All this BEFORE the hike started! Then the hike was amazing too, we saw 3 lakes (Nymph Lake, Dream Lake, and Emerald Lake) along the trail. We saw a lot of cool wildlife like ducks, chipmunks, and even a momma deer with her two bambies!! If you are going in that area, I would definitely recommend doing a hike, and checking out Estes awesome local shops (especially the local food!).

I'm too new, so I can't post pictures, but I'll have my mom post them.

If you're going to Colorado Springs, the Broadmoor Hotel is a nice place to stay with lots of cool stuff to do. Near there is the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, where you can feed the giraffes (and I think they have a webcam that you can check online). There's also Garden of the Gods and Seven Falls. All cool places you gotta see if you come to Colorado Springs!

That IS the one I'm thinking of! :lovestruc

I officially want to go to Colorado

x]

Well my parents are too chicken to stay for a night....so we're staying in a different hotel...but... we're gonna do the tour *super squeal* aannnndddd check out some of the other stuff in that area.

Score!

:D
I. am. SOOOOO. psyched.

They have a tour for the Stanley that highlights the stephen king movie and even takes you to the underground passegeways!! I so totally want to take that tour!!!:scared::scared1::banana:

Yeah!
I'm so psyched!

Anywho, we're only going to be in that area for a few hours until we have to drive back down to our hotel, and I was wondering what there is to do in the area that would only take about 2 hours or so...but would also not be too stranious because my parents aren't really big on the whole exercise thing...and this is supposed to be a "fun" vacation...but yet they want to see something special. Like...we have bumper cars down here...whats special to do up there?

any ideas?

:)

Well i would say that the hike isnt too demanding, especially when you take breaks, but as for an alternative, i'd recommend a place in Estes called Fun City. There they have all sorts of cool stuff like bumper boats, go-karts, a giant slide, and best of all, an awesome 18-hole mini-golf course that is one of the best I've ever putted!! Also, once again, i urge you to check out the local shops and restaurants (amazing food!).

Room 217... (the shining)

lol that was my first thought. I saw a thing on the Travel Channel that said the Stanley Hotel was Stephen King's inspiration for The Shining.

x] Thanks a lot!

Again, SUPER thrilled. XD

I'll take LOTS of pictures.
LOTS AND LOTS of pictures! :)
