Can I complain????? IT IS TOO HOT FOR ME. It has to get cooler, right?

it has to!! Our A/C went out at the beginning of July and there is no money to even have it looked at.....I have relearned the joy of running through the sprinklers!!

We have a swamp cooler and it really works great with the exception of humid days. Plus it is cheaper to run. I remember the days when our girls were younger and we didn't have anything. It makes you so sluggish. Hang in there Theresa! It isn't beyond me to run through the sprinklers either.

Hello!

Been MIA lately. Went home sick last Tuesday and didn't come back to work until Monday. I have been trying to catch up and finally think I have things under control.

Sandy-Some days it pays to work in an air conditioned office all day! We don't have air at home. keep thinking next year....but there is always something else that takes priority over it.

Jrsy-Great deal on the amp. I bet Alex is one happy kid! Is he your only kid?

Yep...11 and heading to middle school next month. He's really been enjoying all of the special effects on the amp so we've been encouraging him to just have fun with them so that he doesn't just think of the guitar as something to take lessons on and practice on; we want him to have fun with it on his own, too!

He wasn't happy that we got him up to go hiking on Sunday before the day got too hot, but it looks like he enjoyed himself after all...

Hey, we went to the Rockies game against the Dodgers tonight. We had four seats up in nosebleed, but only my older DD and I were able to attend. We got there as the game was starting and went looking for our seats. Oh, great, top of the first inning and someone was already sitting in them! I had the usher check our tickets and theirs, and yep, those folks had to move. I was claiming all four of my seats. They weren't too happy about it, as they liked the front row seats and theirs were several rows up. As he was relocating them, a young lady in official Rockies staff attire approached me and my DD, and asked if we were a party of two. We said yes, and she asked us if we'd like to upgrade our seats? My first thought was surely she was joking! She went on - they were club level seats behind home plate, say yes! (OMG, that was a no-brainer!) She'd been looking for a party of two dressed in Rockies gear, and there we were in our jerseys and hats! We left the usurpers to our abandoned seats, and followed our guide to our much better seats...what a great view! We got to smile and wave for the camera during the third inning as they congratulated us on our upgraded seats on the JumboTron. Immediately my phone started ringing, and it was a friend who was also on the game (neither of us had any idea the other was there) and wanted to know for sure if that was us up there on the JumboTron!

Club level is very, very nice - all the ushers were so nice to us, and the Rockies won 10-1! What a great evening!

Good Morning!

Another hot hot hot day. Sounds like tomorrow is going to be the same.

Bob is in California firefighting so that means all the morning duties are mine. Feeding the dogs, taking out trash etc.... needless to say I was 4 minutes late to work this morning. I even got up earlier but ended up thinking since I had extra time I could fit in all this other stuff.

Scary morning for me today. I was in the area when the armed bank robbery happened. So many swat team members everywhere. So many guns. Closed streets, closed businesses. Sheriffs cars everywhere every direction. I think it so odd that they allowed me to drive into the Safeway parking lot where they were staging and didn't close it off or warn me. At that point the robber had just gotten away. Oh well, it is all over and everyone is safe!

It's nice that he turned himself in too. Glad you're fine, even though it was scary. We had a lockdown when I was teaching because the McDonalds next to us was robbed, but that was more annoying than scary.

I had about 3-4 hours of sleep while I was there and then last night our plane got delayed because of the bad storm in Denver. There was another plane that was delayed before us that was going to Denver and our plane ended up coming first so they boarded us and the poor flight before us waited while we boarded. I felt so bad because we all just wanted to go home. We got home a little after 11:00pm to find out C-470 is closed at Quebec. So it was another 4 hours night, I cannot wait to sleep tonight for more than 4 hours.

I use to work in Jeffco District Court. One time we had a bomb scare and they didn't even evacuate. Thought that was strange. I don't think they would do it that way these days. Macca1111, I like the lockdowns they do these days for the schools.

I am glad you are safe....Freshman year (so 2 years ago) Littleton had 3 lockdowns in 2 weeks and Cassidy was not a happy camper by the third one!!

Thanks!!! I slept like a baby last night from 9:00pm-5:00am. It felt like I only slept a few hours when I woke up to my alarm this morning!

Me too. They plan for them and we drill them, and it works so efficiently and safely. Fortunately I've never had to really test it, but I'm definitely glad the system is in place.
