Colorado DISers ... where are you ?

Hello all! I've been away for quite a while, but it looks like you've all been busy posting away! I have a question...does anyone have any suggestions for a good day care either private or corporate that doesn't run and arm and a leg? DH and I are expecting our first baby in December  (the reason I've been away so much) and I need to start looking at DC. We are up off 120th and Holly, but I work in Westminster off of 112th. I would consider anything near either location or in between. I appreciate any suggestions you all can give me! Thanks!

Congrats!

I know a great day care on 114th and Washington. Alas they only accept the four-footed furry kids.

Seriously, there are several KinderCares, Noah's Arc, and our old neighbors used The Goddard School ( http://www.goddardschool.com//Schools/Westminster-CO/schools.gspx ) before they moved back east. They raved about Goddard and the program.

Good luck!

CONGRATULATIONS DEAN AND MONICA!!! That is so cool!

I can't help either. I only know some in the Littleton area and I retired from it!!

Congratulations! On the new little one soon to be here!

I live off of 128th and Holly! We don't do the day care thing, but I will PM you some info on a couple of things to look at!

Im not a Colorado DISer We live in NW Kansas on the CO. border 2&1/2hr to Denver and everything we do leads to Colorado, Shopping trips, little vacations are to Denver or to Colorado Springs. Heck our Dish local stations are for Denver, Hardley watch Kansas news.

Here is the questions We are planning a weekend family trip in August we chose Denver last year it was the springs. What are some good things to do? We were thinking The museum or Zoo one day, waterworld or Elitch gardens (are they no longer a 6flags?) on the next day. Do you know any hotels for large families(2adults 5kids)? We usually stay at the hotel by Centennial Airport, We like it and they have large suites, and is close to Park Meadows(teenage girl). Shopping on the 3rd day.

Eating out we. Kids love Casa Bonitas:love: Weve been to Fat City and DD14 went to Amazing Jakes and she said it was a blast.

Would love some local info and some great ideas.

almburr-I live in the Springs wish I could help.

Wow I didn't realize that so many of you lived in Littleton!

CONGRATULATIONS DEAN AND MONICA!!!!

Almburr, I am really not any help, either. All our kids are grown and we don't do much. SORRY! One idea might be the Butterfly Pavillion up around Northglen or Westminster. Maybe someone up north can help you. Fat City has now turned into Mr. Biggs. Waterworld would be fantastic. And Elitches is no longer 6 flags.

Barb, Littleton encompasses so much as far as mail addresses. We don't live in Littleton. We live in unincorporated Jefferson County. We were given Littleton as our mailing address. Back when we bought the house in 1976, the closest Post Office was Littleton.

Hey Denver DIS-ers,

Anyone know which Disney Stores are still open? Did Park Meadows ever re-open? Which one would be the most convenient if I'll be heading back to Colorado Springs on I-25 (from around Exit 200 or 201)?

I tried to put C-O-S instead of Colo Spgs and it changed it to *** -- wonder why???

Thanks!

Thanks to everyone for the Congrats! We are pretty darn excited. Christmas will NEVER be the same around here that's for sure! I'm now waiting for my ultrasound which is Aug. 4th and then I can go shopping!!:cheer2:

I only see one kids age but it's right smack dab in my kids ages...let's see if I can help.

We love the zoo. Elitch Garden's is back to be just Elitch's and not Six Flags. It's fun but expensive. If you tell me what weekend or week you'll be here I can tell you if there's a concert there that weekend. We could also see about getting you in cheaper. Water World is hugely expensive!! Elitch's is probably a better deal. Bono's BBQ is over the way of your hotel. Park Meadows just opened up a "new" wing. Boondocks was fun and actually better than Fat City. Over by Park Meadows is a fun bowling alley. So many museums so hard to choose.

Have fun planning!!

We didn't see one in Park Meadows when we were there briefly Friday....such a sight the line for the Apple phone made me :rotfl:

We just went to Waterworld today! Haven't been there in ages. Both my boys were saying how much more they liked it than Elitch's. It is cleaner, that's for sure! And you can tote in a complete 5 course meal if you want -I like that!

King Soopers has a great deal for $109 = 4 adult tickets, 4 personal pizza's and 4 bottled pepsi's.

Today wasn't crowded either - so that helped!

Have fun on your trip here in August!

I love Water World. I am trying to convince my sister and BIL to go some Wednesday with my DH and I. That is a great deal, I just wish that would include tube rentals!!!!!

I have been trying to research point and shoot digital camera's. Mine is 5 years old and I absolutely hate the picture quality. I received an unexpected award at work last week so I want to buy a new digital camera for our Honeymoon. I went to Best Buy last night and played with a few after researching to know end online. I think I am going to go with the Panasonic Lumix TZ5, has anyone heard anything bad about this camera? Everyone on the DIS raves about this camera.

That's a great deal..and sounds like fun. It is better than the water park at Elitch's.
