SandyV, I have a daughter who lives in Monument. She would much rather come back to the Denver area because of all the weather you guys get.

The weather can be a "killer" here. We moved here originally 15 years ago because we wanted more land than a traditional city lot (we live on 2 1/2 acres) and the school district is good. But now that our youngest is a high school senior, we're looking to move back to Colorado Springs so my DH's work commute is much shorter (I work from home most of the time).

We live right in the foothills between Monument and Palmer Lake, so we tend to get the most snow.

The only problem is that the housing market is so sluggish, who knows how long it will take to sell our home once we get it ready!?!?!?

P.S. Heidi and I have "talked" online before. I know your DD's inlaws pretty well. Have even been down to their cabin twice for day trips.

Now they cancelled school here for the entire day. Which is weird because there's really not all that much accumulation. Must be icy underneath.

I'm from CT, which I also think is a lovely state, but Colorado has much nicer people and such a diverse landscape it is just amazing. My family is in the Co Spr area.

It is a huge disappointment...I wanted a snow day from work

Just please don't let it snow next week Mon-Thur (just to be safe). We are expecting the moving truck either Monday or Tuesday and we have a great place to park it except there is no parking if there is snow (street is a secondary plow street). Once we are at our new place, with all of our stuff, and the fridge stocked, then the weather can do whatever.

It is a huge disappointment...I wanted a snow day from work

The weather guy on Channel 2 at 9pm last night was advising to allow an extra hour for commuting this morning. I imagine anyone who followed his advice was ready to lynch him when they got into work an hour early.

Anyone a fan of Elephant Bar? We were there for lunch yesterday.

Nice to know they are up there. We eat at the one here in Scottsdale regularly. I love the non-alcoholic fancy drinks, and the potato skins.

I thought it was bit strange to have Mike Nelson in the morning...I only do a passing glance in the morning...I watch more to watch Good Morning America...that and fall back asleep after my husband wakes me up so dang early.

How old is Dakota Ridge?? I feel like such a dunce....I can tell you anything about LPS schools but I know nearly nothing about other Colorado schools. Except of course what I've learned being a marching band mom the last two years. Which is Air Academy is never going to be beat in 4A competition and other nuggets

Happy St Paddy's Day everyone !!

My son was bummed to realize he had to go to school today. He had himself convinced last night he was going to wake up to a blizzard

Last night I was doing laundry and looked into the bottom of the washer and pulled out my sons ipod . He was SO upset he cried for about an hour and a half. Then when he remembered this morning he started crying again Poor guy ! And, we don't even know how that darn thing got in there ! I wasn't even washing any of his clothes !
