I've had a taxi quote for the journey from dlp to parc des felins of €100, but when Carrie Cat was here, she mentioned that it was an easy and cheap journey, with just one change at Colommiers, OH is concerned that as we don't speak french, it'll be diifficult to find our way around and to make sure we get thd right bus back. :confused3
Anyone done the journey ?

Do you pay on the buses in france or do you buy the tickets beforehand and is it the carnet that people mention for the trains ?

I can’t be that helpful I’m afraid as we have never done it and if/when we do it will be by car but looking at bus timetables online I’ve found that the no. 17 goes from Chessy quite regularly to La Ferté-Gaucher passing through Colommiers. Perhaps the journey from there could be by taxi (I understand it is a 15 minute journey from there) which would not be as expensive as all the way. There are several stops in Colommiers to get off the bus, I haven’t looked yet to see which would be the nearest to the Parc des Felins although the station (last stop in Colommiers) might be the best bet for a taxi. Here is the web page showing the bus timetable http://www.metro-pole.net/hor/fiche/7717.04.html and when I get more time I will look out for a bus route actually going to the park from there. I can’t imagine that you would not be able to buy a ticket on the bus but will try and find out. Can’t find any prices either yet but it is a start and bumps the thread up! :goodvibes

When we caught the bus to Provins a few years ago we just bought our tickets from the driver when we boarded the bus. He was very helpful and told us which stop to catch the bus for the return journey. Just a thought - why not pop into the tourist info kiosk outside the train station at DLP? I remember picking up Parc des Felins and Chateau de Chantilly leaflets there ..... sadly never made it to either but they might be able to offer some advice!
although the station (last stop in Colommiers) might be the best bet for a taxi.

Good thought! :goodvibes

Thanks both :thumbsup2
I remembered about the Tourist Kiosk yesterday, thought they might be able to advise us.
Not a bad idea to just get taxi part of the way, hadn't considered that - thanks :goodvibes
